One of the most popular hits released by the Spice Girls, 'Wannabe' is a must-have in your repertoire. On the surface it may look like a simple four-chord pop song but there's a lot of fun to be had with hamming up the playful nature of the song. Pass a tambourine around the horn section during moments when there's a lack of horn lines. Get everyone to take part in the vocals where possible; especially the Ha Ha Ha Ha parts.
Arranged for pop/rock band plus horns. Please note that the 'Voice' part can be shared by several vocalists. Mostly unison vocals but the occasional harmony line has been included within the same stave.

Published by Michel HERR (A0.1192304). A big band arrangement by Michel Herr on this beautiful Wayne Shorter composition, recorded on the Native Dancer album. Literally minutes after I completed this arrangement (actually a revised version), I heard the sad news that Wayne had passed away. May this chart be a modest tribute to a hugely important musician, a unique creator of fascinating musical universes. Details : 6 minutes, 8th feel, modal trumpet solo. In the sax section, the Soprano sax (lead) is played by Alto sax 1 but an identical Alto Sax 1 part is available. Rich and warm voicings, interesting modal colors and melodic lines. Score and parts in one pdf file. Wayne will be missed enormously. The Youtube link (= audio) is a previous version recorded by Act Big Band with Bert Joris playing the solo.

My energetic saxophone quartet (soprano, alto, tenor and baritone),â€All In†is a jazz piece that was inspired by Jimmy Giuffre’s  “Four Brothers†and all of the other great big band arrangers.  From them I learned so much about writing for the saxophone quartet in particular block chording. Further I did not score it for 3 tenors (or 1 alto 2 tenors) and bari and did not use the chord changes to Jeepers Creepers. I did enjoy creating colorful counterpoint and harmonies and tried to keep it in a light style like the Four Brothers recording.  While I did not include any improvisation it could be added perhaps using the chords from Jeepers Creepers.  All of this should make for challenging but enjoyable playing.  Note: all parts and the score are transposed in one pdf file. trt: 2’ 24 “ this work is: copyright 2023davekenneymusic I would love to get comments from you.Be Well Dave Kenneydavekenneymusic@gmail.com
