Misfortune is my final theory project of my community college experience, and honestly, I had fun in community college but I can't wait for the future opportunities that will come to me. Anyways, about the piece, This piece is my second project out of three and unfortunately you guys won't be able to see the third project unless if I figure out how to write it in Finale. This project is all a Twelve-Tone composition written in Piano while my third project is an Indeterminacy. I never really been a fan of Twelve-Tone music because I always thinks it sounds really ugly so that is why I had the idea to call it Misfortune, symbolizing depression or bad luck. Misfortune can be a good solo piece and in my opinion, it is an easy piece to practice. The total length of the piece is 2:48 and this is open for anyone to purchase and perform.Anyways, that is really all I have to say about the piece. In fact, I felt bad for being the wrong kind of person and hurting other people physically and spiritually. I eventually felt so bad about my mistakes that I decided that I would write or call the people I had hurt and apologize to them. Over the period of a year I was able to find, call and apologize to each of them. To my great surprise none of them were still angry with me. I was forgiven. That was a great feeling. This day will be forever what you choose. Once you leave this life you won't be able to return and right any wrongs that you have committed. So when you make a mistake, choose to make it right today so that this day, this day of good choosing will be what will last forever. Never let yourself do something that you know inside is wrong. If your friends are trying to talk you into doing something you know is wrong, don't just sit there and listen to them. Get up and leave the room, or the party, or the situation. Be true. Be the one. Be the son or daughter of God. Do what He would do.

This is my best transcription so far IMHO. I have loved this concerto for many years but without an orchestral accompaniment the piece feels like one without the significant other. So after searching for a solo piano score for a long time without success I decided to do my own after finding a fan-based arrangement. It wasn\'t a bad arrangement but I felt it was missing a lot of the original piano part. I have done my best to stay faithful to the original piano part without being unplayable. But it is difficult. Unfortunately, I don\'t have a recording of this (it\'ll take me about a year practice to a performance level) but please follow the score along with the original piano and orchestra performance by Evgeny Kissin.

This étude is one of energetic character with simple, yet powerful melodies and rhythms that create a sense of curiosity. I composed this piece in a simpler form when I was around 17, in my high school music theory class. All of the ideas were there, melody and structure, but what it lacked was experience. It felt flat. So, 5 years later, after I rediscovered the piece, I decided to put some time into adding flavor, excitement, and intrigue. In doing so, I hope that I've created not only a technical challenge that will strengthen your skills, but a fun piece of music that you'll love to play!Split into three parts in an ABA format, this piece features a main theme divided by a softer second theme, both of which provide technical challenges in their own rights. The first focus of this étude is to build stamina in maintaining rapid octave progressions in each hand. This is coupled with quick jumps in the right hand that require precise and deliberate movements to perfect. The second focus is to strengthen control over legato passages in rolling arpeggios, while maintaining a delicate touch for the melody, and exercising the dynamic range of the fingers.In practicing this piece, it is very important to start slowly and with definitive control in all sections! It cannot be stressed enough how much of an impact bad habits can make on the execution of this étude. If you work diligently on finger control and technique, it will stick with you in all of your future endeavors! Be warned though: this is a difficult piano solo. It will take time and effort to learn, however, those efforts will all pay off in the end. Don't let it discourage you. Hope you find it enjoyable to listen and play. :)The piece depicts someone, who has gone through so much in life - be it happiness, sorrow, triumph or grief, stopping for a moment and looking back. Turning around and taking a good long look of the past and letting all sorts of memories gush into his mind, bringing back all those long forgotten nostalgia. The intro of the piece, is when he sits down, his mind slowly steps out from the present reality and starts to wander off in search of the past. Throughout the piece, he encounters fond memories which will always be a joy to think of, and also bad memories, which he is powerless to amend, and so lets them pass on like a flowing river. At the end, he steps back slowly into the present, after an amazing short trip through the life he has lived. The piece is generally played with pedal throughout with rubato at a relaxed tone.
