The song was first recorded by the Christian rock group, Whitestone and later by the Sellwoods gospel group. It has a Celtic feel and the songs are from several different countries - United States, Ireland, England, France, Germany, Scotland, Italy. There are 8 songs included, 2 originals, 2 medleys and 4 songs that you know and love included also. All of the songs are in SATB with an (optional) accent instrument part (choice of flute, violin or cello - parts included at the end of each score) - the score has the flute part so you can see where the accent instrument fits into the score. A simple piano part is included in each score. The voices and accent instruments help to complete the entire piece. You can also purchase individual songs on here separately if you choose to not purchase the whole cantata. However, it is a bargain to purchase the cantata. I was missing my family very much during this special season and I realized that this Christmas season was an important time to tell them how much I love them and miss them. I also felt it is an important time to thank the good Lord for all loved ones he put into my life and for all the ways He continually shows His love for us through others, e.g. kindness, good acts, etc. This sat on a shelf for many years until one of our music directors here in Mesa, AZ (a former New York State President of the ACDA) saw it and encouraged me to try to get it published. The song was performed during Christmas 2017 by the Children's Choir at Risen Savior Catholic Church in Burnsville, MN. It was also performed here in Mesa, AZ by a 20 person Soprano and Alto Choir. I received very good feedback from both performances. Although I was thinking of the song as a Children's Choir piece, I think it lends itself well in both situations above. The Children's Choir director at St. George Catholic Church in Apache Junction, AZ asked for a copy and permission to make copies for possible use during a future Christmas; I gave them permission to do that.
