The key signatures (as written) range from two flats to three sharps. The entire collection is available here as a set for $22.00 (15 easy clarinet trios) or, if preferred, the individual pieces are also available separately (at $2.50 each). As each piece comprises only one or two pages the players will be able to read directly from the scores, without the need for separate parts (which also gives the advantage of being able to see what the others are playing. The pieces are as follows: 1. The Waxie's Dargle (also known as The girl I left behind me) 2. Scotland the brave 3. The Ash Grove 4. Men of Harlech 5. This is part of a series of fifteen easy clarinet trios (for 1st or 2nd year students) based on traditional English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish folk songs. I was specially requested to write these arrangements by a clarinet teacher in Italy. The range does not go above the soprano top C (2 ledger lines above the treble clef) and the settings avoid the difficult transition a to b between the chalumeau and clarino ranges. The key signatures (as written) range from two flats to three sharps. The entire collection is available here as a set for $22.00 (15 easy clarinet trios) or, if preferred, the individual pieces are also available separately (at $2.50 each). As each piece comprises only one or two pages the players will be able to read directly from the scores, without the need for separate parts (which also gives the advantage of being able to see what the others are playing. One cannot often find the origin of a folk tune or a definitive form, and bewares of modern arrangements (including mine!) The REFRAIN is Kolomeike, кoлoмийкa, a very quick duple-time dance tune, with a variable scale, popular in Ukraine for weddings and other festive occasions, often led by a clarinet with soft reed and many smears. EPISODES are mostly sad love-songs: A. Чом ти не прийшов: a girl sings Why did you not come and meet me in the moonlight? Wouldn't your mother let you? Dorian mode. B. Slow Waltz: I have seen this with G major accompaniment, but I have used G mixolydian: a popular mode in Ukraine.The bass has the melody. C. O, in the cherry orchard Ой, у Вишневому Саду. A girl (Clarinet) sings that she begged her boyfriend to take her home from the orchard, as it was late, but he took a different girl. Mother knows what has been going on, but is sympathetic. G minor. D Tanietz: a very fast dance tune led by the Clarinet: I do not know its name. E a reprise of the Cherry Orchard. F.Ти ж мене підманула You tricked me and let me down. I have seen and heard this sung cheerfully and very fast, but its lyrics are really sad. A young man complains that his girlfriend never turns up for their dates. Players will choose a tempo. The basic melody was attributed to Semen Klimovski. Here, the Bass sings the melody. DURATION: 11 minutes. INSTRUMENTATION: Two Bb CLarinets, Bass Clarinet.

Silent Night is said to have been composed by a priest and an organist in Austria on a Christmas Eve, making this a perfect piece to play at a party or at a church service surrounding the holidays. Parts can be played by either clarinet or bass clarinet.The wind versions of this arrangement have been designed to be flexible with 3-6 parts, depending upon the size of your ensemble. The larger noteheads should be played for trios, and the smaller noteheads can be added for larger groups where two or more people are sharing parts for a fuller sound.
