The Love of God, for Concert Band, Grade Level 2.5, dur. 4 mins.The lyrical nature of the tune combined with the powerful poem about God's love make this one of the greatest hymns ever. This arrangement maintains the power of the tune and represents the beauty of the poetry musically. Each verse has its own special setting corresponding to the words of the hymn. Starting in a mysterious, martial and subdued style, The Love of God develops into a strong but respectful to the hymn type of finale, complete with musical representations of the waves of the sea. It is accessible to High School groups but also appropriate for Community or College ensembles. Because of its history (see below) it can appeal to a wide range of faiths and inspire unity and peace. Audiences and performers alike are sure to find it inspiring and uplifting.---A little about the history of the hymn:Could we with ink the ocean fill, and were the skies of parchment made;Were every stalk on earth a quill, and every man a scribe by trade;To write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry;Nor could the scroll contain the whole, though stretched from sky to sky.These timeless words inspired Lehman to write The Love of God after they were found edged on the wall of an asylum patient's room. They are an adaptation and translation of a poem originally written in Aramaic by the Jewish Rabbi of Worms, Germany around the year 1050. This poem in turn is similar to a passage in the Qur'an. What an incredible journey for these great words: an ancient poem that has its roots in the Qur'an, later adapted by a Rabbi, written on the wall of an insane asylum by a patient, and finally taken up by a Christian to be the basis of a beautiful song. Colin Kirkpatrick’s National Anthems Express Slovenia National Anthem: Zdravljica This quick and easy national anthem arrangement is essential for traveling musicians, bands, instrumental groups and both amateur and professional ensembles. You can play it with any virtually any combination of instruments: symphonic band, clarinet choir, brass ensemble, brass band, solos, duets and trios - almost anything! This arrangement is in six independent parts each transposed into a variety of keys. For the most satisfying sound you’ll need to get a good balance between each part possibly with an emphasis on the melodic line. If you have a non-standard ensemble, you can pick 'n' mix as required. The piano reduction can fill missing parts or can be used as the basis for an accompaniment. This arrangement consists of a two-page score with seven instrumental staves and three percussion staves. The following parts are printed on separate pages. The score and all the parts are contained in the same pdf file. Part 1 in B flat (clarinet, trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn, soprano sax); Part 1 in C (flute, oboe, piccolo, glockenspiel, violin); Part 1 in E flat (alto sax, E flat clarinet); Part 1a in C (octave above concert for flute, piccolo, oboe, violin) and Part 1a in E flat (E flat cornet in brass band). There’s also a part for timpani, percussion (3 players) and a piano reduction. The arranger, Colin Kirkpatrick studied at London’s Royal College of Music and followed a career in music education. He was a High School Music Director for about fifteen years and later became a Music Education Adviser, with the added responsibility for training teachers and directing the instrumental teaching service. He has published a great deal of music and his publishers include Boosey & Hawkes, Novello, Paxton, Schott, Oxford University Press, Chester, Belwin Mills and Intrada (Netherlands). Set in 1985, the story follows Marty McFly (Fox), a teenager accidentally sent back to 1955 in a time-traveling DeLorean automobile built by his eccentric scientist friend Doctor Emmett Doc Brown (Lloyd). Trapped in the past, Marty inadvertently prevents his future parents' meeting-threatening his existence-and is forced to reconcile the pair and somehow get back to the future. Back to the Future was conceived of in 1980 by Gale and Zemeckis. They were desperate for a successful film after numerous collaborative failures, but their idea was rejected over 40 times by studios because it was not considered raunchy enough to compete with the successful comedies of the era. A development deal was secured following Zemeckis' success directing Romancing the Stone (1984). Fox was the first choice to portray Marty, but he was unavailable; Eric Stoltz was cast instead. Shortly after principal photography began in November 1984, Zemeckis determined Stoltz was not right for the part and made the concessions necessary to hire Fox. This included re-filming scenes already shot with Stoltz and adding $4 million to the budget. Back to the Future was filmed in and around California and on sets at Universal Studios. Filming concluded the following April. Replacing Stoltz delayed production and the film's release date but, following highly successful test screenings, the date was brought forward to July 3, 1985, to give Back to the Future more time in theaters. This resulted in a rushed post-production schedule, and some incomplete special effects. Back to the Future was a critical and commercial success, earning $381.1 million to become the highest-grossing film of 1985 worldwide. Critics praised the story, comedy, and the cast-particularly Fox, Lloyd, Thompson, and Glover. It received multiple award nominations and won an Academy Award, Saturn Awards, and a Hugo Award. Its theme song, The Power of Love by Huey Lewis and the News, was a significant success globally. In the years since its release, Back to the Future has grown in esteem and is now considered to be among the greatest films of the 1980s, one of the best science-fiction films ever made, and one of the greatest films of all time. We are happy that we were able to take some time to write a lot of new music. The king goes to battle, whilst away, the identical step-sister murders Domeicka. The king finds out about this, via a golden spinning wheel, who brings the girl back to life. Then king hears about what's happened, he punishes the sister and mother, and throws them to the wolves and lives happily ever after.
