I was really saddened by his passing recently, so I decided to pay tribute to him by creating this simple piano solo arrangement. I thought this arrangement is good for Beginner students who are learning to play piano solo arrangements using the Two-Part System, i.e., melody on the right hand and chords on the left hand. This is specially designed for beginner students who is struggled recognizing the piano keys. This will help young students and adult beginners to find the keys on the keyboard. Please note that I am not the original creator of these paper keys. But I rearrange the design. On the keys, there are two different types of numbers. The regular numbers, like 1 2 3 4 5, are for the right hand. The numbers with the circles, like 1 2 3 4 5, are for the left hand. (Sorry, sheetmusicplus don't have font for this) On the blank keys, you can write down the finger numbers. This is good for the students learning songs at different positions. Like G position, F position, etc. The paper key might have a slightly difference on the key size. It is because different manufacture have their own different key sized width. This paper keys should fit most keyboards or piano. This paper keyboard can help piano beginners start lessons and helps make practice easier. However, it is NOT RECOMMENDED for long term use. How to Print This pdf is designed for two sided (duplex) printers. Both sides on the same paper supposed to be in up side down format. Make sure you enable the two sided print function. You should be able to have a paper scale for three octaves on both sides. If you used duplex printing and your printer didn’t line up the scales, please use hand feed. Because every printers have different settings. You just need to try it in a different ways a couple times. Materials: I used the card stock from Sam’s club. It is 110lb greeting card paper. It is the cheapest one on the market. It cost $7.98 for 275 sheets. All of the papers are laminated.

The music follows on from the much easier pieces in The River at the End of Day. They are ideal for elementary pianists, but of course could be used with beginners of all ages. More experienced students will find them ideal and enjoyable sight-reading exercises or to develop the useful skill of transposing at sight. The colorful pieces are arranged in approximate order of difficulty, so you can feel free to pick and mix according to the needs of the students. Most of the pieces use eighth notes (quavers), quarter notes (crotchets), half notes (minims) and whole notes (semibreves). Each piece takes up just one page. With attractive melodies and interesting harmonies several of them could be strung together to create a suite for a student recital. Many of the fingerings are provided but sometimes the choice of fingering is left for the teacher and student to decide. For more advanced students, these pieces can serve a useful function either as sight-reading exercises or for transposing at sight, a skill that is sometimes neglected. This piece is great for young children beginning adults alike. First, there is an Alberti bass in the left hand for most of the piece; Alberti bass is a patterned bass used by the likes of Mozart, and it is a relatively easy way to allow for the suspension of a chord. The pedaling for this piece can also teach students how to change the pedal when changing chord harmonies in a fairly simplified pattern that usually lasts a measure. The dynamic markings are sparse at this point, but guide the student to start paying attention to loud and soft dynamics, and it is a good learning lesson about breaks and pauses in the music at the end of one patterned phrase and beginning of another. The music itself leaves a lot of room for emotive expression because one can play with a rubato that allows one to stretch some measures to emphasize certain harmonies. The whole piece sounds as if it were a setting of fairy tale set in the misty mountains complete with wizards, elves, and princesses. It is perfect for an ambient and poetic mood of a player who would like to learn a relatively simple piece. To practice this piece, try perfecting each section before going on to the next.

These traditional Xmas pieces (taken from the public domain) are especially arranged for the very beginner piano student or or the amateur pianist who wants to learn fast and don’t want to bother with too complicated arrangements . These arrangements are the most basic you can have and there are two versions of them for each piece: the first has only one note for the accompaniment and the second version has whether two or three notes chords or an octave. The melody is untouched in most of the tunes except for a few in which the rhythm needed to be simplified. All the pieces have been transposed in the key of C and the alterations have been kept to the minimum. So the goal for these players whether they are children of adults, is to have fun during the Xmas Holiday Season with the people they are with and love…I hope you enjoy and I wish you a Merry Merry Xmas!
