I am 17 years old and this the very first composition I have ever written. My vision for the world is to try and help people keep positive no matter how bad or how unbarring the situation may be. There are many people on the planet that have issues that need to be dealt with and I believe that one way that they can help themselves is by trying to thing of the times where things weren't so bad. Even if they were bad, those memories should be the reminders to help you grow throughout life. This is the message that I am trying to portray with Those Memories. At the age of 15, I had a vision to help people not to forget the good and the bad moments of their lives because once the memories are forgotten, people will never be able to go back and tell stories about how they developed and came to be.  Some of the lyrics were picked from a poem that was written 4 years ago in 2016 called One Brief Moment by John Fleming. The poem was found on a website that provides poems to those who like reading poems. The website is called poetrysoup.com and I think it's a pretty cool website for poem readers, so if you like poems and you want something new, you can go there and check it out. I hope you all enjoy the piece as much as I had fun writing it. Haha.

Dies irae, is one of the most famous melodies of the Gregorian Chant, and was traditionally ascribed to Thomas of Celano (d 1260), but now is usually attributed to an unknown Franciscan of that period. The piece is based upon the prophet, Zephaniah 1:14-16, a reflection upon the final judgment.Many have caviled about the depressing nature of the opening verses, but while the piece is certainly sobering, there is a note of hope as well later in the text. Judgment, which is eternal, is indeed a fearsome prospect for all who have fallen short of the Glory of God. The 40-page score is a choral symphony with a powerful lesson to modern people, based on an old Danish folk song about the young super-hero Ramund. The score is dense with contents, both musically and lyrically, and alone for that reason, the 8-minute performance takes an advanced choir.The original folk song dates back to the Viking age and consist of many episodes ofRamund's life, almost like a personal saga. Some have undoubtedly been added later,making the total number of stanzas go up around 50, but the main idea of the song isto report about a young lad, whose ideas of what is right for him to do or not doare completely unaffected by other people's opinions, including those of royalties andcelebrities. The stories are in many regards comparable to those of Beowolf.Although the stories generally are dramatic and bloody, Ramund always retains hiscool attitude and shows how unimpressed he is with power demonstrations, even hisown when he is provoked to use his strength. It is a common element throughout thestories that Ramund detests evil and aggression, and he goes to great lengths to fightpower abusers and aggressive elements. He just wants to live in peace and not haveto be bothered by all those who like to abuse power!Included in this presentation for piano and 8 voices are 11 stanzas from what is believedto be original, in English translation, with focus on clarity of meaning, more so thanpoetical rules and rhymes. The first ruling concept has been to obtain clarity and agreat fit to the music. The second concept has been to add the inspiration this old folksong has created in the mind of a modern rebel who would like to see some ofRamund's attitude to power and power abusers put into action in our modern corruptsociety. Maybe in a less bloody version, but definitely with a similar effect! The added2 stanzas and the attached coda, as well as the added lyrics to the intermezzos and theincorporated commentaries to the action should serve that purpose.In addition, the original tune itself, as well as the lyrics and the intermezzo, haveinspired some musical development throughout the piece, to further accentuate themeaning and the messages about respecting each other, standing together againstabuse, and not letting power abusers get away with their crimes.The 8 voices cover ranges as follows: First sopranos: C4 through Bb5 (possibly G5); Second sopranos: C4 through E5; All altos: G3 through D5; All tenors: C3 through G#4(possibly F#4); First basses: F2 through D4; Second basses: D2 through B3

It was published widely in 1582 in the collection of sacred songs known as Piae Cantiones. Whilst the plainchant for the refrain (Gaudete) is clearly published, but there is much debate as to where the melody for the verses came from. Whilst many arrangements and publications include both the refrain and verses in Latin, I have opted here for verses in English, giving flexibility for your performance, and the choice of either language to perform in. Likewise, the voice for the verses is unspecified, leaving it to be sung by any member of the choir. This version is suitable for choirs of any level, especially those who desire an easily legible and flexible arrangement, ready for a Christmas concert, carol service, or other event. Published by M.A. Morizio (A0.926660). During the late spring of 2017, I began composing a new choral piece based on the 1 Timothy 3:16 text. I was studying Paul's first letter to Timothy at the time when this particular passage jumped out at me. Not only was it an efficient summary of the Gospel message, but it was also a textual grouping, or form, such as might be found in a traditional hymn. What I was reading were indeed lyrics to an actual 1st Century Hymn to Christ, the music of which has since been lost. I entitled my piece, Great is the Mystery. I composed the anthem for SATB (a cappella), and set it to the ESV translation of the scripture. Based on its context, I suspected the song would work great for Ascension Sunday. Our choir sang the piece beautifully, crescendoing at the finish to the words, Believed on in the world and taken up in glory! Later that spring, I played the piece for a dear friend of mine who is Pastor at Immanuel Church in Manchester, New Hampshire. What he told me was actually a bit stunning. He informed me that there were (at least) seven specific known Hymns to Christ written into the New Testament Scriptures, whose text is found among the writings of the apostles’ Paul and John. The 1 Timothy 3:16 verse that I had selected for my piece was indeed one of those texts. At that moment, Pastor Don and I made a pact. If he were to supply me with the literal Greek translations of the other six known Hymns to Christ, I would set out to compose brand new anthems for them all. A new musical collaboration had begun. With this short introduction serving as the genesis of my new song cycle, I offer you these new Seven Anthems to Christ based on the seven known ancient ‘Hymns to Christ' texts found in the New Testament.
