John Ivor Holland #977342. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1393874). Somewhere in My Heart is a song by Scottish band Aztec Camera. It was released as the third single from their third studio album, Love (1987). Released as a single in 1988, the track peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart and became a top-40 hit in Australia and Ireland. Songwriter Roddy Frame said in 2014 that the song has been great for him, but at the time of creating the album, the song was not in keeping with the other songs. Around this time, Frame had become somewhat of a recluse, living in a remote wooden shack in Hollywood, Marple Bridge, in the hills above Manchester, going through periods of good and bad mental health, while continuing to write music, including the lyric from Westwood to Hollywood in the song. The distinctive saxophone sound is retained and towards the end is an opportunity for your star alto and tenor to solo or battle, to close out the song in the way that it is often performed live by Aztec Camera. The song is featured prominently in the 2019 film '47 Meters Down: Uncaged' and the 2020 Netflix series 'I Am Not Okay with This'.

This bombastic Concerto by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov was composed in 1877 whilst still a serving naval officer, for fellow marine musician; it was premiered in March 1878 at Kronstadt, with the international premiere not taking place until the summer of 1952 in New York City. The work consists of three short movements, the second and third including cadenza sections for the soloist. The duration of the Concerto stands at around 10 minutes. Although written for the tenor trombone, the Concerto is standard repertoire amongst bass trombonists, as the composer makes few demands on the very high register of the instrument. Indeed, in common with solo trombone works of the period, the Concerto encompasses the full downward range of the instrument, including in the 3rd movement cadenza notes that are so low as to be usually unobtainable (and therefore played up an octave) by latter-day tenor trombonists. This arrangement has been rescored from the condensed piano arrangement for modern day concert band.

So he composed Don Carlos first in French, and he also had to deliver a ballet. Ballo della regina is kept as an interlude in the third act of the opera, which premiered on 11 March 1865 at Opéra National de Paris. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg. Due to an overlength program they performed not the whole ballet music, but only the final. It was first time performed conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January 2017 at the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria. Mephistopheles and Faust pass by, and Mephistopheles induces Faust to enter and take part in the festivities. Mephistopheles snatches the fiddle from the hands of a lethargic fiddler and draws from it indescribably seductive and intoxicating strains. The amorous Faust whirls about with a full-blooded village beauty in a wild dance; they waltz in mad abandon out of the room, into the open, away into the woods. The sounds of the fiddle grow softer and softer, and the nightingale warbled his love-laden song. Mephisto Waltz No. 1 is paired with a work preceding it, Midnight Procession (Der Nächtliche Zug), however this piece is not as widely performed. Liszt later transcribed the waltz into a piano duet and a virtuosic solo piano work. Each of these versions were written around the same time, roughly 1859-62. The orchestral version also has an alternate ending, which is softer and fades away. This arrangement features both endings. This work was then followed by three more Mephisto Waltzes. No. 2 was also written as both an orchestral and piano work, while Nos. 3 and 4 were for piano only. Of the four, the first is the most popular, although the third is also praised as highly musically. It is based entirely on the musical pitches extracted from his name (FFrAAnk BABAttisti), forming the musical motive F A B A. In order to recognize the arc of his life and career, Day Dreams traces a metaphorical day. The movement titles all come from Thoreau's Walden---a place very close to where Frank spent a good part of his life. The work begins with a dramatic sunrise. The second movement represents morning (or youth), and juxtaposes two extremely contrasting and seemingly irreconcilable types of material, typical of that stage of life. The third movement explores the afternoon (adulthood), a period of sophisticated balancing of life's many forces. The final movement is a sunset, with each individual player saying goodbye.
