Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1400367 Composed by Jerry Goldsmith. Arranged by Chris Siddall. Film/TV. 9 pages. Chris Siddall Music Publishing #983553. Published by Chris Siddall Music Publishing (A0.1400367). Director Phillip Noyce, who had helmed the previous two entries in the Jack Ryan franchise (with scores by James Horner), was replaced at the last minute on 2002’s The Sum of All Fears by Phil Alden Robinson. Despite his prior collaborations with Robinson, Horner stepped aside and thus the scoring assignment went to Jerry Goldsmith.  In the years following his magnificent stretch of production in 1998 and 1999,  Goldsmith’s output had slowed to a crawl and The Sum of All Fears proved to be a welcome return to form. Featuring a song which was later revealed to be an extension of his tribute to the victims of the 9/11 attacks, Goldsmith created an outstanding score with moments of solemn beauty contrasted with robust action music.Created from the original manuscript, this release offers a rare opportunity to study film music in its authentic, original orchestration and arrangement. An opportunity not to be missed!

The charm lies in the fact that complete silence does not occur, where there is an audience you can hear the ambient sound: The sum of the breaths, the small movements, coughs... The sound qualities of the air itself and the reverberation of the room. The spectator suddenly discovers that the piece of music is composed of the sounds that surround him and of which he is not usually aware, including his own breathing, the beating of his heart or even the plaintive sound of his own shoes. In society, noise, as in this case, sound in music is present in our daily lives, forgetting to appreciate and the importance of silence. Silence does not have to give a feeling of fear. Appreciate silence, giving it that perception of inner peace and balance, equally linked to perseverance, that perseverance that occurs with music, with its constancy and persistence making it flow. Thus, just as each musical figure has its corresponding silence representing its same value and duration. Although the painter Pablo Picasso said that you have to learn the rules like a professional to be able to break them like an artist, reaffirming what Don Blas Infante, father of the Andalusian homeland (Spain), said: any paper on the ground must always be read , since any role can be important. Music scores and the time spent making them do not take the degree of value in human beings of this century. When they own it for themselves.https://youtu.be/GvEx1Bn2HS8?si=IW1ZUw1yFcJzz0uf

Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.742589 By The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Javier MartÃnez Maya. Contemporary. Score and parts. 54 pages. Arte Nova Music Lab #6431891. Published by Arte Nova Music Lab (A0.742589). You've Got to Hide Your Love Away is a song by the English rock band the Beatles. It was written and sung by John Lennon (though credited to Lennon–McCartney) and released on the album Help! in August 1965.Lennon said of the song, That's me in my Dylan period again. I am like a chameleon, influenced by whatever is going on. If Elvis can do it, I can do it. If the Everly Brothers can do it, me and Paul can. Same with Dylan. The song is an early example of John self-reflecting in his writing, which had begun with songs such as I'm a Loser in the summer of 1964. Lennon wrote the song at home, wanting another song for the film Help!. The song is just basically John doing Dylan, Paul McCartney confirmed. The song is similar to a folkish strophic form and uses a Dylanesque acoustic guitar figure in compound duple time, chiefly acoustic accompaniment, no backing voices and light percussion from brushed snare, tambourine and maraca. A flute, however, replaces the harmonica that Dylan typically used. Taken from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/You%27ve_Got_to_Hide_Your_Love_Away

Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.OMS171). 9 x 12 in inches.Although the word Anishinaabeg, best translated as those whence descended or the noble people, refers to many of thenumerous Algonquin indigenous peoples of North America, it is here used specifically in reference to the Ojibwe of theUpper Peninsula of Michigan. It was here that the composer spent many summers and it was those memories that allowedthe Anishinaabeg Rhapsody to come into being. This particular composition is a symphonic tone poem which, unlike the majority of orchestral music which is able to standalone as pure musical thought, evokes historic, pictorial or literary subject matter. In other words, the composer paintsimages and thoughts through sound. The Anishinaabeg Rhapsody, which is scored for 2 flutes, 2 oboes, English horn, 3 clarinets in Bb, 2 bassoons, 4 horns andstrings, conjures images of the wind gently blowing through the pines, the purling of meandering streams, the rippling andwaving of grasslands, the thunderous waterfalls crashing hundreds of feet over cliffs into Lake Superior; in short, it portraysNature itself.

Published by Silver Sickle Publications (A0.1438982). Aegean Fire Magnus My music always has a cinematographic attitude, as if it wants to follow a film that has not yet been created. With this work, the listener could wander and experience life around a Greek island. In the beginning, a Greek dance unfolds that develops into a faint prayer; shortly after, a waltz as a distant memory surfaces. The first theme of the work reappears to end the work in a triumphal and frenzy happy fiesta. The idea of the work came after a suggestion by Panos Liaropoulos to compose a string quartet for the summer of 2015. ‘Aegean Fire’ had its premiere in Greece by L’Anima string quartet and shortly after in Boston in February 2016. The Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra under Francisco Noya presented the orchestral version ‘Aegean Fire Magnus’ in its American premiere in 2016 at Jordan Hall in Boston..

The author's intent was to work on melodic-harmonic-rhythmic materials always attributable to the Fibonacci numerical series, hence, as a consequence, the choice of the title, Nautilus, finding the natural expression in the artistic perfection of said shell of the logarithmic spiral to which the golden section is applied. The form of symphonic movement that emerged has a rhapsodic flowThe choice of the sounds of the harmonic field of the first part (bar 0-50) is therefore based on the numerical series (based on a scale of 10 sounds), tracing each sound of the scale to a number from 0 to 9 and making them correspond to the numbers of the series of Fibonacci from 1 to 267,914,296.The second part (bars 51-64) is based on a harmonic field of 9 sounds which, when superimposed, generate 9 triads formed by superimposed 4ths which are used at a distance of 2, 3 or 5 beats (series of F. , from the 3rd to the 6th number). In this section, isorhythmy is used according to groupings of values that can be numerically traced back to the series.A short third part (bars 65-80) is inserted as an expressive moment: it is based on a scale of 7 sounds (spaced proportionally from each other according to the logarithmic spiral: from the 1/4 tone to the major 3rd).In the next and final section the isorhythmic part is resumed with small changes in the closing coda.

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1086971 Composed by Claude Debussy/Robert Orledge. Classical,Contemporary,Opera. Score and parts. 32 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #691161. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.1086971). Scored for baritone (or counter-tenor) soloist, mixed chorus and orchestra (2222/2200/timp/2perc/hp/cel/mand/strings). Fêtes galantes was actually planned as a hybrid opera-ballet to a libretto by Debussy’s friend Louis Laloy in November, 1913. For this, Laloy arranged selected poetry by Paul Verlaine into three tableaux, replacing an earlier (unstarted) Debussyan project with Charles Morice of 1912 entitled Crimen amoris. During his last productive summer of 1915, Debussy set a sequence from the start of the first tableau, ‘Les Masques’, involving stanzas 1 and 3 of the opening song for Mezzetin in Verlaine’s comedy Les Uns et les autres (1884). The action is set in a park à la Watteau late one summer afternoon as Mezzetin attempts to entertain a group of nonchalant masqueraders with only the aid of his voice and a mandolin.. This appears to have been prefaced by a slower, elegiac introduction reminiscent of the opening of the comtemporary Cello Sonata and it leads to a danced minuet by the masqued dancers which has clear echoes of the piano piece L’Isle joyeuse (1904). Following Laloy’s scenario, the masqueraders then sing extracts from Verlaine’s ‘A la promenade’ (from Fêtes galantes itself). The minuet returns at greater length before being cut short by a chilly gust of wind, after which the park returns to its orginal state (and music) as though nothing had really happened.

Full Orchestra - Digital Download SKU: A0.1008374 Composed by Claude Debussy. Arranged by Arkady Leytush. 20th Century. Score and parts. 24 pages. Arkady Leytush #4849775. Published by Arkady Leytush (A0.1008374). Estampes (Engravings) is the title of the triptych of three pieces which Debussy put together in 1903. The first complete performance was given on 9 January 1904 in the Salle Erard, Paris, by the young Spanish pianist Ricardo Viñes, who was already emerging as the prime interpreter of the new French music of Debussy and Ravel. The first two pieces were completed in 1903, but the third derives from an earlier group of pieces from 1894, collectively titled Images, which remained unpublished until 60 years after Debussy’s death, when they were printed as Images (oubliées). Estampes marks an expansion of Debussy’s keyboard style: he was apparently spurred to fuse neo-Lisztian technique with a sensitive, impressionistic pictorial impulse under the impact of discovering Ravel’s Jeux d’eau, published in 1902. The opening movement, ‘Pagodes’, is Debussy’s first pianistic evocation of the Orient and is essentially a fixed contemplation of its object, as in a Chinese print. This static impression is partly caused by Debussy’s use of long pedal-points, partly by his almost constant preoccupation with pentatonic melodies which subvert the sense of harmonic movement. He uses such pentatonic fragments in many different ways: in delicate arabesques, in two-part counterpoint, in canon, harmonized in fourths and fifths and as an underpinning for pattering, gamelan-like ostinato writing. Altogether the piece reflects the decisive impression made on him by hearing Javanese and Cambodian musicians at the 1889 Paris Exposition, which he had striven for years to incorporate effectively in music. In its final bars the music begins to dissolve into elaborate filigree.Just as ‘Pagodes’ was his first Oriental piece, so ‘La soirée dans Grenade’ was the first of Debussy’s evocations of Spain-that preternatural embodiment of an ‘imaginary Andalusia’ which would inspire Manuel de Falla, the native Spaniard, to go back to his country and create a true modern Spanish music based on Debussyan principles. Debussy’s personal acquaintance with Spain was virtually non-existent (he had spent a day just over the border at San Sebastian) and it is possible that one model for the piece was Ravel’s Habanera. Yet he wrote of this piece (to his friend Pierre Louÿs, to whom it was dedicated), ‘if this isn’t the music they play in Granada, so much the worse for Granada!’-and there is no debate about the absolute authenticity of Debussy’s use of Spanish idioms here. Falla himself pronounced it ‘characteristically Spanish in every detail’. ‘La soirée dans Grenade’ is founded on an ostinato that echoes the rhythm of the habanera and is present almost throughout. Beginning and ending in almost complete silence, this dark nocturne of warm summer nights builds powerfully to its climaxes. The melodic material ranges from a doleful Moorish chant with a distinctly oriental character to a stamping, vivacious dance-measure, taking in brief suggestions of guitar strumming and perfumed Impressionist haze. There is even a hint of castanets near the end. The piece fades out in a coda that seems to distil all the melancholy of the Moorish theme and a last few distant chords of the guitar. ‘Jardins sous la pluie’ is based on the children’s song ‘Nous n’rons plus au bois’ (We shan’t go to the woods): its original 1894 form was in fact entitled Quelques aspects de ‘Nous n’rons plus au bois’. The two versions are really two distinct treatments of the same set of ideas, but in ‘Jardins sous la pluie’ Estampes the earlier piece has been entirely rethought. The whole conception is more impressionistic, and subtilized. The teeming semiquaver motion is more all-pervasive, the tunes (for Debussy has added a second children’s song for treatment, ‘Do, do, l’enfant do’) more elusive and tinged sometimes with melancholy or nostalgia. The ending of the piece is entirely new. What it loses, perha.

Published by Arkady Leytush (A0.1008372). Published by Juan Carlos Guerra Gonzalez (A0.1208333). “Munamiktia†(To marry) is based on the six sones from “Los Chapetones†(a folkloric dance from Panchimalco, El Salvador). “Los Chapetones†is a satiric dance portraying the social constructs of the Colonial time. It represents a wedding between Doña Lucrecia de Castilla and Don Tomás Rainer with the intention of making an alliance between Turkey and Spain. The investigation of this dance and its original music was made possible thanks to Aracely Sánchez (cultural researcher), Marcial Gudiel (folkloric dance researcher), and Concepción Clará de Guevara (anthropologist) for the creation of the work “Panchimalco†in 1982 work that was commissioned by the National Dance School of El Salvador “Morena Celariéâ€. The editors of the “Diccionario de la Música Española e Hispanoamericana†(Dictionary of Spanish and Hispanic Music) found this dance was unique in its genre in America and the Caribbean making “Los Chapetones†something exclusive from El Salvador. For this work, a part of each one of the sones is transformed in its rhythm or intervals to put them in melodies or in lines for the bass that have been harmonized in a different way while interacting with themes created especially for this work. The title, which in Nahuat means to marry, also serves as a reference to the union between the traditional themes used and the composer’s own musical language. Munamiktia (To marry) was written for the Salvadoran Composers Competition organized by the Pan American Symphony Orchestra (PASO) in Washington, DC. Given its originality, the Jury decided, after a long deliberation, to award it second place. The World Premiere will take place during their 21/22 season after PASO resumes activities due to COVID.* The actual World Premiere took place on March 25th, 2023 in Washington D.C. With the Pan American Symphony Orchestra (PASO) conducted by the composer. For parts please visit www.juancarlosguerra.com/munamiktia

Composed between the 21st July & the 18th October 2021, my 3rd Symphony, at around 34 minutes in duration, is the longest of my three symphonies to date & my most substantial purely orchestral score. The Symphony is in four movements following a fast-slow-fast-slow format. It is a dark probing & at times disturbing score. The Symphony makes much use of the very dark Locrian mode with its prominent diminished 5th (tritone). The 1st movement is angry & driven with a swirling energy. The 2nd movement is a kind of sad processional which builds to protesting battering climax before ending in a sense of resignation. The 3rd movement marked 'with malice' ranges from a sense of waspish humour to downright arrogant brutallity. The slow 4th movement is the longest movement, the opening hinting at two works by Wagner & Holst. The movement has a sense of questioning & searching, perhaps a single word 'why?' sums the movement up & to some extent the Symphony too. Parts are available upon request.

This is the second movement of my orchestral tone poem about Prague, This movement gives a musical picture of the three most famous kings of Prague, King Wnceslas, King Vitas and King Adalbert (Sigismund). Each played a major part in the history of Prague and the Czech republic. The movement is divided into three sections which are summed up by the final section as we see the River Vltava flowing through the great city on its way to the sea. At just over 6 minutes this would be a great piece for a light concert.

Juan Maria Solare #820190. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.1224099). Orchestraining is a cycle of orchestral studies, each of which focuses on different aspects of performance. These studies are specifically designed for non-professional orchestras, although any orchestra will improve by playing some of these pieces during rehearsals. It is always necessary to pay attention to intonation and many other aspects of orchestral performance. In addition, these studies are also useful for orchestral conducting students. For example, it is essential to know how to conduct a simultaneous attack of a chord that does not begin on the first beat, but a eighth note after the third beat.I began writing these studies around 2013, when I took over the direction of the Bremer Orchestergemeinschaft and noticed the complete absence of repertoire of this kind. As a pianist, I am accustomed to studies by Carl Czerny or playing scales. Each individual instrumentalist knows studies of technique for their instrument. However, there are no, or at least I am not aware of, similar studies for orchestral performance technique and the specific difficulties of ensemble playing that it requires. The cycle Orchestraining aims to fill this gap.The particular study Orchestraining Nr. 01 focuses on the subject of simultaneous attacks, presenting a series of staccato chords in different parts of the bar.

This classic song by John Barry and Tim Rice originally sung by Rita Coolidge comes from Roger Moore's last Bond appearance in Octopussy. This is a film very much of its time, many dry double-entendre from our leading man for sure which might raise a Moore-like eyebrow these days. Likewise the song here is perhaps one of the lesser played James Bond title tracks too but it is a charming departure from some of the higher octane anthems like Thunderball, Live and let die or even Goldfinger and returns us to the gentler musical era / genre of From Russia with love, For your eyes only and You only live twice. So why not program this in your film night for singer and orchestra. In this version we have the original Rita Coolidge performancxe key (starting in E major) which is dusky and mellow but is also available on this website a semitone/half-step higher (strarting in F major) which might suit some female performers ranges better.INSTRUMENTATION:2 Flutes2 Oboes2 Clarinets[Optional 2nd clarinet dbl. Original by Johann Strauss II Reduction to String Orchestra by Aaron Meier Part: Full Score ONLY True to the original work by Strauss, this reduction for string orchestra features the ornaments and mystical writing that defines Strauss' polkas. There are optional percussion parts to be added at the discretion of the ensemble, however even without percussion the ensemble will sound full (the percussion acts as an ornament). On that day, amid accompanying splendour, the music-loving Grand Duke Michail Nikolaievich (1832-1909), youngest brother of Tsar Alexander II, married Princess Caecilie of Baden (1839-91), daughter of Archduke Leopold of Baden. Johann Strauss, who at that time was giving a summer season of concerts in nearby Pavlovsk, used the opportunity occasioned by the event to enhance his already enviable popularity with the Russian royal family and composed the Caecilien-Polka in honour of the lovely young bride. Indeed, it is clear from a letter which Johann wrote in late July 1857 to Carl Haslinger, his publisher in Vienna, that the new polka had been prepared well in advance of the wedding (the fair copy of the full orchestral score made for the publisher's engraver is dated 9 August) and was enjoying success even before the royal couple's official engagement on 16August 1857. Sometime after performing the Caecilien-Polka in Pavlovsk, Johann despatched the work to the Austrian capital where his brother Josef conducted its Viennese première, together with that of Johann's waltz Telegraphische Depeschen (op. 195, Volume 28), at his own benefit concert in the Volksgartenon Sunday 18 October 1857. The Wiener Allgemeine Theaterzeitung (16.10.1857) remarked that both works have caused a sensation in St. Petersburg and are truly genial Viennese sounds full of verve and melody. Since tradition demanded that the German Princess Caecilie adopt a Russian name - Olga Feodorovna - before her marriage, so Johann's Caecilien-Polka also underwent a change of identity. On 8 December 1857 Carl Haslinger announced the publication of Strauss's Olga-Polka, on the title page of which is the inscription: Dedicated to her Imperial Highness Grand Duchess Olga, née Princess of Baden. It was under this title, too, that Johann himself first conducted the work in Vienna at a concert in the Volksgarten on 1 November 1857, shortly after his return from Russia. Reporting on this event, the Wiener Allgemeine Theaterzeitung (3.11.1857) observed: The 'Olga-Polka' is a most delightful, fragrant musical bouquet, full of fine, gracious rhythms. The American Seasons (violin solo part – violin and string orchestra) MO148BViolin Solo Part (score and parts available)Music by Mark O’Connor30 pages - 38:00 minutes in length The American Seasons(Seasons Of An American Life)The American Seasons (Seasons Of An American Life) is a concerto for Violin And Chamber Orchestra. Composed in 1999, the music celebrates the various stages of an American life at the waking of the 21st century. Constructed in four movements and representing four stages of life, birth, adolescence, maturity and old age, the music also pays homage to Shakespeare's Seasons Of Man His acts being seven ages, incorporated throughout the work.Spring introduces the ideas of birth and infancy. After the principal theme has been stated, there is a violin cadenza encountering all twelve major keys and a 13/8 time signature representing the ancient golden ratio. These elements recall birth with all the possibilities a new life offers. Ending the movement, the principal theme is repeated with more complexity... as if posing life's questions.Summer represents the excitement and bravado of youthful adolescence and young adulthood. For the style of this movement I use a happy-go-lucky Blues voice which melds into Swing. I identify swing rhythm in all of 20th century American music culture as a common thread that runs through Ragtime through Rock and Roll on to Rap. Swing means testing the waters and pushing the envelope for lovers and soldiers.Fall is the slow movement symbolizing the wisdom of maturity. It is a peaceful theme with nostalgic strokes. It is a time for sincere reflection and enjoying ones accomplishments in life.Winter embodies the complexities and knowledge of an older person and that of a dying person. The movement begins with the principal them from Spring, but with a dissonance that emanates from a lifetime full of emotions and responsibilities. In the middle of the movement is a transition to an old world. I use my personal ancestry from Ireland as a foundation from which to rediscover one's lineage and explore the meaning and value of a cultural legacy. The exploration evolves into a four- and five-part fugue with a reel, jig, air, countered bass and the motif from the principal theme. All these elements, dances and melodies appear simultaneously and converge to form a unique insight to life's consequences from a historical perspective. Following the fugue, the principal theme finds its way back in. It sounds much as it did at birth. In the end, the solo violin cadenza carries the last earthly breaths before the violin and orchestra once again join in harmony to focus on a new life being transformed somewhere else. Life's four seasons in perpetuity.
