John Baptist Loeillet, a Flemish Baroque composer, wrote six sonatas for flute and basso continuo in his Op. 5 No. 2. This work is widely considered to be some of his most significant compositions, and they are still performed today.The sonatas are divided into three movements each, with two slow movements and one faster one. The flute part is very demanding, as Loeillet often wrote in the high register, and the accompanying basso continuo part provides a solid foundation for the piece. The choral symphony, better known as the Ninth Symphony or The Ninth, is one of the best known works in the Western repertoire, considered both an icon and predecessor of Romantic music, and one of Beethoven's great masterpieces, where it was first performed on May 7, 1824, the same year it was completed, at the Kärntnertortheater in Vienna, Austria. The conductor was Michael Umlauf, the theater's music director, and Beethoven - dissuaded from conducting by the advanced stage of his deafness - was given a special place on the stage next to the conductor. It was later rearranged by Herbert von Karajan to become the anthem of the European Union in 1972, the national anthem of Rhodesia from 1974 until 1979, Rise, O Voices of Rhodesia, used the tune Ode to Joy.

It stands as a reminder of a lifelong friendship, and how strong that friendship is. Thank you for supporting me and being so wonderful.This work I began writing in May of this year, and initially it was just an improvisation for one viola. I had then realised after trying to write for Solo Viola how difficult it was, since it is such a unique instrument. I wanted to make the most of the technical and musical capabilities of the instrument, so I added another Viola. With that addition, each motif seemed to make more sense and the music just flowed. Centre is based on the concept of centring oneself, but also the beauty in being surrounded by motion; by seeing things happening around you and being able to observe. This easy arrangement for viola duet has been adapted to be simple to perform and understand the structure of the original work for various levels of musical knowledge. It can be played freely by beginning students because of the ease imposed on the piece. It is often performed at wedding ceremonies slowly and reverently, challenging the effect suggested by Bach in his original score for voices with trumpet, oboes, strings, and continuous bass. This is one of Bach's most beautiful cantatas, made famous by the Jesus the Joy of Men chorus. It was originally composed for Advent 1716 in Weimar. Years later, already in Leipzig, Advent was tempus clausum, there was no music in the churches. Bach then reworked it for the Feast of Mary's Visitation. It is the final chorale of the cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben. Although it is the 32nd cantata composed by Bach, of those that have survived, it was given BWV 147 in the complete catalog of his works.

Originally written for viola and cello, here it is arranged for a viola duet. I have ONLY arranged the minuetto and trio This duet for viola and cello from 1796-1797 is believed to have been written for Beethoven's longtime frind, Baron Nikolaus Zmeskall. The Baron was an accomplished cellist, and Beethoven had played the viola back in Bonn. Both men wore spectacles at times, which is believed to be the genesis of the curious name. Apparently Beethoven wrote Zmeskall a letter containing these lines: Dearest Baron Garbage-truck driver, I am obliged to you for the weakness of your eyes. Perhaps Zmeskall lent Beethven his eyeglasses. Who knows? One thing is certain: the piece exudes a sense of sheer playfulness, similar in spirit (if not style) to Mozart's Duo for Violin and Viola in B-Flat.
