This set of scores uses colored noteheads corresponding to the Boomwhackers® color scheme. Handbells sold by Rhythm Band or KidsPlay also use this same color scheme (other brands may use different color schemes). Using color coded notes helps beginning musicians learn to read standard sheet music notation. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.802535). The origin of this song is unknown, but it was first recorded by the Paramount Jubilee Singers. It has spiritual roots, predominantly in Black America. It also turned out as a popular jazz standard. Edrich Siebert did a military-like arrangement for a full brass band. It inspired me to transcribe it for a smaller wind ensemble, replacing mainly the horn section with saxophones, and included a clarinet. Enjoy!
