Transcripción para Piano Solo por:JUAN CARLOS CORTÉS A.Luis Dueñas Perilla nace en Somondoco (Boyacá) el 1 de Febrero de 1921 y muere en Bogotá el 3 de Noviembre de 1977. Autor y compositor de la célebre danza Negrita.Este bambuco es tema de discusión por algunos estudiosos e investigadores musicales, los cuales suponen que este bambuco es original del maestro antioqueño Carlos Vieco OrtÃz por su estilo y forma melódica y armónica. Púes en algún momento tuvo un encuentro con este buen cantante, al cual le confió uno de sus cuadernos con sus obras para estudiarlas, y luego fue devuelto lamentablemente con algunas páginas arrancadas de dicho libro; a lo cual el maestro Vieco no mostró disgusto, ni hizo reclamo, dada su pacÃfica actitud y tranquilo temperamento.Algunos se basan en un sugestivo tÃtulo del pasillo de Carlos Vieco llamado: Saltando PolÃnes. A lo que el investigador Javier Gutiérrez Villegas afirma que:...No todas las canciones de Vieco tuvieron ese origen trascendente ni fueron estrenadas con solemnidad. Y dejando a un lado la actitud circunspecta, nos relata el nacimiento del pasillo Saltando polines: en 1932, plena guerra con el Perú, se juntaron en La Bastilla Alberto Ãngel Vallejo el aplaudido barÃtono, Roberto Muñoz Londoño, educador y poeta, y él. Se encontraban en ruinosa situación y planearon una gira que los sacarÃa de afanes. Imaginábamos montañas de plata, apunta don Carlos, con la voz maravillosa de Alberto, con las declamaciones de Muñoz Londoño y con mis interpretaciones al piano. Escogimos a Cisneros para comenzar. En pleno auge el Ferrocarril de Antioquia, aquella población era centro populoso y muy importante. Pues a la primera función asistieron el cura y el alcalde ya la segunda no fue nadie. Con los gastos de transporte, de hotel, de cartelerÃa, nos quedamos en la pura inopia. Con unas monedas sobrantes compramos pasaje de tercera para Muñoz Londoño que se encontraba enfermo y Ãngel Vallejo y yo resolvimos regresar a MedellÃn, saltando polines. Iniciamos la aventura y cuando llevábamos buen trecho apareció una máquina del Ferrocarril que transportaba veteranos para la guerra y nos recogieron. Y en esta forma, hacinados pero felices, pusimos fin a la correrÃa. Make sure to “play the rests†correctly: lifting your right hand off the keyboard with good timing will greatly contribute to solidifying the sense of groove in your playing. Also pay attention to the points where the harmony changes in the left hand — these transitions have to be smooth and should be practiced at a particularly slow tempo. Corranda: Una corranda (Cataluña) o correnta (Andorra y Pirineos Orientales) es una danza cantada que se baila en parejas, popular en Cataluña (España), Andorra y Pirineos Orientales (Francia) y que se solÃa bailar como final de una serie de bailes o después de otras danzas, como ser un ballet o un contrapà s. Por extensión también es la canción que se canta durante esta danza. En tiempos moderno el canto ha sido sustituido por acompañamiento instrumental. Es una danza popular en las comarcas del interior de la antigua Gotia y, especialmente en los Pirineos, desde Pallars hasta Vallespir. In questo libro vi presento la mia composizione dal titolo Litania per pianoforte e voce recitante, ispirata alle poesie di Pier Paolo Pasolini. Centodue anni sono trascorsi dalla sua nascita, quarantanove dal suo assassinio, eppure le parole di Pasolini vibrano ancora, hanno risonanza come un grido di battaglia che avremmo dovuto raccogliere per fronteggiare il declino, anziché trattarlo come un visionario jettatore. Non l’unico fra i migliori del Novecento, ma sicuramente colui che più di tutti ha investito il suo corpo, la carne, il sangue per ogni parola. Nel 1958 pubblicò una raccolta di liriche intitolata L’usignolo della Chiesa Cattolica, in cui esprimeva il suo amore e il suo conflitto con la religione, la cultura e la storia del suo paese. Tra queste liriche, otto sono dedicate alla figura di Maria, la madre di Gesù, e sono chiamate Litania. Una litania è una preghiera in cui si invoca una serie di nomi o attributi di una divinità o di un santo, con una formula di supplica o di lode. Pasolini usa questo genere per esplorare i diversi aspetti di Maria, da quelli più tradizionali a quelli più personali e provocatori. Ho voluto trasporre queste poesie in musica, creando otto brani per pianoforte e voce recitante. Queste composizioni vogliono mettere in musica la rabbia dell’intellettuale, spogliata dalle forme e dalle regole delle arti, andando alla riscoperta di quella scrittura diretta, caustica, spesso indisponente, con cui Pasolini raccontava la realtà e l’attualità del suo tempo. Ogni brano corrisponde a una litania, e ne riprende il titolo e il testo. Il mio intento è stato quello di creare un dialogo tra la parola e il suono, tra la voce umana e quella del pianoforte, tra il senso e il sentimento. Ho cercato di rispettare il ritmo, la musicalità e il significato dei versi di Pasolini, ma anche di aggiungere la mia interpretazione e la mia emozione. Ho usato vari stili e tecniche musicali, da quelle più classiche a quelle più moderne, per esprimere la ricchezza e la complessità della visione pasoliniana. Â

Published by Samuel Wellman (A0.882108). This work, written in 1994, was one of my first parodies. Taking another composer's piece and 'messing it up', so to speak, became an important preoccupation for me. Clementi (Op. 36 No. 1) obviously is the victim here, and you can easily follow the original throughout. In the first movement I added a dissonant left hand part, and the result is basically bitonal, with a few quotes added from other famous tunes. In the second movement the material is moved up two octaves to imitate a music box and, just as would happen to a real wind-up music box, the tempo gets slower and slower until......oh no! The final dominant seventh doesn't resolve! Anarchy! Finally, the last movement stays completely faithful to the original, except that every measure is transposed to a different key. It's a great ear-bender, and as Mozart says in the movie Amadeus, It's so new! And the title, 'Snotty Tina,' is a corruption of 'Sonatina.'

Sin embargo, entendí que estas Profecías Mayas, más allá de predicar destrucción, enunciaban el inicio de un mundo nuevo, uno que todos nosotros debemos construir. Me inspiré en el tema y decidí escribir 31 composiciones, una por cada día del mes de diciembre —práctica que desde entonces mantengo, siendo el pasado diciembre mi 11o año consecutivo. Ahora, en 2024, el equipo de la Fundación Copistas Acuario —presidida por mi amigo y discípulo Samuel Beethoven—, me honra con la siguiente edición de composiciones para piano, luego de haber también publicado mi libro «A ti Estudiante» en 2019. En cada una de las piezas se presenta una propuesta distinta y diferenciada. Cada título es alusivo al día correspondiente según los almanaques y muchas veces en conexión con la numerología. Es un libro interesante para estudiarlo y ampliar el repertorio, pero que sobre todo busca elevar la capacidad interpretativa. Siempre he tratado de enviar un mensaje de vida a través de mi música y en esta obra, además, quise expresar la fascinación y el asombro que este pueblo antiguo y misterioso me causa. Se dice que este pueblo desapareció, pues decían venir de las estrellas, específicamente de las Pléyades; tal vez regresaron a su origen cósmico de la misma manera en que vinieron. ¡Embárquemonos, pues, nosotros también en este fascinante viaje musical que hoy presentamos ante ustedes! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In 2012, there was a lot of talk about the Mayan calendar and an interpretation that caused a great impact worldwide for its fatalistic omens. However, I understood that these Mayan Prophecies, beyond preaching destruction, enunciated the beginning of a new world, one that all of us must build. I was inspired by the theme and decided to write 31 compositions, one for each day of the month of December —a practice I have maintained ever since, this past December being my 11th consecutive year. Now, in 2024, the team of the Fundación Copistas Acuario —chaired by my friend and disciple Samuel Beethoven,— honors me with the next edition of piano compositions, after having also published my book “A ti Estudiante” in 2019. Each of the pieces presents a distinct and different proposal. Each title is allusive to the corresponding day according to the almanacs and often in connection with numerology. It is an interesting book to study and expand the repertoire, but above all it seeks to raise the interpretative capacity. I have always tried to send a message of life through my music, and in this work I also wanted to express the fascination and amazement that this ancient and mysterious people cause me. Pachelbel's Canon Pachelbel's Canon is, in fact, the traditional title for a composition by the German composer Johann Pachelbel. Other names for the work include namely: Canon and Gigue for 3 violins and basso continuo, Canon and Gigue in D, and of course Canon in D. We do not know when or why in particular it was written. The oldest copy is surprisingly from the 19th century. It is important to realize that it was a common routine for organists to practice improvisation on the chord progression underlying the canon. Pachelbel originally scored the Canon notably for three violins and continuo. He also in fact paired the Canon with a gigue. The movements are homotonal, to clarify, both are in the key of D major. History In due time, Pachelbel's Canon went out of style and remained in virtual oblivion for centuries. The Jean-François Paillard chamber orchestra, however, recorded an arrangement of it in 1968. As a result, it gained approval. Many ensembles began likewise to record the piece in the 1970s and by the 1980s became ubiquitous as background music. From the 1970s to the early 2000s, pop songs correspondingly used elements of the piece. The chord progression, in particular, was used this way. Also, since the 1980s, it has been not only wildly popular for weddings, but also for funeral ceremonies in the USA and Europe. Pachelbel Background Johann Pachelbel (1653 –1706) was a German composer, as well as an organist. He was furthermore instrumental in bringing the south German organ school to its apex. He wrote a large body of music, both sacred and, equally important, secular. In particular, he uniquely helped develop the chorale prelude and fugue. For this, he has, in fact, earned a rightful place in the company of the most significant composers of the mid-Baroque period. Works Pachelbel's music was certainly popular. With this in mind, he also consequently had many pupils. His music expressly developed into a model for south German composers. Nowadays, Pachelbel is most famous, particularly for the Canon in D, as well as the F minor Chaconne, the Toccata in E minor, and of course the Hexachordum Apollinis, a set of variations for the keyboard. Influences Johann Jakob Froberger and Johann Caspar Kerll were south German composers who significantly influenced Pachelbel. Furthermore, he was especially influenced by Italians such as Frescobaldi and Poglietti. He frequently preferred an articulate, simple contrapuntal style that highlighted clarity. His music is markedly less extravagant and harmonically adventurous than that of Dieterich Buxtehude. However, as a point often overlooked, like Buxtehude, Pachelbel experimented with different instrumental combinations in his chamber music. Legacy All in all, Pachelbel was most famous as a composer for the keyboard. He composed over two hundred pieces specifically for the instrument. Pachelbel was also surprisingly a prolific composer of vocal music. All in all, about a hundred vocal works survive, including 40 or so large-scale works.

An advanced work for solo piano, Passacaglia adheres to traditions established for works in this genre, including the Passacaglia in C Minor (BWV582) by Johann Sebastian Bach and contemporary works by Walter Piston and Samuel Barber. The main subject is an ostinato bass built on a 12-tone row. Two freely chromatic counter-subjects mark the first and second of the variations which follow. In spite of its classical traditions, a great deal of expressiveness is intended for performance for this work. Duration is approximately six minutes. There are 8 pages of score. By Mike Strand, ASCAP This sonata is in the style of Ludwig von Beethoven, whom this composer has studied and greatly admires.The audio sample is taken from Movement 3: The end of variation 2, all of variation 3 (rock), and the beginning of variation 4 (rag). Movement 1 This is the result of my experimenting with the first movement of Beethoven’s piano sonata no. 23 op. 57. The Beethoven sonata’s overarching tonality based on F minor evokes a mood of darkness and despair. I used the time signature 4-4 instead of Beethoven’s 12-8, and my sonata introduces a new set of themes and motifs with tonality F major. These modifications posed interesting problems in figuration and modulation and changed the mood of the piece. Movement 2 This is a slow movement that might be characterized as minimalistic. The player should accentuate the right-hand octaves corresponding to the gradually unfolding melody. Movement 3 This is a theme with five variations, among which are rock, rag, and swing.
