This through-composed trombone quartet peice explores two of the most opposite kinds of emotions in music, it starts off small with broken seventh chords, but then builds up to a warlike and dominating theme at measure 12, before slowly pulling back to more lyrical themes. This makes the slower and lyrical segments feel even more so, because after all, you dont know calm without a little bit of chaos to compare it to.
