This version is arranged as a duet in a Jazz Waltz style for one Alto and one Tenor Saxophone. It was known to be sung in the West of England in the 1800s but only reached a wider audience in the early twentieth century. With a performance time around two and a half minutes, this version of We Wish You a Merry Christmas is perfect for seasonal celebrations and concert performances, both formal and informal. The jazz waltz style is a fun and fresh take on this familiar traditional tune.We Wish You a Merry Christmas is arranged in a key and range best suited to the instruments. Rhythms are syncopated, as one would expect in a jazz waltz, and there is plenty of articulation detail to help deliver an authentic swing style. The verse and chorus are played four times in various forms, with a short intro and outro. This arrangement is suitable for players at an intermediate or early advanced level.
