When the Morning Comes is a Southern Melody and arranged as a gospel song. The vocal parts are most 2-part with a 4-part chorus. The S/A have the opening melody while the men sing a unison descant and goes into an SATB chorus. The process is reversed in the second stanza with a modulation. It is an enjoyable piece to sing and is suitable for most church choirs with its easy melody and jaunty rhythm. The accompaniment is typical gospel style and can be played by most church pianists. It is also suitable for high school and middle school SATB choirs as a concert piece demonstrating the southern style of gospel music. The audio clip is a computer rendering in Finale.

The alto solo is straightforward, adhering to the original melody. The choir parts are moderately easy (with some divisi) and support the soloist for the most part; however, they are given the third stanza to sing unaccompanied. The brass parts are moderate in difficulty (1st trumpet is required to play a whole note D6 at the finale). A good pianist (late intermediate +) is required to play moderately fast scale passages, both hands, during a transitional section, as well as a number of thick chord passages and leaps. This is a dazzling piece of choral music, for the choir looking for something with wow factor. Arranged by the composer from the third song in his Idylls cycle, the music assimilates the concept of freedom in a way that is dazzling in its effect: conventionally modal choir harmonies yet with total fluidity of modulation; having a regular metre and yet always trying to break free from it; a piano accompaniment that is a work of art in its own right (and needs to be played as such), a rippling tapestry of sound whose rhythms cut across those of the choir yet whose harmonies complement the voices perfectly. Together the piano and choir demonstrate more clearly than could words alone, that freedom and diversity working together can achieve great things. This is a celebration of liberty and its place in the civilisations of the United Kingdom, the United States of America and all other countries where freedom of expression is valued and inspires people to majestic works. The choir parts are of intermediate difficulty. The piano part requires a fairly proficient pianist. Well worth the effort and thoroughly recommended.

We're Forgiven (God of Grace) was originally scored in a Piano/Guitar/Voice format, but for this Advent/Christmas season, Servant Song Music & Ministry has produced this full SATB Choral arrangement, as well! This particular arrangement is suitable for Beginner and Early Intermediate Church Choirs and Worship Teams, including very small ensembles. If you don't have any men in your choir, you can turn the score into a Soprano/Alto 2-part version pretty easily, too. This short, accessible piece of worship music was written as a liturgical response for use during Christian services during the Advent/Christmas/Epiphany seasons of the church calendar. It returns the work of the people TO the people, placing the Words of Assurance into the mouths and hearts of the congregation and/or choir, rather than having the minister alone speaking the words of absolution/assurance after the Prayer of Confession. Set in a simple key for beginning accompanists and including chord charts for guitarists (or pianists who prefer to play by reading the melody notes in the RH and playing by chord symbol with their LH), this song has been set in a perfect vocal range for congregational voices and/or church choirs. Published by Robert A. Howard (A0.998730). This is a lively, singable and catchy setting of these traditional words used at Choral Evensong. The piece features much syncopation in the jazz-like Magnificat, with its repetitive, minimalist accompaniment figures. Meanwhile, the hypnotic Nunc Dimittis repeats its key phrase, as a voice part is added in turn each time. Both movements end in the customary manner with the Gloria, which is based on the Magnificat's opening. The text is in English, adapted from Luke 1: 46-55 and Luke 2: 29-32. This setting is appropriate for most standards of 4-part choir, including school, student, community, church and cathedral choirs. The accompaniment can be on organ or can be easily adapted by a pianist. There is a further version of this work, for solo or unison voices, also from Sheet Music Plus. The Gloria alone is similarly available in various versions as 'Gloria Patri', again from SMP.Â

The voices on this recording are synths. Larry Schacher is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, arranger and composer. Larry is fluent on piano, sax, clarinet, flute, guitar and bass. While in college, Larry also learned the violin, viola, trumpet, trombone, and bassoon.Larry taught public school music, and gifted classes in music for high schoolers at Eastern Oregon University, and Montana State; Larry also taught adult classical and folk guitar classes at Mt. Hood Community College. Larry also developed a rock and roll boot camp for middle schoolers that ran for several years during spring breaks at the Overlake School in Redmond, Wa. Larry was commissioned to to write the Overlake School anthem. Larry’s students have earned scholarships to the Berkeley School of music; attended the Thornton School of music; New York University and many others. Larry is a recording studio musician and besides the 5 albums he has published on CDbaby, he has appeared on many other albums, produced jingles for commercials that received air play in the Seattle market, and was the pianist for a syndicated gospel TV show. Larry has performed from Hawaii to New York city. It is an accessible 7-verse modal carol, featuring various combinations of SATB voice parts, with solo opportunities and some simple two-part harmony. Each verse modulates and the work comes full-circle by returning to the opening key, and verse, at the end. The result is a set of choral variations, with texturally varied accompaniment figures in the piano part in each verse. The piece is appropriate for virtually any standard and size of 4-part choir, including school, student, community, church and cathedral choirs. The accompaniment is quite pianistic but can be played on the organ. The work is available in two further versions, for solo voice, and in a generic 'easy version', both via SMP.

Here's the program note text in Spanish:Esta obra es mi humilde homenaje a la creación. La obra está escrita para coro mixto, piano y pequeña orquesta de cuerdas. En su sección inicial la obra presenta un patrón rÃtmico no convencional (métrica de 5/8) que de vez en cuando se intercala con métricas más tradicionales. La sección media es introducida por las cuerdas que de forma misteriosa nos introduce a una atmósfera de mayor contemplación. para luego regresar a la parte rÃtmica y recapitular el tema melódico inicial. El compositor escribe: En mis años como Pianista y director asistente del Coro Nacional de El Salvador disfruté mucho montar obras como la que usted disfrutará esta noche. Psalm 150 is a jubilant setting of a very well known Psalm. Scored for SATB choir, piano, organ, and Bb trumpet, it is very upbeat, rhythmic, and somewhat syncopated, but not overly difficult for the voices. Choral harmonies are fairly straight-forward, dissonances occur mainly in the double keyboard accompaniment. Written for the composer's own church choir, it requires a competent pianist, organist, and trumpet soloist, but would make a wonderful addition to the post-Easter choral library of many churches.

Mozart's famous and beloved"Laudate Dominum" from the Vesperae solennes de Confessore (K. 339) is now available as a separate movement with performance material for strings (with the bassoon ad. lib. part transposed for C Clef viola part) and a vocal score.
This melodious setting of the text from Psalm 117 captivates with the simplicity of its soprano solo, whose pastoral flavor returns when the words"Gloria patri"are repeated by the chorus.
The soprano solo can easily be sung by a member of the chorus, thereby making this effective piece ideal for small church choirs.
