It has such finely balanced musicality as a song and tugs the heart strings with its gentle lilting narrative of the unassuming bird lady on the steps of St. Paul's Cathedral.This arrangement tries to capture the magic of the original song, using some occasional harmonic ideas from the stage musical version as well. She constantly feels judged and compared to others, and she's tired of feeling like she's not good enough.However, the song's protagonist eventually realizes that she is the only one who can define who she is. She sings, I'm the only one who knows what I want to be. She realizes that she doesn't need to change herself to please others. She is perfect the way she is.The song ends with the protagonist declaring that she is going to be the girl she wants to be. She sings, I'm gonna be the girl I wanna be, no matter what they say. She is determined to be herself, no matter what others think.
