This beautiful classic hymn Great is Thy Faithfulness, arranged by Deborah Johnson, is sure to become a favorite with a timeless message as well as upbeat and inspiring arrangement. The song had its beginnings as a poem written by Thomas Chisholm (1923), who sent to his friend William Runyan, then putting it to music. It soon became an unofficial theme song for the Moody Bible Institute. It became even more popular when sung by George Beverly Shea and the choirs at the Billy Graham Crusades. The arrangement begins in a straightforward style with a simple piano theme then bursts into an easy swing arrangement with a solo vocal. Optional saxophone can double the piano melody line. There are also 2 short 4-measure sections for a Piano 2 part which can also be performed on a variety of C instruments and with or without saxophone. It began like this:Sing Ho! For the life of a Bear.When he had got as far as this, he scratched his head, and thought to himself That's a very good start for a song, but what about the second line? He tried singing Ho, two or three times, but it didn't seem to help. Perhaps it would be better, he thought, if I sang Hi for the life of a Bear. So he sang it . . . but it wasn't. Very well, then, he said, I shall sing that first line twice, and perhaps if I sing it very quickly, I shall find myself singing the third and fourth lines before I have time to think of them, and that will be a Good Song. Now then:Sing Ho! for the life of a Bear! Sing Ho! for the life of a Bear! I don't much mind if it rains or snows, 'Cos I've got a lot of honey on my nice new nose! I don't much care if it snows or thaws, 'Cos I've got a lot of honey on my nice clean paws! Sing Ho! for a Bear! Sing Ho! for a Pooh! And I'll have a little something in an hour or two! He was so pleased with this song that he sang it all the way to the top of the Forest, and if I go on singing it much longer, he thought, it will be time for the little something, and then the last line won't be true. So he turned it into a hum instead.  ..... etc.

THIS IS AN ORIGINAL (simple) SONG I WROTE FOR MY MOM AND SISTER To be clear, it is a prayer written in musical form. I guess that makes it a psalm. A few nights ago I was feeling the pain of so many people around the globe who are suffering due to the pandemic. I was inspired to sit down and write an simple song of comfort for them-for us. The very same evening I started writing the song, unbeknownst to me, my sister was being taken to the hospital where she collapsed of heart failure and was life-flighted to the nearest cardiovascular facility.They put her on life support (ECMO and ventilator) to let her heart and lungs rest. Two days later, due to complications with circulation in her leg she had to be rushed into emergency surgery to pull the catheter from the artery leading to her heart. This required taking her off of life support four days earlier than they had planned. We were informed she may not make it. Thanks to thousands of people praying for her, and her own indomitable spirit, she pulled through-but not without more complications.A fever kicked in and lack of circulation in her other leg caused even more concern. Her heart and body were suffering greatly. As we prayed (and thousands of you from around the world prayed with us) I kept massaging and nuancing the exact melody line I wanted, at the same time interweaving various lyrics to intuit what felt right. I wanted this to be a song anyone could sing for their beloved family member or friend who was struggling. Every note, every syllable had to land just right-as if it was meant to be.Through all this my mother was going through her own bit of personal anguish. We were basically waiting for my sister to die. Due to COVID regulations nobody, not even family, could visit her in ICU. My mother bought a plane ticket... just in case. We hoped beyond hope that, If she died, she would not die alone. I wanted to finish this song by Mother's Day to share with my mother and my dear struggling sister who is also a mother of 5. I finished it and sang it through tears on Mother's Day. I have many friends show speak Spanish who are going through very difficult times due to COVID-19 and the subsequent quarantine. The second time through is a carefully crafted Spanish translation. I hope to hear people singing this far and wide with, to and for each other.

According to the Muppet Wiki on Fandom, the video first appeared on Sesame Street in episode 4710 (back in the year 2011). Its music was composed by Jp Rende, Kathryn Raio, with lyrics by Christine M Ferraro.The sheet music is a 3 page piano solo arrangement in F minor, with a time signature of 4/4 and a tempo of 76bpm. As there are essentially two voices in the song, you will have to use the pedal to achieve the desired effect of having two voices.

Notes On the Sheet Music Melody The melody alters slightly on repeating for subsequent verses etc. These are notated using smaller bracketed note heads and should only be played/sung on the appropriate repeats. The decision was made to not notate the final chorus as sung however when performed/sung the final chorus could be ad-libbed to emulate the original should the performer desire. Structure The sheet music follows the structure of the song as heard in the recording. If the repeats are not obvious each section (Verse/PreChorus/Chorus) is marked by boxed texts for ease of navigation. Length One of my main aims in arranging popular titles is to make the effort to try and minimise the amount of pages required. As a Musician I hate having pages and pages of music that could have been condensed using repeats and other structure markings. This arrangement fully utilises these and this is part of the reason why the decision was made note to notate the final chorus as sung in the recording. Alternatives I also have an Voice, Piano, and Guitar Arrangement, which has the melody on its own staff with the guitar chords above with a simple piano accompaniment under neath. For the guitar players out there I have also made this into a lead sheet with just the melody, lyrics and chords. I first conceived of this poem and melody while an undergraduate at Duke Univ, sharing it with a friend who enjoyed the jazz reggae syncopation and melody line as we sang bits of the poem together. The poem is a long popular song, and it took me some time to perfect the intro as it is today. I am very proud of this work, as I believe it is a most original P/V intro to reggae melodies as we know them today. I write this song in honor of Mary, because she is such a genuine Goddess of Creation, the majestic and pure Mother of Jesus who always interacted with others in a straightforward and genuine manner. This song is about perseverance in the face of interpersonal superficiality, and it will take me some more time and effort to differentially cut and paste the strophic nature of the music on Finale. They came about at the request of some of my adult piano students, particularly pregnant mothers, new mothers, grandmothers, and grandfathers seeking something easy to play, preferably with chord symbols, for their newborns and young children.And so, these seven lullabies came into being. They are simple to play. Some of you may choose to use the chord symbols to create the chords on the piano or guitar rather than the notated accompaniment and add the tune while playing to your little ones. Others may prefer to use the full accompaniment.
