With 4,300 Christian religions on the earth today, we can know through revelation from God which is His true church. There can be only one. God told Joseph that He had a great work for him to do. God sent an angel who revealed to Joseph plates of gold. These plates of Gold were records kept by Israelite prophets in ancient America. God brought them to this land of promise before the Jews were carried away captive into Babylon. I know this is true. You can read the Book of Mormon. You can ask God for yourself if it is true. Then you too can know, for God will answer your prayer.

The travels of the three wise men as they followed a star to see the newborn King was the inspiration for this arrangement. It starts with the right hand representing the twinkling of the stars in the vastness of the heavens, while the left hand provides the feeling of winds blowing across the desert sands as the magi set out on their journey. Soon the melody is heard in the right hand, though in a more stately rhythm than the traditional, more pastoral original. The left hand continues its sweeping motion unabated and drives the piece ever onward as the wise men draw ever nearer to their destination. The minor mood of the song is replaced in the chorus as the star of wonder shines down upon them, filling their souls with hope. Eventually they arrive at the stable and offer their gifts to the babe lying in a manger: gold, frankincense and myrrh. It is the last of these gifts which foreshadow the death of Christ and his burial in the stone-cold tomb. After they have spent some time praising their new-found king, the three wise men return to their homeland as the music follows them back across the desert sands to their homes in the East.

Since sound is heard from 20 to 20k Hz and light is perceived from about 375 to 750 THz, there is a huge speed difference between the two kinds of waves, but overall, waves are waves. My synesthetic view of reality allows me to see pictures and colors when I hear tones. To me, C is White, Db is Orange, D is Yellow, Eb is Seafoam, E is Green, F is Brown, Gb is Red, G is Grey, Ab is Violet, A is Pink, Bb is Gold, and B is Blue. There is some logical flow to my chromatic rainbow, but admittedly it’s a little interpretive. It’s just what I see! Associating colors with notes is a personalized thing; two of my friends both have perfect pitch yet each perceive unique chromatic schemes in their minds for tones, which also differ from mine. This project shows how I use my mental color wheel to musically paint a stormy island sunset.

Quite possibly the longest set of piano variations in the entire classical music literature, with the exception, perhaps, of certain sets of variations for piano by Kaikhosru Shapurgi Sorabji. This work ends with a monstrous 35-page long fugue. In the 18th century, Bach composed the Goldberg Variations (30 variations), in the 19th century Beethoven composed the Diabelli Variations (33 variations), in the 20th century Frederic Rzewski composed The People United Will Never Be Defeated (36 variations), and now, in the 21st century, Gary Noland has composed his monumental 39 Variations on an Original Theme in F Major. (There seems to be a pattern of three variations added on for each century). This is a work for adventurous first-rate pianists! Some of the variations are self-contained and may be played separate from the whole.I'm fascinated by your variations. Perhaps a marathon performance with many pianists doing several variations? Eurydice had not yet taken the final step out of the Underworld, and so was lost to him forever. After his death, his lyre was placed in the night sky by the Muses. The constellation was listed by Ptolemy in the second century. She was one of the earliest advocates and scholars on historically informed performance practices, and she made the first-ever recording of J.S. Bach's Goldberg Variations on the harpsichord.Landowska was born in Warsaw in 1879 and started playing the piano when she was four years old. As a child, she studied with Jan KleczyÅ?ski and then Aleksander Michalowski. Kleczynski noticed in her lessons that she had an affinity for older Baroque music, and he didn't want to impose his sensibilities onto the already apparent musical prodigy. Consequently, her mother decided that Kleczynski was too lenient of a teacher and sent her to study with the stricter Michalowski, who was a Chopin specialist. When she was 16 years old, Landowska moved to Berlin to study composition with Heinrich Urban, but was discouraged by the rigid curriculum. However, while in Berlin she composed songs and orchestral works, and she met her future husband, Henry Lew. In 1900, the young couple moved to Paris and got married. There she became associated with the Schola Cantorum, and was introduced to Vincent D'Indy, Albert Schweitzer, and other prominent performers and musicologists of the era.Throughout the next ten years, Landowska toured Europe and Russia, and dedicated herself to researching the authentic performance practices of older music. Her husband assisted her in this research, and they often utilized libraries that they encountered while touring. She concluded that it's more appropriate to play Baroque keyboard music on the harpsichord rather than on the piano. By 1909, Landowska and her husband published the book Musique Ancienne, which was the culmination of all of their research regarding the performance practices of Baroque music. She also started teaching harpsichord classes in 1913 at the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin.Ten years later, Landowska made her debut in the United States, performing with the Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Stokowski. Also in 1923, she performed in the world premiere of Manuel de Falla's El retablo de maese Pedro, where she met Francis Poulenc and asked him to write a harpsichord concerto for her. She also commissioned a concerto from Falla in 1925, which would prove to be a modern masterpiece. In 1929, Landowska performed the premiere of Poulenc's Concert champêtre in Paris. By this time, she had settled in a town north of Paris, and was teaching from her school L'Ã?cole de Musique Ancienne, which she established in 1925. She offered private and group courses and an annual summer concert series that was very popular. Landowska taught and performed in this capacity until 1940, when she had to abandon the school, her extensive library, and her home because of World War II. With the assistance of her student Denise Restout, she escaped to Portugal and then sailed to the United States, and eventually settled in Lakeville, Connecticut. She continued to perform and teach in the U.S., and at the age of 70 she recorded the complete Well-Tempered Clavier, which was highly acclaimed. Landowska was 80 years old when she passed away in Lakeville in 1959.
