Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813939 Composed by German Folk Song. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Christmas,Instructional,Multicultural,World. Score and parts. 8 pages. Regis Bookshar #6631133. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813939). Brass Quintet - Intermediate - Digital Download. This arrangement of O Christmas Tree, or in German, O Tannenbaum, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for Christmas concerts and recitals, and, perhaps, even church services. It is equally suitable for junior and senior high school students and even older musicians. Depending on their ability, younger musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of part (8 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time.O Christmas Tree is a German Christmas song based on a traditional folk song which was unrelated to Christmas. The custom of the Christmas tree developed in the course of the 19th century, and the song came to be seen as a Christmas carol. The modern lyrics were written in 1824 by the Leipzig organist, teacher and composer, Ernst Anschutz. A tannenbaum is a fir tree. The lyrics do not actually refer to Christmas or describe a decorated tree. Instead, they refer to the fir's evergreen quality as a symbol of constancy and faithfulness. In this arrangement of O Christmas Tree, Regis Bookshar has kept the basic outline of this familiar song, but has inserted a short interlude, which brings to mind the sound of alphorns, or alpenhorns, instruments which may be made from red pine, or fir trees. and are used by mountain dwellers in the Bavarian Alps. I think that students will enjoy this imitative section in the song. In addition to this version for a Brass Quintet, consisting of 2 Trumpets, 1 French Horn, 1 Trombone and 1 Tuba, there are also other arrangements of O Christmas Tree available for a variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that might also suit your needs.I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a wide variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this wonderful arrangement of O Christmas Tree will continue to entertain both performers ands audiences alike for years to come.

Score and parts. 18 pages. PRS&B #379269. Published by PRS&B (A0.771627). I’ll Be Home For Christmas- for Brass Quintet (opt. Drums). Written in 1943 by Gannon and Kent and first recorded by Bing Crosby, this song originally was conceived as a tune about an overseas soldier longing to be home with his family for Christmas. It has since become a Christmas standard and is a great sentimental feature for any holiday concert. For Brass Quintet with Opt. Drums. Intermediate level.

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.740287 Composed by Tchaikovsky, Peter Ilyich. Arranged by Craig Garner. Children,Christmas,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 108 pages. Dorm 40 Music #6233323. Published by Dorm 40 Music (A0.740287). This arrangement is part of the Chicago Gargoyle Brass and Organ Ensemble Signature Series. Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker is universally popular and has become one of his most famous compositions. The ballet tells the story of a young girl who receives a nutcracker (in the form of a soldier) for Christmas. She falls asleep and dreams that all the Christmas presents come to life. Since the music of the Suite is so familiar, there is hardly any need to offer any additional description beyond the titles of each movement: March, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Russian Dance (Trepak), Arabian Dance (Coffee) Chinese Dance (Tea), Spanish Dance (Chocolate) and Waltz of the Flowers. This arrangement has been carefully edited and abridged to showcase the colors and dynamics of brass and organ. Your ensemble may perform just one movement, all 7, or any combination you wish. And, for the price, 7 movements is a real bargain!! Trumpets are asked to double on Flugelhorns (optional). This arrangement comes with a percussion part (timpani, suspended cymbal, tambourine, castanets and triangle). The percussion part may be played by one performer. Performance time: 14:00. Published by Dorm 40 Music,  www.dorm40music.com.

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.726088 Composed by Traditional English Carol. Arranged by Todd Marchand. Christmas,Holiday,Traditional. Score and parts. 17 pages. Con Spirito Music #4790249. Published by Con Spirito Music (A0.726088). Past Three O'Clock (or Past Three A Clock) is a Christmas carol loosely based on the traditional cry of the city night watchman, set to the English traditional tune, London Waits. The tune and refrain have been known since the Renaissance, and both were possibly used by London's waits (also waites or waytes). According to the Encyclopaedia Brittanica (1911):The earliest waits (those of the 14th and 15th centuries) were simply watchmen who sounded horns or even played a tune on a flute or flageolet to mark the hours. This appears to have been known as 'piping the watch....' The duties of the London waits, which included playing before the mayor during his annual progress through the streets and at city dinners, seem to have been typical of all 16th- and 17th-century city waits. The London waits had a special uniform of blue gowns with red sleeves and caps, and wore a silver collar or chain round the neck. In the 18th and early 19th century the ordinary street watchmen appear to have arrogated to themselves the right to serenade householders at Christmas time, calling round on Boxing Day to receive a gratuity for their tunefulness as well as their watchfulness. When in 1829 their place as guardians of the city's safety was taken by police, it was left for private individuals to keep up the custom. This arrangement of this sprightly tune features the Westminster Chimes (aka Westminster Quarters or Cambridge Quarters), the tune written for the clock tower at Cambridge in 1793, as introduction, in accompaniment, and at the conclusion of the piece.©Copyright 2019 Todd Marchand / Con Spirito Music. Score and parts. 12 pages. Regis Bookshar #6636611. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813980). Brass Octet - Intermediate - Digital Download. This arrangement of Silent Night, or in German, Stille Nacht, would be a wonderful addition to any music library and could be performed for Christmas concerts, recitals, and, especially, church services. It is equally suitable for junior and senior high school students and even older musicians. Depending on their ability, younger musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (11 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time.Silent Night is probably the most popular Christmas carol ever written. It was composed in 1818 by Franz Xaver Gruber to lyrics by Joseph Mohr and was first performed on Christmas Eve at St. Nicholas parish church in Oberndorf, a small village in present-day Austria. A young Catholic priest, Father Joseph Mohr, had written the poem, Stille Nacht, in 1816 and had gone to Oberndorf in 1817. The melody was composed by Franz Xaver Gruber, schoolmaster and organist in the nearby village of Arnsdorf. On Christmas Eve, 1818, Mohr brought the words to Gruber and asked him to compose a melody and guitar accompaniment for that night's mass, after river flooding had possibly damaged the church organ. The church was eventually destroyed by repeated flooding and has since been replaced with the Silent-Night-Chapel.According to Gruber, Karl Mauracher, an organ builder who serviced the instrument at the Oberndorf church, was enamored with the song, and took the composition home with him to the Ziller Valley in Tyrol, Austria. From there, two traveling families of folk singers, the Strassers and the Rainers, included the tune in their shows. The Rainers were already singing it around Christmas, 1819, and once performed it for an audience that included Franz I of Austria and Alexander I of Russia. They also gave the first performance of the song in the United States in New York City in 1839. By the 1840's, the song was well known and was reported to be a favorite of Frederick William IV of Prussia. During this period, the melody changed slightly to become the version that is commonly heard today. The version of the melody that is generally used today is a slow, meditative lullaby, or pastoral, differing slightly from Gruber's original which has a moderate tempo. The song has been translated into about 140 languages and has been recorded by many singers across many music genres. The version sung by Bing Crosby in 1935, has sold over 10 million copies as a single. In this arrangement of Silent Night, Regis Bookshar has kept the basic form of this familiar Christmas carol, but has also included a descant during the third verse. Also, in addition to this version for a Brass Octet, consisting of 3 Trumpets, 2 French Horns, 2 Trombones and 1 Tuba, there are other arrangements of Silent Night available for a variety of instrumental ensembles. There are Quintets and Octets readily available for purchase. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (7 pages). Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.726087 Composed by Traditional English Folk Song. Arranged by Todd Marchand. Christmas,Folk,Holiday,Traditional. Score and parts. 17 pages. Con Spirito Music #4777739. Published by Con Spirito Music (A0.726087). The Gloucestershire Wassail is one of many traditional wassails (festive songs, carols) associated with the centuries-old tradition of wassailing. In the West of England from where this particular song comes, groups of people would go door to door, singing and offering a drink of mulled cider (wassail) from a large, decorated bowl (the wassail bowl) in exchange for other drinks, food, and gifts. The custom of sharing the wassail bowl is supposedly of Saxon origin, a drinking ritual dating to the Middle Ages and derived from one of the observances of the Feast of Yule. Today it is associated with Christmas-tide, the twelve days from December 25 through January 5. The word wassail itself comes from an Anglo-Saxon greeting (Middle English waes hael) meaning be thou hale or be in good health. This arrangement of a sprightly West-English traditional song features the voices of the brass quintet in various combinations, keys, and harmonizations, echoing the strains of wassail-singers across time and place.©Copyright 2019 Todd Marchand / ConSpiritoMusic.
