Published by David McKeown (A0.592531). It’s Been a Long Long Time is arranged as a solo for one Clarinet with Piano accompaniment. It’s Been a Long Long Time is best known to modern audiences as the song at the end of The Avengers, Endgame, where Steve Rogers, after seventy years, finally gets his dance with Peggy Carter. The song of course, is much older. Two versions of It’s Been a Long Long Time topped the charts in late 1945, and as US servicemen returned from Europe and the Pacific, it perfectly caught the mood of the times. One version was by Bing Crosby, and the other by the Harry James Orchestra featuring Kitty Kallen on vocals. It is the latter version that is heard in Endgame and the one that forms the basis of this arrangement.Musicians at an intermediate standard will find It’s Been a Long Long Time ideal for formal and informal concert performances. with both solo instrument and piano enjoying plenty of melodic interest. Loosely translating as ‘We’re Finished!’ Hemos Acabado channels the energy and style of Latin-American music and has been re-orchestrated for upper-intermediate to more advanced Clarinet soloist (including easier ossia sections) and Piano by the composer. With each variation the melody and rhythm evolve further from the original Theme. The tempo also increases slightly as you progress to each new variation. The first variation adds chromatic embellishment, the second variation syncopates the rhythm, and the third variation uses triplet patterns. More life is added to your romance with each variation!Each person who has heard this piece hears something different, but in all of them it conjures up vintage courting; and most say it would fit a soundtrack to an early silent movie. So, at heart, this piece is still a turn of the century love ballad, but livened up and fused with subtle influences from other styles and periods. Juliet's Waltz (named after Juliet in Romeo and Juliet to depict innocence, grace and charm) It is romantic in nature- originally intended as a piece for classical ballet, however it was decided on a concert piece. It is written in the key of D minor(concert) for the first two sections. The first time through the clarinet has the melody and the second time the piano takes the melody whilst the clarinet embellishes the theme. After a short link it arrives in D major and the same format takes place with variations of the embellishments before a small coda section to finish. I wanted the piece to sound through-composed with just the two sections. It is also more of a duet between clarinet and piano with both sharing the material. Would make a lovely concert piece or addition to the repertoire. It is 4 minutes long -Intermediate level, but the whole score is on here for you to assess suitability.Price is for score and parts.

When I removed the important lyrics from Feast of Love in order to make an accompanied instrumental solo I needed to convey the passionate drama just in the music. I changed a simple strophic form into an ABA Coda with every verse getting a different treatment. My harmony is much richer and more varied than the original. I added new articulations, dynamics, and other markings as well as a cadenza for one of the bridges. Excellent piece for a student to learn Romantic characteristics of expression, phrase shaping, and sempre rubato. This song is also excellent for Weddings. Alternative translations of the title are Celebration of Love and Love's Fire. It is in concert C major and has a lydian influence throughout in the harmonies. The piece loosely touches on multiple keys with lots of quavers movement to keep the idea of flowing thoughts, its ending is surprisingly on the chord of the 4th- again ending on the lydian note! There are two sections the first repeats, with subtle changes and the Clarinet has some embellishments in the second section. The Clarinet range is two and a half octaves- full score is 7 pages and it is just over 5 minutes in length.
