Napoli Suite for piano was written in 1922-25. The aesthetic attribute most praised by the French is that utterly indefinable quality known as â??charmâ??. Among its leading proponents among 20th-century composers is Francis Poulenc, whose picture-postcard piano suite Napoli whimsically evokes the seaside pleasures, the serene beauty and urban bustle of Italian life as seen through the lens of an urbane French tourist in Naples. All of the above-mentioned colorful virtues of this music moved me to orchestrate this suite for a symphony orchestra, combining it with chamber and solo episodes, where, along with a full symphony orchestra, complete freedom is given to the soloists of the orchestra and its groups. For example, the 1st part â?? Barcarolle - starts with Violin, Flute, Oboe, and Clarinet solo. The 2 part - Nocturne - is almost chamber ensemble consisting of Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Harp, Tambourine, Cello and D. Bass. The Tutti orchestra wedges in contrast only in in the last 6 bars. The 3rd part - Caprice Italien â?? string septet is soloing in 2 episodes without a conductor amidst powerful and colorful full orchestra sound. I hope to arouse interest of conductors and soloists of the orchestra to perform this brilliant music.

The sound qualities of the air itself and the reverberation of the room. The spectator suddenly discovers that the piece of music is composed of the sounds that surround him and of which he is not usually aware, including his own breathing, the beating of his heart or even the plaintive sound of his own shoes. In society, noise, as in this case, sound in music is present in our daily lives, forgetting to appreciate and the importance of silence. Silence does not have to give a feeling of fear. Appreciate silence, giving it that perception of inner peace and balance, equally linked to perseverance, that perseverance that occurs with music, with its constancy and persistence making it flow. Thus, just as each musical figure has its corresponding silence representing its same value and duration. Published by William Pagan-Perez (A0.1119832). We Want To Play A Plena! It is a single-movement piece for the Symphony Youth Orchestra by Composer William Pagán-Pérez. The piece is in the key of D Major. Composer Pagán-Pérez followed some teachings organized in Volume I of the Suzuki Methods to compose the piece for the string sections and a 2 or 2.5 grade level for the wind and brass instruments. The key of D Major can be a challenge for the winds and brass (especially for clarinets and trumpets in Bb), but music teachers, conductors, and students will manage the challenges by practicing scales and arpeggios. The Plena is a music genre or a rhythm from the south of Puerto Rico (a territory of the United State in the Caribbean). Percussion students can learn the basic patterns by reading the music notation or by ear (it is very repetitive). Composer Pagán-Pérez used the Plena variation by percussionist Tony Sánchez, Sr. Instrumentation: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet in Bb, Bassoon, Horn in F, Trumpet in Bb 1, Trumpet in Bb 2, Trombone, Tuba, Cowbell (Small), Maracas, Conga Drums, Tenor Drums or Toms, Percussion (Bass Drum, Sus. The composition is dedicated to the memory of my aunt LIÃ?NARD, in memory of Nazelles. My orchestral transcription of this piece is for a full orchestra. In such a new quality, this music can live well on the symphonic stage, adorning many programs with its originality. But first of all, I would like to draw the attention of the choreographers to this basically danceable, diverse and brightly characteristic music. I can say with great confidence that this work can become a ballet performance.

It is surrounded by Lake Superior on the west, north and east sides. From the late 1800's through the early 1960's copper was mined there. There are still remnants of multiple mines and hoists scattered about the hilly country side. This area can get around 180 of snow each year and winters can be long yet beautiful. There are waterfalls scattered in the hilly country side that are quite beautiful in the spring and summer.I attended Michigan Technological University from 2002-2006 which is located in Houghton, Michigan. Houghton is called the Gateway to the Keweenaw. I composed this piece to paint a picture of the Keweenaw with its waterfalls, hilly country, the sun rising and setting over Lake Superior, and the winter splendor. Because many people on the Keweenaw Peninsula are of Finnish descent, I incorporated the Finnish National Anthem into the melodic material.

The movement ends, agitatedly, in a quasi-scherzo fashion, scurrying from the lower depths of the orchestra to a heavenly cadence in C major. The second movement is a dance for the Prince and Lilith. [In talmudic lore, Lilith was regarded as a devilish being, and as Adam's first wife.] Each segment of this movement begins at first cautiously, and then very quickly reaches an ecstatic outburst of shouts and exclamations. A middle trio section offers a contrast of lyric introspection and contemplation. The third and last movement is rather sad and melancholy. Ironically, it is again in C major. The solo flute coupled with two bassoons is the main feature, with a Gil Evans-like wind choir floating in and out ... I musically convey what I imagined it would have been like to make this long journey like the Three Wise Kings and others did to follow the Star of Bethlehem to see the Blessed Child that prophets had foretold. As each person begins the journey, you will hear the distinctly grave motif indicative of the quest that was before them. The brass gloriously herald one's approach to the Holy Nativity coupled with the commencement of the Silent Night, Holy Night carol theme upon one's arrival. The music Silent Night, Holy Night was originally composed in 1818 by Franz X. Gruber. The original lyrics were were written in German by James Mohr also in 1818. This Christmas Classic was translated to English in 1859 by John Young. I wrote this arrangement yesterday as an intermediate level piano solo.This is a re-imagined version of Franz Gruber's Christmas Carol classic Silent Night, Holy Night. Section A begins with a poignant introduction in C Minor, then modulates to C Major for the main Silent Night, Holy Night Christmas Carol theme in Section B. Section C returns to a new version of its introductory C Minor motif. The song segues back to its Silent Night, Holy Night theme, but modulating to D Major for its closing.F. The piece was premiered in Winter of 2020 and was selected as a finalist in the 2021 National Young Composers Challenge. The composition was largely inspired by film music. In a film score, there is often a piece called Main Titles that plays during the opening scenes of the film. Typically, this piece encaptures all the major musical motifs present in the score of the movie. As the name suggests, Main Titles of America portrays the major themes of America in musical form. The three themes the piece highlights are opportunity, freedom, and love.The main musical motif appears early in the piece and is supported with eight notes and triplets from the harp and violas. The overall feel is adventurous and hopeful with energy building. The main motif is prominent throughout the piece, and almost every instrument plays the motif at some point. Each instrument represents a unique person who has the opportunity to flourish in America. The second motif represents freedom, and it is primarily played by the woodwinds. In particular, the flutes with their light, feathery sound help to express this idea. This motif is more playful and adds a touch of cheerfulness and lightness to the piece. It reflects the happiness of being free. The main motif and the second motif are intertwined just like opportunity and freedom. The third motif represents love and is prominent in the second half of the piece. The same eighth notes and triplets provide seamless energy and flow. While still maintaining a dream-like feel, this motif is meant to sound more grandiose and emotional. The sweeping themes and romantic harmonies are intended to portray the feeling of an ideal relationship. The piece ends with a triumphant brass chorale (the same motif from the beginning) followed by a tutti chord. It’s the musical representation of look how far we’ve come! The piece highlights the infamous American Dream - that anyone in America has the opportunity to pursue their dreams, find love, and create their own destiny.
