The National Anthem of Montenegro arranged for Symphony Orchestra. There are versions for Brass Quintet & String Orchestra in my on-line stores.Oj, svijetla majska zoro (Montenegrin Cyrillic: „Ој, Ñвијетла мајÑка зоро, trans. Oh, Bright Dawn of May) is the official National anthem of Montenegro adopted in 2004. Before becoming the anthem, it was a popular folk song of the Montenegrins, with many variations of its text. The oldest one is dated to the 2nd half of the 19th century, known as Oh, Bright Dawn of Heroism, oh!, a popular Montenegrin folk song.It was played in public for the first time in 1863 in the national theater in Belgrade. It was a component song of the Battle of Grahovo or blood feud in Montenegro (Бој на Грахову или крвна оÑвета у Црној Гори) heroic play in three parts. It is unknown if the text’s authors are also the play’s, namely the following Montenegrin composer/writers: the father of Marko Car Jovan Car and an unknown Obrad Vitković. The play and the Montenegrin folk song was also played/sung in the National Theater again in 1870 and 1876. Its first record in Montenegro itself dates to 1887, when it was included into the regular school program of Montenegrin national songs for pupils in the 3rd grade. It was reconfirmed in the teacher’s plan for Montenegrin schools of 1888, which speculates that it must have been an established folk song for decades by then.Sekule Drljević, party strongman of a minor political party which was active in the Yugoslavian Kingdom in Montenegro known as the Montenegrin Federalist Party, rewrote the text and published it in 1937 in the book of then’s Croatian writer of Montenegrin origins Savić Marković Å tedimlija known as Crvena Hrvatska (Red Croatia), which confounded the thesis not of a Serb ethnic origin of the Montenegrins, which was the dominant one back then, but rather from the Croats. Its name was Eternal Ours… (VjeÄna naÅ¡a). When Nikola Hercigonja wrote down Oh, Bright Dawn of May shortly after WWII ended after 1945, he erroneously concluded that Drljević was the original wholesale author of this song, which also led to its considerable decline in popularity as a Montenegrin folk song altogether.The song survived until today under various names as a popular Montenegrin folk song under the name Oh, Bright Dawn of May (Oj svijetla majska zoro). This version of the song has been one of the several versions proposed in 1993 during the first discussion on the official anthem, however, on which there was no consensus because of the disputed melodic value.Need an anthem fast? The Wayfinder, a small ship floating aimlessly through space. This song is the story of their adventures as they explore the galaxy. Variations on a Theme: Wayfinder was written in response to what felt like a general lack of more showy, almost cinematic tunes available publicly for full orchestra, at least ones that weren't arrangements of other movie songs. Wayfinder provides a song that's both fun to play and listen to, while also offering a fair challenge to younger high school orchestra groups to make sure they are listening to other members of the orchestra and keeping their parts balanced between them. It is suggested that, when rehearsing this piece, one emphasize a focus on listening carefully, as well a careful balance between parts played staccato and legato, as well as to bring attention to the multiple tempo changes that occur throughout the piece. .

The Symphonic variations on the theme of the Bulgarian folk song 'Kitchitse, buyna loboda' (roughly translated as 'A bunch of luxuriant saltbush') were written in the summer of 2014 and eventualy were awarded with 2nd prize at the 14th International composition competition in 7/8 (Sofia, Bulgaria). The structure is introduction, theme, 7 variations (whose subtitles come from the respective lines of lyrics of the song) and coda. We present a work composed as a tongue-in-cheek expression of a popular street tune heard today, put through a series of 5 variations that explore different styles. It works in both a satirical as well as sophisticated manner vertically and horizontally, and uses multiple cliches that will get the audience perking up in recognition. The theme, 贺新年, is a common tune sung in Chinese New Year celebrations. In the heart of celebrating the New Year, this piece is written playable by musicians of all ages, whether in schools or as community orchestras and bands, to come together by the common celebratory notion in a work for an extended orchestra, including the saxophone and euphonium. Written by Daniel Cheng and Jeremy Goh, we hope that this season this piece can bring both laughter and reverence to the street tune, blown out of proportion in style and size. Starting the work is an atonal entry, built on tone rows and planing, legacies of Shoenberg and his contemporaries, before decomposing into an exceedingly lively statement of the theme. This is then juxtaposed beside a trip to tribal communities with interlocking rhythms and a modal distortion of the melody. From the modal mess and deviation from diatonicism, we then return to the prim and proper style of Mozart and Haydn in a short Classical variation. As if to mock its neat stature, this then is shattered with a juxtaposition beside a variation in the style of Shostakovich, modelled after the controversial Leningrad symphony, which draws on a different dimension of the theme, its banality, and propagating and emulsifying it to terrifying levels as it is distorted. Finally, a schreckenfanfare is directed marking an entry into a tribute to one of the greatest legends in music composition, with Beethoven along with its transcendental qualities of cyclism, and use of learned styles, methods of maintaining tension etc., bringing a grand ending to the 10 minute long work.

The original version of this music was written for piano in 3 hands (teacher and student). I have orchestrated this for a large symphony orchestra. Equally important is participation of a child of 4-5 years old as a soloist, who will be playing on the piano the main theme of Tati-Tati at the beginning and at the end.It all started as a musical joke from Borodin in a circle of his friends-composers: Rimsky-Korsakov, Cui and Lyadov. The joke turned into collective work which resulted into 24 variations with the finale paraphrasing Tati-Tati. I usually tell this story to the audience before performing. 24 Variations with Finale is an composition that is oriented for family and children symphonic concerts, when the educational part is of great importance for the young listeners to understand classical music, the sound and characteristics of individual musical instruments and groups of the orchestra, what development principles are used by each composer, etc. F. Liszt gave the best assessment to this composition. Each verse and chorus is slightly different, like a series of variations.This arrangement was originally created for the Kansas City Symphony's Symphony in the Flint Hills event in 2022, an annual outdoor concert which traditionally ends with a crowd singing along to this, the state song of Kansas. The key is a friendly E flat, and the text is provided on the second page of the score. MarcoPolo Press #5755357. Published by MarcoPolo Press (A0.1021047). Sinfonietta No.1 (Transformations) is an intermediate orchestral pieces in four movements that is almost 10 minutes (9:53) long. It is called a sinfonietta because, while it has the elements of a full symphony, it is shorter. The entire piece is based on the motif in the first bar of the first movement, and that motif get transformed (hence the subtitle Transformations) in many different ways. It is like how a person changes in various situations and in various stages of their life. The first movement (Allegretto) is in sonata form, the second (Andante Adagio) is in a quasi ABA form, the third (Scherzoish) is a Baroque-like quasi scherzo and trio with a modified scherzo at the end, and the fourth (Theme & Variations) is a theme with 3 variations, but elements of the first 3 movements are repeated at the end. .

The Keyboard suite in D minor (HWV 437) was composed by George Frideric Händel, for solo keyboard (harpsichord), between 1703 and 1706. It is also referred to as Suite de pièce Vol. 2 No. 4. It was first published in 1733.The piece was used in an orchestral arrangement for Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon. Dutch singer Petra Berger used the Sarabande as the musical setting for her song about Mary, Queen of Scots, Still a Queen (In My End Is My Beginning), from her album Eternal Woman (2001). An orchestral version was also used on the first episode of the 2018 television mini-series of Agatha Christie's A.B.C. Murders, starring John Malkovich as Poirot.This beautiful arrangement for orchestra brings in its variations, an intercalation of orchestral forces and different climaxes. The first part of the theme starts on the strings accompanied by the continuum. The second part includes the metals and the tympani. In the first variation, the theme is played by a group of strings, within a chamber proposal. In the third variation, the strings give way to the woodwinds, where horns, trombones talk to the woodwinds. In the fourth variation, the same group of winds remains, but they are accompanied by the ow strings. Finally, in the last variation, the orchestral force appears with brilliance and intensity.

This beautiful melody by John Barry was used for the 80s movie Somewhere in Time with Jane Seymour and Chritopher Reeve, considered by some to be the most romantic movie ever. This arrangement for string orchestra is complemented by piano which also has some solo parts like a mini piano concerto. Actually, the piece draws from two melodic sources, the main theme by John Barry, as well as a second theme composed by Sergei Rachmaninoff, who in turn wrote it as a series of variations based on a theme by Paganini.
