El dÃa que me quieras (English: The day that you love me) is an Argentine tango with music by Carlos Gardel and lyrics by Alfredo Le Pera. It is considered one of the most popular songs of the 20th century and one of the best Latin songs of all time.[1] Originally featured in the 1935 film of the same name, sung by Gardel himself, it became a heavily recorded tango standard, even by artists outside of the realm of tango. It has subsequently been covered by various artists such as Luis Miguel, Julio Iglesias,[2] Michael Bolton[3] Roberto Carlos, Raphael de España and Shlomo Idov who translated the song to Hebrew. The song was inducted into the Latin Grammy Hall of Fame in 2001.[4] El dÃa que me quieras was honored at the 2014 La Musa Awards as La Canción de Todos los Tiempos (The Song of All Times).[5] It was among the tango standards selected by Plácido Domingo for his 1981 album Plácido Domingo Sings Tangos. In addition to Domingo, the song has been covered by operatic tenors including José Carreras,[6] Juan Diego Florez,[7] Christian Ketter,[8] and Alfredo Kraus.[9].

James Nathaniel Holland is an American classical music composer of operas, symphonies, ballets, songs, and other musical concertworks that incorporate a unique, eclectic, blend of romantic, classical, world and jazz styles. Born and raised in Indiana, he studied music at DePauw University, Vienna Austria, Interlochen National Music Camp and Indiana University (Bloomington, IN). At these schools many of his early pieces were premiered and performed, with one work being selected for main-stage production in the season. Moving to Los Angeles and then settling in New York, he performed professionally sometimes as a singer, sometimes as a pianist, sometimes as choral conductor. He composed incidental music for the stage. In 2002 he founded a composers collective where they showcased their work. He was one of the first composers to participate in the American Music Center's initial on-line library. The New Jersey Concert Opera and the Gay Men's Chorus of New Jersey also featured his comic operas and art songs. From 2005 he moved to Costa Rica where he organized concerts with visiting guest artists to present his chamber music to the public. Presently he lives in a castle in the central mountains of Costa Rica. She studied the piano, chamber music, musical analysis, harmony and also to a lesser degree the flute, counterpoint and conducting. As a pianist, she received a First Prize in Piano and in Chamber Music at the Orsay Conservatory, the Gold Medla at the National Music School of Cahcan and the Artist Diploma at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris – in the class of Germaine MOUNIER. For composition, she studied with Narcis BONET (who later invited her to the Conservatoire Américain of Fontainebleau as accompanist and teacher of French Diction), Yoshihisa TAÃRA, and Edith CANAT de CHIZY. Having taught for a time at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, she is currently professor of piano at the Conservatoire Erik Satie of Villebon-sur-Yvette, Marie-Agnès Nataf has a double career of performer and composer. In both areas, she is especially attracted to chamber music, for the rich musical and human exchanges that this type of music permits. She has written her works Trois mélodies sur des poèmes de Marie-Isabelle SOLANO, Révolte sans paroles and Elan brisé for her colleagues the mezzo-soprano Nicole PARAMYTHIOTTI and the flutiste Isabelle MARCHAL with whom he has given concerts for many years. As a performer, she has premiered works by composers such as Gian-Paolo CHITI, Gloria COATES, Jean-Marie MACHADO, Yoshifumi UMEZAWA, Miao Wen WANG, without speaking of her own compositions. Published by Dalva Regina Ribeiro Barbosa (A0.1111422). I began to compose this piece unpretentiously with the intention of doing a prelude of 3 minutes. The beginning of the play, however, presents itself childish and naïve, as a child walking in a indolent way and ended up reminding me of video game or cartoon songs and a period of childhood between 8 and 10 years. I then structured the piece to show some pleasures of childhood: walking, running, flying, playing, swimming and dancing. Most of the images selected for this movie in youtube (https://youtu.be/BTZwwt8wYb0) represent what I wanted to express through my sound choices. For those who enjoy analyzing musical structures a short summary follows: The piece begins with the exposition of a rhythmic theme in B flat minor, followed by a small melodic theme constructed through the same motif presented at the beginning of the piece, but in D flat major. The piece then moves towards a moment of transition, a bridge between B flat minor and B minor. This transition is not only modulation, it is a transformation of the rhythmic aura to a melodic (B minor) episode . This episode is presented as a song A, B, with small variations. After the melodic episode, another moment of transition begins to return to the tonic (B flat minor) for reexposition of the rhythmic theme, but with another outfit. The piece then ends with a delicious codetta full of tenderness.
