Parts for both Bb and C trumpets are included at the end of the score.

Published by Rebecca de Bruin (A0.881169). This eight part choral arrangement of 'The water is wide' (to the tune O waly waly) was written in August 2013 for a university a cappella group. The melody is mainly in the soprano part, apart from verse 2 where it is taken by the tenors. The arrangement moves from a melody line (which could be sung by a soloist rather than all the sopranos) over 'do do' backing, to a polyphonic second verse, before moving into a homophonic structure with minor splits in the alto and tenor parts and finally full eight part harmony in the fourth verse. Who We Love by Sam Smith is a moving ballad that has beautiful harmonic integrity. This arrangement is for average- to larger-sized SATB a cappella groups, and sits at a intermediate-advanced difficulty for high school/collegiate groups. This arrangement is similarly for the a cappella group looking to explore cluster chords while fulfilling a slow, but moving ballad slot for your song set. While there isn’t a vocal percussionist part in the score, there is a slight amount of body percussion involved in the second verse, which can be replaced by a vocal percussionist if desired.This arrangement features incredible harmonies, including many cluster chords that sound full and rich; these cluster chords are often met with two- and occasionally three-part splits within each voice part, which makes it crucial for each part to be solid. If your group does not have enough members to satisfy the three-part splits, one of the notes can be omitted for a similar sounding product. Additionally, there are two solo opportunities featured, each with the exact same range. If only one solo is desired, the soloist can simply follow the melody. After a retirement due to health concerns, his second Christmas hymn dating from about 1849 was published in The Christian Register. Of it a fellow minister by the name of Morrison wrote, I always feel that, however poor my Christmas sermon may be, the reading and singing of It Came Upon the Midnight Clear are enough to make up for all deficiencies.”Here the tune is NOEL (CMD). The arrangement begins in Eb moving up to F, followed by an expressive (optionally a cappella) section in Dm. After a brief return to F for the final stanza (with a descant limited to top space F) there is a subtle surprise by joy to Em and on to a singable ending in G, with options for second soprano. The voicing range from unison to 2-part and on to 3 and 4 parts, but in a singable, approachable range for choirs of medium ability and only a hint of easily sung divisi.The accompaniment is active but playable and the score suggests a harpsichord voice as the keyboard option. There were several melodies attached to the poem by Isaac Watts. The traditional version, which has become the most popular, is attributed to Lowell Mason, and is the fourth revised version. The first part of the tune in the popular version is similar to pieces by George Frideric Handel, and the melody for the second part is Lowell Mason's. Presented herein is a fifth version (maybe there are more!). If one of Handel's rousing pieces could be used for the first part of the song, why not another? I have used the Handel's Overture to the Music for the Royal Fireworks for the first part of the song, and have kept Lowell Mason's rousing ending. Please enjoy. Also available for SSAA. ASCAP.

It has gone though several versions These include: 1 an SAB version in German and English (in which the bass part can also be played by a bass instrument if preferred) (in which the sound sample is performed by the composer in English and then in German) 2 a version for unison choir or solo voice and various accompaniments in English (in which the sound sample is performed by the composer) 3 a version for unison choir or solo voice and various accompaniments in French (in which the sound sample is performed by the composer in English) 4 a version for unison choir or solo voice and various accompaniments in German (in which the sound sample is performed by the composer in English) The pdf files for the unison choir/solo voice versions contain the original song (one line melody in E-flat and C and G with guitar chord names) and versions for piano and for piano and percussion, in the original key of E-flat.

Published by Phil Beaman (A0.1373417). I originally wrote Total Eclipse as an expressive Art Song for solo voice and piano. Â I used several lines of poetry from Newburgh Hamilton (1741) and set them to unique music that is a fusion of Classical, Romantic, and Modern, with a touch of Pop. Â The music expressively drifts from major to minor to modal every few measures, inspired by the themes of darkness and light. Â When I adapted it for SATB I filled out the already rich harmony and added ethereal 'oo's under some of the melody. Â In a few brief measures, at different places, SAB each will have a divisi line where it splits to 2 parts. Â (The texture is never thicker than 5 parts at once.) Â This approachable piece of music is a good introduction for singers to the interpretation of an Art Song and is a dramatic performance piece for concert. Â And perfect for the upcoming April 8 total eclipse!(Haydn also used variations of this text to create several Recitatives and an Aria for his oratorio Samson.)
