Piper Publications #6373441. Published by Piper Publications (A0.811804). The Duet, one of three originally written for 2 violas, was not published during W. F. Bach's life time. It is arranged for two clarinets in A but can also be played on Bb clarinets. The three movements composed during the late Baroque period are more Classical in style. The opening Allegro is followed by Lamento in triple time with long flowing overlapping phrases providing innovative harmonies worthy of the eldest son of J. S. Bach. The final movement, Presto is a delightful 6-8 romp. Players of advanced intermediate standard and above will enjoy this.

This trio composed in 1801 for two violas and cello has been arranged for two clarinets in Bb & bassoon or cello. It has been undeservedly ignored because the original trio combination never really 'caught on'. The four movements, Allegro moderato, Andantino grazioso, Menuetto & Trio and Rondo a la Burlesca provide advanced intermediate players and above with a gem of a concert piece. The final movement is a homage to Mozart (cf. Rondo a la Turka) and concludes with a lovely quote from the Magic Flute.

ISBN 9790570484225.This piece was written many years ago while I was a student at the Royal College of Music, but it received its first professional performance in 2014, in a concert at St. John's Smith Square. It falls into two strongly contrasted sections, each with its own character. The opening Andante should be played as smoothly as possible, and requires careful control of dynamics and intonation, as well as a perfect blend of tone; the Allegro is full of exuberant energy, and needs clear articulation and rhythmic precision. The 1st and 2nd clarinet parts are quite equal with the material divided evenly between them, so that the piece is suitable for two players of similar standard, and should appeal to a wide range of clarinettists.
