If you’ve ever seen a funny video on YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, etc., chances are that you’ve heard this tune before…many many times.  It makes cute and funny videos, well, cuter and funnier.Kevin Macleod wrote this cute and funny tune, and it’s written to loop until the video ends.  The longer the video, the higher it goes (I think, although having a cute video last more than 5 minutes may wear you out.)  While I could have modulated it 5 times, I didn’t.  There is one key change, and after that key change, this cute and funny tune goes Radio City Rockette-ish before definitely coming to an end at around the 2 minute mark.Scored for flute choir – 4 C, alto, bass, and contrabass flutes.  There is an optional cello part that can help bring out the staccato notes in the contrabass, which can also be played by any C instrument in a similar range, such as a bassoon.This would be a great recital opener, closer, or filler.  Or, you could have a few members of your group act out a cute and funny scene to it.  The possibilities are endless!Duration: 2 minutes.

(Other flute choir versions are also available) It is a descriptive exciting piece, and the intention was to make it a dramatic and mysterious in style- with a film -like storyline flowing through it. It has a calm intro going into a heavily syncopated driving 4 as the main theme punctuated by a heavy accented ostinato figure to add tension. The middle section is calmer and more relaxed where elements of the 1st theme appear in fragmented form. The intro returns once again before returning to the main theme which has slight modifications-extra accents etc, and the piece ends with the recurring stabs heard earlier before flourishing out.The ranges of the flutes are between one and a half octaves and 2 octaves depending on the part. Set at intermediate level but the full score is on the youtube link for you to assess suitability.It runs at4 Mins 35 in length. Ideal as a showpiece, contest/festival, concert etc or an additional piece for the repertoire.Price is for the full score and all parts.

Grant Horsley #738520. Published by Grant Horsley (A0.1138249). Aria is scored for 4 C Flutes, Alto and Bass Flute. This version is in F major- also a D major version is available. It is a very restful melodic piece based on a single motif heard in bar 1. Written in the key of F major the piece is very hymn -like in design- with long notes and chords but has some unusual harmonies. The searing theme is stated then repeated with variation in texture. The theme is then developed using the rhythmic motif in the beginning climaxing in G major briefly before calmly returning to F major to repeat again. On this repeat more variation and articulation takes place before a restful conclusion. I've tried to keep all parts interesting. The full score is 11 pages and parts are 3 pages each- it is roughly 5 mins 30 in length. I have set it to intermediate level but an early intermediate should be ok with some of the parts. After the introduction a Circus- type Waltz begins, when this is repeated it has a very haunting counter melody which is both lilting and lyrical. As the piece develops, an out of character playful Scherzo theme begins which adds some intensity and mystery surrounding the Midnight Carousel. Both Waltz and Scherzo themes exchange dialogue throughout this section as if wanting some sort of control, when suddenly two accents appear to signify a halt We then return to the opening theme once more to lead us to a finish. Before the conclusion however, the Scherzo theme re-instates it's ideas before the final bars!The whole score is on the youtube link for you to assess suitability- It has been set to intermediate level as the range is around 2 octaves with some parts less than this. Mainly Quarter and Eighth notes used throughout- therefore it would be appropriate for some early-intermediate players.It is around 3 mins 30 long and price is for full score and all parts.Ideal for concerts, contests, productions, halloween, folklore/fantasy themes or simply something different to add to the repertoire.

Scored for 4 C Flutes, Alto and Bass Flute, Weekend in Paris is a bright jazz waltz intended to convey the excitement and anticipation of a trip to Paris.The music is to bring to mind pleasure in sightseeing, wandering around cafe's, seeing children at play, people dancing and laughing and families gathering in a happy relaxed atmosphere in the glorious sunshine. The piece is in concert F major establishing the bright swingy rhythm, this then flows into the second section which is more lyrical and legato and is in E flat major. A short bridge section follows keeping the motif's heard in the first section but exploring the lower registers and remains largely legato. The first two sections are then heard again before a modulation takes place to give the piece a final lift before the end. The piece concludes quietly with a snippet of the opening motif. I have set it to intermediate level but the whole score is on the youtube link for you to assess suitability. The music would be a great addition to any repertoire as a happy piece, programmatic with a world/travelling theme in mind. Full score 16 pages-parts 4 pages. 4 mins 30 in length. Thanksgiving is one of the most beautiful of holidays, a holiday filled with joy and music. We Gather Together to Ask the Lord's Blessing: Written in 1597 by Dutch composer Adrianus Valerius to celebrate Holland's victory over Spain, the tune was brought to American shores by the early Dutch settlers. Poet Theodore Baker wrote a new version of the lyrics in 1894, which became the standard Thanksgiving version. Over the River and Through the Wood: Lydia Maria Child, an outspoken abolitionist and advocate for Indian rights, wrote this poem in 1845. It was set to music by an unknown composer. Let All Things Now Living (The Ash Grove) This traditional Welsh melody (Llwyn Onn or The Ash Grove in Welsh) has inspired numerous lyricists to write words to the hauntingly beautiful tune. The poem by Katherine Davis, written in 1939, is the text most associated with Thanksgiving. Amazing Grace: Written by reprobate sailor John Newton in 1779. Known for his profanity, vulgarity and venery, he was imprisoned, beaten, and enslaved, before he reformed, and became a leading minister and hymn-writer. This is one of the most popular hymns ever written. This Land is Your Land: A traditional American tune, made famous by folksinger Woody Guthrie in 1940. Guthrie wrote the words as a rebuff to the song God Bless America, the huge hit by songwriter Irving Berlin. As a counter to Berlin's drum-beating patriotism, Guthrie would occasionally add politically charged verses expressing his support for communism. I hope you enjoy playing this as much as I enjoyed writing it. Recordare (from Requiem (K. 626) - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart/Franz Xaver Sussmayr - Flute Octet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. Hauntingly beautiful is how the Recordare from Mozart's Requiem is often described. Originally written for an orchestra and four vocal soloists, it has now been transcribed by Regis Bookshar for a Flute Octet, and would be a wonderful addition to any music library. This arrangement will provide students with the opportunity to practice breath control because of its long, sustained phrases, and also to give them the chance to play this beautiful composition, something which they may not have had the opportunity to do, otherwise. This selection could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this arrangement. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (44 pages). The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble has performed the Trumpet Quintet version of the Recordare for funerals, providing beautiful, introspective music for the occasion. There is some controversy surrounding the circumstances of the Requiem's composition because Mozart died before he could complete it. Count Franz von Walsegg had commissioned a Requiem Mass but Mozart had received only half of the payment in advance. So, upon his death on December 5th, 1791, his widow, Constanze, wished to have the work completed secretly by someone else and submit it to the count as having been completed by Mozart to collect the final payment. Joseph von Eybler was one of the first composers to be asked to complete the score and had worked on a number of movements but felt unable to complete the remainder and gave the manuscript back to Constanze Mozart. The task was then given to another composer, Franz Xaver Sussmayr. Sussmayr borrowed some of Eybler's work in making his completion, added his own orchestration to other movements and added several new movements which a Requiem Mass would normally comprise. He then added a final section by adapting the opening two movements which Mozart had written to the different words which finish the Requiem Mass, which according to both Sussmayr and Mozart's wife, was done according to Mozart's directions. The completed score, initially by Mozart but largely finished by Sussmayr, was then dispatched to Count Walsegg complete with a counterfeited signature of Mozart dated 1792. Despite the controversy over how much of the music is actually Mozart's, the commonly performed Sussmayr version has become widely accepted by the public, and is considered one of Mozart's finest compositions. The Recordare is considered by many people to be one of the most beautiful compositions in Mozart's entire catalogue. Regis Bookshar, a trumpet player, has performed the Requiem in concert with a full orchestra, soloists and a chorus and felt that other musicians should have the opportunity to play the hauntingly beautiful Recordare as well. So, in addition to this arrangement for a Flute Octet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this beautiful composition. There are Quintets, Sextets, Septets and Octets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may fine something else which may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. They are plentiful in Somerset in the West Country of England Though similar in appearance to a gargoyle, a hunky punk is purely decorative and has no other functional purpose whatsoever!! Unlike the gargoyle, which serves to drain water off the roof through its mouth. The theory behind hunky punks and grotesques in general, was that churches were designed to reflect the balance between good and evil, reminding worshippers of the narrow path leading through life. As a result, for every saint or animal that was intended to signify purity and ‘goodness’, there was also an ugly creature to signify evil and ‘badness’.Scored for six C Flutes, this piece is in concert D minor and begins with a medieval type of fanfare which occurs throughout. What follows is a haunting theme with lots of flattened 5ths and several discords to represent the uncomfortable nature of this statue. The staccato and accent direction in most of the piece gives the impression of walking on eggshells not knowing what lies around the corner! Then a brief legato section of the fanfare appears to provide a calmer atmosphere before eventually returning to the main theme and big ending. Set at intermediate level but on the youtube link there is the full score for you to assess suitability. It is a very romantic lyrical waltz in concert D major- with two phrases in the middle passing through F major and A major before returning to D major. The rhythm is very simple and the highest note is played by flute 1 which has top A once. The whole score is on the youtube link for you to assess suitability. Waltz of the Harlequins is an original piece- The Harlequin is the best-known of the comic servant characters from the Italian commedia dell'arte- popularised in Paris in the 16thc. The Harlequin is characterized by his checkered costume. Their role is that of a light-hearted, nimble, and astute servant, Harlequin inherits his physical agility and his trickster qualities, as well as his name, from a mischievous devil character in medieval passion plays. This concert piece written in waltz time (almost 1 in a bar)is playful and light, and represents the characters escapades. It is in ternary for in Concert E minor with the middle section in C major before returning to the opening them and coda. It is essentially in ternary form, however there are two different sections in the middle before returning to the opening and coda. There is plenty of interest in all parts- the range is Low C to the the highest note being top G so not too high, and the rhythmic off-beats play the largest part in this style. Hence it has been placed at Intermediate but the full score is on the youtube link for you to assess suitability. The outer sections have strong melodic lines underpinned crisp staccato support providing a solid striding beat. The middle section (which should be played in exactly the same pulse) is more lyrical and legato featuring triplets, but still retains the underpinning crotchet beat, but with a more delicate approach for variation. After a short link passage which features a couple of time signature changes, the main theme returns with a short coda- like few bars to take the piece to a conclusion.The full score is 15 pages and the parts are 3 each.
