I have therefore also provided versions on this site for guitar with: flute alto saxophone French horn English horn (cor anglais) clarinet oboe violin. After a gentle introductory major chord arpeggio, the tension of the piece comes into play from the third bar where the melody line holds and repeats an augmented 4th suspension above the guitar. This note then returns as the arpeggio chords change underneath to reveal it as a minor third of a chord related by three degrees of separation from the original - C major to E flat minor. The harmonies and melody continue to sway in their relations in a curious and yet logical progression. I have provided score and parts and also a separate version of the guitar part which provides chord names and fretboard symbols; this would make it useful for educational purposes. Mauro Giuseppe Sergio Pantaleo Giuliani (27 July 1781 – 8 May 1829) was an Italian guitarist, cellist, singer, andcomposer. He was a leading guitar virtuoso of the early 19th century. Although born in Bisceglie, Giuliani's center of study was in Barletta where he moved with his brother Nicola in the first years of his life. His first instrumental training was on the cello-an instrument which he never completely abandoned-and he probably also studied the violin. Subsequently, he devoted himself to the guitar, becoming a very skilled performer on it in a short time. The names of his teachers are unknown, and we cannot be sure of his exact movements in Italy. Mauro Giuliani ( July 27 , 1781 – May 8 , 1828 ) was an Italian guitarist and composer , and is reckoned by many to be one of the leading guitar virtuosos of the 19th century.Although born in Bisceglie , Giuliani's center of study was in Barletta where he moved with his brother Nicola in the first years of his life. His first instrumental training was on the cello an instrument which he never completely abandoned and he probably also studied the violin . Subsequently he devoted himself to the guitar, becoming a very skilled performer on it in a short time. The names of his teachers are unknown, and we cannot be sure of his exact movements in Italy. A Simple Life and Some Tea PleaseThis piece was conceived in a lovely tea place somewhere in Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA and it was written in Medford, MA. It was given as a birthday present to Laura Tjoelker a violin player in Boston, MA. It is tonal oriented and to a great extent different than my original composition language which serves simple as a vehicle of direct communication to any music lover with an emphasis in melody and harmony. I used the tonalities of D minor and A major with the desire to create a flavor of nostalgic romanticism with some Greek character which is part of my heritage as musician. Not demanding for the performers and short in duration could certainly serve as a charming conclusion to any demanding duo program. …well after all it is a birthday present… apostolos paraskevas
