Published by Iris Kao Music (A0.1465552). When I listen to the French Suite No. 2's Courante, my mind conjures up the image of a masquerade. The courante in its essence is a ballroom dance, and this particular dance is one of repression. Despite its lively rhythms and leaping melodies, there is a glow of heartache that still manages to shine through. Still, the dance dances on, as a proud knight would before the night of battle, knowing that tomorrow morning they might be forever bidding adieu to their loved ones.The difficulty for this movement, as with many others, comes in terms of the leftover third voice when arranging from the original two. I have written for the extra voice, in this case the second violin, to support the first violin rhythmically, and join the cello with providing harmonic information.

This two-violin and cello arrangement of I'll Cover You, one of the production's most successful songs, maintains the catchy melodies, unusual and intriguing harmonies, and driving hemiola feel of the original; it will definitely be as much fun to play as it is to listen to! Rated advanced-intermediate for a few tricky rhythms and accidentals & some higher notes in the violin parts (up to 4th position), this will be learnable for more advanced students and sightreadable for professionals.Sarah “Cellobat†Chaffee is an in-demand acoustic & electric cellist and string arranger. Published by Homco/Crinion (A0.1487142). This song was the opening theme for The Mickey Mouse Club television show in the 1950's. It was a request from a bride who wanted it played at the end of her ceremony as the Exit March recessional. One problem: the ceremony was in a church, so I had to disguise the tune a bit to make it sound more like a regal fanfare than a kid's march. The result is eloquently altered - but still recognizable if you listen closely. [In lieu of a Second Violin, that part can also be played on a trumpet (Trumpet in C).] ENJOY!
