The Coventry Carol originates from a medieval mystery play entitled The Pageant of the Shearmen and Tailors. The play depicts the Christmas story, from the Annunciation (where the Angel Gabriel appears to Mary), to the Massacre of the Innocents (where King Herod of Judea orders the death of all male infants near Bethlehem under the age of two). It is this tale that the Coventry Carol depicts, taking the form of a lullaby sung by the mothers of the murdered children. As is appropriate, the music is in a minor key – this arrangement uses G minor and D minor as a homage to well-known harmonisations by Thomas Sharp and Henry Walford Davies. It is unknown when the words were first set to music, but a proposed date is 1591, or earlier! Other interesting musical features include the use of a ‘Picardy third’, and ‘false relations’, contributing to the haunting quality of this enduring piece, both in the heart of the English Midlands, and further afield. This arrangement is suitable for all orchestras of beginner-intermediate ability or higher. There is plenty of interest for both experienced players, and for newcomers. The instrumentation is designed to facilitate both a full sound, but also for flexibility, which is often desired by school, youth, and amateur orchestras. Divertimento is a work for full orchestra not to be taken too seriously! It is a diversion! It contains 5 very diverse movements. First a prelude; second a generic ragtime tune; third a quiet reverie featuring a flute trio; fourth a march to the saloon on Saturday night and five a finale based on a hymn tune from the Sacred Harp. Each movement is short. Whole work is about 9' 30. All string parts are suitable for the average community orchestra. I have conducted the work with two different community orchestras and feedback was positive from both musicians and audience members.

Flute Concerto (2006) was commissioned by flutist Judith von Hopf and theKiev Philharmonic and premiered by them under the direction of GuidoLamell. The work is in two movements: Chanson and Fantasy Variations.The first movement, Chanson, is an extended “song†that develops through avariety of textures. The opening song material is centered around G#. In turn,this G# is revealed to be a quasi-dominant of a D centered sonority. (A briefcoda returns to G#, in preparation for the D center of the second movement.)The second movement, Fantasy Variations, is cast as two presentations ofthe theme surrounding five free variations, plus a coda. The theme serves asthe basis of the musical material for each variation as well as the structuraltemplate for each. Also, each variation contains material referring backspecifically to the previous variation.The opening theme is declamatory and massive. The first variation is fastand limber. The second variation is introspective and stratified. The thirdvariation is fleeting. The fourth variation is distant and spare. The fifthvariation is fast and driving. The final theme begins whispered and slowlyregains its declamatory nature before a brief and intense coda ends the workin a blaze.This item is the score and the solo part only. "Bicycle Race" is a single by the British rock band Queen. It was released on their 1978 album Jazz and written by Queen's lead singer Freddie Mercury. It was released as a double A-side single together with the song "Fat Bottomed Girls". The song is notable for its video featuring a bicycle race with nude women at Wimbledon Stadium, which was controversial at the time, with the video being edited or even banned in several countries.
The song was written by Freddie Mercury and was inspired by watching the 18th stage of the 1978 Tour de France passing Montreux, where the band were recording Jazz in the Mountain Studios. It starts with a chorus unaccompanied by instruments. The chorus is followed by two verses connected with a bridge, both followed by a chorus. Around the middle of the song is a solo played with numerous bicycle bells. The song has an unusual chord progression with numerous modulations, a change of metre in the bridge, and multitracked vocal and guitar harmonies.

The title,What Child We Sing, is a play on two traditional Christmas carols, What Child Is This and Sing We Now of Christmas, which are the basis of this new work. What Child Is This is almost always paired wth the 16th Century English tune, Greensleeves, a ballad of unrequited love. Both the text and tune of Sing We Now of Christmas come from a traditional French Christmas carol, Noel Nouvelet, believed to be even older than Greensleeves. These two traditional Christmas carols blend together in several ways so as to make the compilation into one work a natural result. Both tunes are set in a minor mode with a very similar narrow melodic range that effortlessly flow together. The question of what child lies in the manger is answered in the refrain of Sing We Now of Christmas with the proclamation, Sing We Noel, the King is born, Noel. The result turns out not to be a medley but a melding of two distincts into one union, What Child We Sing?What Child We Sing best works in the Advent or Christmas seasons with its strong exposition of traditional Christmas carols and would be suitable in a sacred concert or as a prelude, offertory, or reflective music in either liturgical or unstructured service. It has sufficient artistic metric to be suitable for the concert stage as well, although it is not at all difficult, being suitable for intermediate or higher level musicians.

Written in 2007 for the Luton Symphony Orchestra in Bedfordshire, England, the Anasazi Overture is a fun and crowd-pleasing concert overture that combines beautiful Coplandesque string playing with exciting Hans Zimmer style brass. The piece is based on two Native American folk tunes; A Hopi lullaby and a Pueblo corn grinding song. The instrumentation of the piece is without percussion as the original intent of the work was to Make it cheap to play. It features double winds and brass with the exception of a 3rd horn part. The level of playing for the strings is quite advanced and the piece is suitable for all-county, all-state, youth orchestras, semiprofessional and professional groups.Some of the advanced techniques required involve heavy double-stopping and high shifting positions for the strings and Hans Zimmer style cuivre for the horns (NOTE: NOT STOPPED HORN) as well as upward rips.The included MP3 recording is the first live performance of the work by the amateur group it was composed for, but I am confident that this piece will prove to be fun and exciting to play for even professional orchestras. This set contains 1 of each part. Permission is given to create copies of the parts for each player in the orchestra as needed. The work has been quite popular with those who have played it. Crimson Bow and Arrow) is one of two songs created by the Japanese band Linked Horizon for the double A-side track of their three-track single Jiyū e no Shingeki. The full version of the song was released by Pony Canyon on 10 July 2013, and would be most notable for its use as the first intro to the anime Attack on Titan.The song was the first anime theme the band Linked Horizon would create, being composed using a blend of musical genres as well as Japanese and German language lyrics. Since first being used in the anime, the song has had multiple musical artists perform cover versions of the song, and has been played most notably at the 64th NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen and during major sporting events in Japan, including at the 2020 Summer Olympics. The song would reach the number one spot on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 and Hot Animation charts upon its debut, and would receive four awards for its melody and animation by the end of 2013.
