Published by BJE Music (A0.751050). The Ash Grove -The first published version of the tune was in 1802 in The Bardic Museum, a book written by the Welsh harpist Edward Jones. About four years later a version with words appeared, under the name Llwyn Onn. It tells of a sailor's love for Gwen of Llwyn. At the end of the song, Gwen dies, and in one version of the piece, the writer talks about him mourning and that she is lying 'neath the shades of the lonely ash grove. The tune might be much older, as a similar air appears in The Beggar's Opera by John Gay (1728), in the song Cease Your Funning. Tears Dry on Their Own is a song by English singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse (1983-2011) from her second and final studio album, 'Back to Black' (2006). It was released on 13 August 2007 as the album's fourth single. While the melody and lyrics are composed by Winehouse, the music behind her voice is an interpolation of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's 1967 song Ain't No Mountain High Enough, penned by husband-and-wife song-writing team Nickolas Ashford & Valerie Simpson. With a soul-Motown feel, this song became one of Winehouse's most popular and distinctive tracks and is featured in the documentary about her life 'Back to Black' and also in the 2024 motion picture, which shares the same title, starring Marisa Abela as Amy. Opening with a majestic flourish, this arrangement soon settles into the familiar sound of the recording, with added alto saxophone solo section at the end and a reflective close, featuring horn duet. A must for any summery-feel good concert and a great way to remember this fabulous performer, gone too soon.

This classic Christmas tune was famously performed by Stevie Wonder. This arrangement was inspired by the John Legend cover and the original. It features a soloistic Vibes part that will showcase your best mallet player. The alto sax is showcased with the melody throughout most of the chart. No matter the size of your group, this Christmas classic is sure to delight an audience of any age. Written for a full wind ensemble, this chart is at home in any venue. Many of the parts are single parts, and the doubling is done to facilitate performance by any number of differing instrumentations. The opening build is marked in the tuba part to add players every 4 bars. It is recommended that the tuba part be split across the section to allow individual players to get a rest. There is an optional bass part to supplement the tuba, bari sax, and bass clarinet if one is available. The optional bass clef marimba part also doubles the bass line throughout.
