Various phrases and verses were used in the United States Navy Hymn, “Eternal Father, Strong to Save,” and alluded to in the United States Space Force Hymn, “Creator of the Universe.” Former Air Force Chaplain and Officer, theologian and hymnist, Major James F. Linzey (Ret.), believed that military hymns should not be waltzes. So he converted the timing of Mozart’s piece to four-four timing, giving the Air Force Hymn traditional timing that is fit for a hymn. James Linzey is the General Editor of the New Tyndale Version (NTV) Bible translation.

Based on the events of 9/11 and including audio clips from where the airport officials indicated the carnage on board one of the planes that struck the former World Trade Centers 1 and 2 on Tuesday, September 11th, 2001. I was 12 and a half years old at the time, and my brother was 10 and a half. Before he woke up, he had nightmares about flames. That was really creepy. The song centers on the trauma that the elementary school students across the street from the destruction in Manhattan faced as they witnessed the planes strike the towers, and everything that ensued. It uses the opening melody of Rachmaninoff's 2nd Piano Concerto, repeated and with the addition of drums, a wild bass solo, and some electric guitar riffs. It's a little painful even for me to listen to. I listened to it a lot this evening before posting it for sale.Stephen Sullivan- 02/20/2024Southeast Indiana *.

Following its release, the song became an instant hit with music fans in North America.In September 2018, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli released a classically flavoured English/Italian version of the song recorded with his son Matteo. Matteo wrote the Italian and additional English lyrics for this recording, in collaboration with Fortunato Zampaglione. This version of the song features in the end credits of the Disney film, The Nutcracker and The Four Realms.In 2019 A Great Big World recorded their own version of Fall on Me in collaboration with American singer/songwriter Christina Aguilera. The song is the duo's second collaboration with Aguilera, following the single Say Something, which peaked at No. 4 on the Hot 100 in 2013Fall on Me (the original version) is a beautifully poignant song that seemingly beckons for the divine influence of a higher spiritual power in the search for love. The Bocelli version incorporates an additional sentiment - the bond between parent and child. Andrea Bocelli said of this version, Anyone who is a parent, anyone who knows the precious responsibility of being a mother or a father, will fully grasp the meaning of this piece. It is his first duet with his son Matteo.This arrangement, for SATB choir with piano accompaniment, is based on the Andrea and Matteo Bocelli version. English.Northwest Passage is a set of “poetic landscapes†that reflects on three elements of the great Northwest of the United States—rivers, mountains, and prairies. Each sonic reflection (movement) combines to form a larger image, not unlike someone standing on a vista and seeing rivers, mountains, and prairies—each distinct, but part of one vast expanse.The work is scored for two versions: mixed chorus and piano, or mixed chorus, wind quintet, and string quartet. The harmonic vocabulary of the work maintains an uncomplicated, transparent (“organicâ€) approach in describing nature. The melodic vocabulary immediately pulls the listener's eye to the image, and rhythm is used as the underlying spark that is subtly ever changing and unpredictable. These three poetic landscapes should be performed without applause between movements.1. A Willow by the River|William Carlos Williams was a medical practitioner, pediatrician, and an avid writer. He wrote short stories, novels, plays, critical essays and, of course, poetry. The subjects of his writing were often “local†images, and he preferred to see the world “as it is,†without unnecessary trappings or “airs.†He was an important mentor to many younger poets of his day. “Willow Poem†(A Willow by the River) has no rhyme scheme but is comprised of fourteen individual lines. The willow is the focus of the poem (by its title and content) and how it never changes but will always “be.†The river represents, among other things, life quickly moving by and in a constant state of motion.2. Mountains|Marjorie Seiffert (who often used the pseudonyms Elijah Hay or Angela Cypher) led an incredibly full and balanced life. College introduced her to a world beyond her domestic and civic life and, as a result, she wanted to experience self-empowerment and independence. She prided herself in being a spouse, mother and maintaining a full slate of professional appearances and commissions for writing. Her poetry is vivid, keenly “visual,†and full of fast-paced, tightly woven ideas. “Mountain trails†(Mountains) was written at Glacier Park, Montana in September 1917.3. The Prairie|John Hay was an American statesman who was personal assistant to Abraham Lincoln. He also served as U. S. Secretary of State and Ambassador to Great Britain. He was a cultivated man of letters and wrote poetry which was straightforward in design and delivery. Nature was often the subject of his creative output. -Z. As well as the words of the Requiem Mass there are settings of poems by Ivor Gurney, Walt Whitman and Gerard Manley Hopkins. New words have been written by the author Jonathan Miles. The mp3 plays back the opening introit with sampled organ and voices. Duration of the whole work is 38 minutes. Information about permission to perform the Requiem can be found in the Vocal Score.
