There is a Piano accompaniment track availableWeekend in Paris is a bright jazz waltz intended to convey the excitement and anticipation of a trip to Paris.The music is to bring to mind pleasure in sightseeing, wandering around cafe's, seeing children at play, people dancing and laughing and families gathering in a happy relaxed atmosphere in the glorious sunshine. The piece is in concert F major establishing the bright swingy rhythm, this then flows into the second section which is more lyrical and legato and is in E flat major.A short bridge section follows keeping the motif's heard in the first section but exploring the lower registers and remains largely legato. The first two sections are then heard again before a modulation takes place to give the piece a final lift before the end. The piece concludes quietly with a snippet of the opening motif. I have set it to intermediate level but the whole score is on the youtube link for you to assess suitability.The music would be a great addition to any repertoire as a happy piece, programmatic with a world/travelling theme in mind.Full score 13 pages-parts 4 pages. 4 mins 30 in length. Composed in 2018, this piece essentially starts out as a waltz, with a surprise halfway through. The first 3/4 melody you hear may sound a tad reminiscent of a waltz composed by Dmitri Shostakovich, which was partially intended. The second melody, consisting mainly of dissected chords, sounds more like carousel music, hence the title. And then we come to the plot twist.Towards the end of the piece, there is a subtle detail the composer threw in, which most listeners might not notice. During a section in C minor, the counter-melody transitions into major 3 bars before the lead melody does. In the counter-melody is an unexpected C major chord in C minor, (an E-natural where you likely expected an E-flat). This was actually done to foreshadow the melody jumping back into major for the finale.To a certain extent, Carousel City is Adrian's love letter to Binghamton. He personally believes this piece to be one of the best in his archive, and hopes that you experience as much fun hearing it as he did writing it.

Three numbers in popular style for two alto saxes and piano (or alto and tenor) with optional part for guitar and/or bass.These pieces are in jazz and Latin styles and are intended for intermediate students. They’re ideal for an end-of-term concert or recital but would be useful for any festive occasion or celebration. The 13-page piano score also includes the saxophone parts. The highest note in the 1st sax part is (written) C6 and that in the 2nd sax part is A6. Both parts avoid low D and C. Five-page parts for the two E flat alto saxophones are provided as well as an optional part for tenor sax, which is exactly the same part as the 2nd saxophone. In the piano parts the improvisation chords are shown only in the 1st alto part purely for the sake of visual tidiness, but they appear in all the saxophone parts so that any participant can offer an improvised solo. The guitar and bass parts are combined and the bass part is similar to the left hand of the piano part. All five parts are presented in a single PDF file. Hit the Town This is an entertaining swinger in the concert key of E flat and 4/4 time. It uses “jazz†eighth notes (quavers) and would be good introduction to playing in a jazz style. The improvisation section can be repeated as often as required. 2. Cool company A slow number in F major in a Latin-American style, this gives the opportunity to practise a soft singing tone-quality. There is one short section for improvising. 3. Freeway Written in 3/4 time in B flat, this jazzy waltz also uses “jazz†eighth notes (quavers) and the improvisation section can be repeated as often as required.
