The Love of God, for Concert Band, Grade Level 2.5, dur. 4 mins.The lyrical nature of the tune combined with the powerful poem about God's love make this one of the greatest hymns ever. This arrangement maintains the power of the tune and represents the beauty of the poetry musically. Each verse has its own special setting corresponding to the words of the hymn. Starting in a mysterious, martial and subdued style, The Love of God develops into a strong but respectful to the hymn type of finale, complete with musical representations of the waves of the sea. It is accessible to High School groups but also appropriate for Community or College ensembles. Because of its history (see below) it can appeal to a wide range of faiths and inspire unity and peace. Audiences and performers alike are sure to find it inspiring and uplifting.---A little about the history of the hymn:Could we with ink the ocean fill, and were the skies of parchment made;Were every stalk on earth a quill, and every man a scribe by trade;To write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry;Nor could the scroll contain the whole, though stretched from sky to sky.These timeless words inspired Lehman to write The Love of God after they were found edged on the wall of an asylum patient's room. They are an adaptation and translation of a poem originally written in Aramaic by the Jewish Rabbi of Worms, Germany around the year 1050. This poem in turn is similar to a passage in the Qur'an. What an incredible journey for these great words: an ancient poem that has its roots in the Qur'an, later adapted by a Rabbi, written on the wall of an insane asylum by a patient, and finally taken up by a Christian to be the basis of a beautiful song. Colin Kirkpatrick’s National Anthems Express Slovenia National Anthem: Zdravljica This quick and easy national anthem arrangement is essential for traveling musicians, bands, instrumental groups and both amateur and professional ensembles. You can play it with any virtually any combination of instruments: symphonic band, clarinet choir, brass ensemble, brass band, solos, duets and trios - almost anything! This arrangement is in six independent parts each transposed into a variety of keys. For the most satisfying sound you’ll need to get a good balance between each part possibly with an emphasis on the melodic line. If you have a non-standard ensemble, you can pick 'n' mix as required. The piano reduction can fill missing parts or can be used as the basis for an accompaniment. This arrangement consists of a two-page score with seven instrumental staves and three percussion staves. Fanfare for the Fallen seeks to honor those who have fallen in service and conjure the image of them marching into their glorious afterlife. Christianity holds that there is no greater love than laying down one's life for another, and many cultures believe that dying in battle yields glory in the great beyond. So whether marching into heaven, Valhalla or some other bright light at the end of the tunnel, let this music provide the soundtrack of trumpeting angels and one last ticker tape parade as these warriors are welcomed into their eternal home.This is a piece of intermediate difficulty with a nice melody and a John Williams' Olympic Fanfare feel to it. While the trumpets soar in their high registers for the heralding sections, the range for the rest of the piece (and the rest of the band) stays mostly in the center of the instruments. While 32nd notes are found here and there, the tempo sitting at around 80 keeps their difficulty, as well as the 16th note woodwind runs, in check. George Willson has been an performer, composer, and conductor for thirty years in various mediums and ensembles.Mp3 provided is a midi extracted from the composition program.

Samuel Coleridge-Taylor was born in Holborn, London on August 15, 1875 and died from pneumonia at the age of 37 in Croy- don, England on September 1, 1912. At an early age his grandfather began teaching him how to play the violin. His musical ability was obvious and at the age of 15, his extended family arranged for Taylor to study at the Royal College of Music. While at RCM he changed from violin to composition, working under professor Charles Villiers Stanford. His classmates included Ralph Vaughan Williams and Gustav Holst. He was later helped by Edward Elgar in 1898, who described Coleridge-Taylor as far and away the cleverest fellow going amongst the young men. By 1896, Coleridge-Taylor was earning a reputation as a composer and was also accepted as an excellent conductor. In 1898 at the age of 23 he composed the African Suite. Danse Nègre is the last of the four movements that make up the African Suite, Op. 35 (proceeded by Introduction, A Negro Love Song, and Valse). Coleridge-Taylor saw it as his mission in life to help establish the dignity of the black man. He was greatly influenced by black American poet P. L. Dunbar. He made three successful visits to the United States to great acclaim. In 1904, on his first USA tour he was received by President Theodore Roosevelt at the White House. Above all, though, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor was known as a man of great dignity and patience.

Set in 1985, the story follows Marty McFly (Fox), a teenager accidentally sent back to 1955 in a time-traveling DeLorean automobile built by his eccentric scientist friend Doctor Emmett Doc Brown (Lloyd). Trapped in the past, Marty inadvertently prevents his future parents' meeting-threatening his existence-and is forced to reconcile the pair and somehow get back to the future. Back to the Future was conceived of in 1980 by Gale and Zemeckis. John Ivor Holland #1031902. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1452596). In the mid 1960s, Roy Castle had a series of variety shows on BBC Television and Arthur Wilkinson was his musical director. On one of the shows, the celebrity guest was ballet star Doreen Wells who asked if she could dance to music of the Beatles. It fell to Wilkinson to arrange some of the hit songs for use by a ballerina. He hit on the idea of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite as a model; it was so popular that further movements were added for an EP recording and the complete Beatlecracker Suite is the result. The EP was issued throughout the world and was to be followed by an album if it did well enough, but it appears there was none. The movements are:1. Miniature Overture (Help!)2. March (When I'm 64)3.
