This arrangement is for Late Intermediate Level Piano/Keyboard Duet. The written range is kept mostly within the staff and the appropriate performance range of pitches on the keyboard is achieved by octave displacement, i.e. the Primo part is performed an octave higher than written and the Secondo an octave lower. As the performance range extends beyond that of a 61-note keyboard, an acoustic piano or 88-note keyboard is required if both players are to perform on the same instrument. Another performance option is to use two 61-note keyboards and use the transpose function to displace the parts by an octave (up for Primo, down for Secondo). This piece represents the possum creeping about at night time looking for food. It is inspired by an experience I had with a baby possum one night, when I woke up to the strings on my grand piano being played. The young possum had come down my chimney and was looking for an escape from the rain. It was also fairly unhappy with being placed outside again.

It includes a newly composed theme by the arranger in place of the song's original introduction. This new material is in a dark, minor key to musically portray the storm clouds as they gather across the sea. The God Bless America theme follows with a much calmer, lighter character, but the dark theme returns and intensifies. A second appearance of God Bless America comes in a four-part, hymn-like setting, and then is followed by a final statement of God Bless America, this time in a heightened, excited drive toward the end. The difficulty level is moderately advanced, and is best suited for a solid, well-trained pair of pianists. The score includes both parts together in a traditional orchestral-score format, and then each part included separately. The separated parts are designed so that they can be used at separate pianos, or or so that they can be placed in the same score holder in a typical piano-duet secondo/primo format.

Unlike the narratives concerning the death of Hercules, and his transformation into a god, and the dispute between Ajax and Ulysses over the weapons of Achilles, the story of Jason's capture of the Golden Fleece provided Dittersdorf with few opportunities for genuine pictorial writing. His explanation for the piano second theme in the first movement seems a little glib – it is, after all, a favourite device of his in non-programmatic works as well but Medea's beautiful soliloquy in the second movement, assigned here to the primo part and in all probability to a wind solo in the original, is as effective as anything in the extant orchestral scores of the Ovid symphonies. His choice of a Ciaconna for the Finale is not only highly appropriate given the heroic theme of the work, but also neatly solves the problem of how to end the symphony unconventionally in the absence of a transformation scene of the kind found in the other symphonies. Yet again, one marvels at Dittersdorf 's powerful creative imagination. The parts are marked carefully although Dittersdorf is not over-detailed in his instructions to the performers. The occasional copying errors provide insufficient evidence to determine whether the parts were copied from a piano score or prepared directly from the composer's full orchestral score. Little editorial work has been necessary to prepare this edition. The style and notation of articulation and dynamic markings have been standardised throughout and, where missing from the source, markings have been reconstructed from parallel passages. These are indicated by the use of dotted slurs or brackets where appropriate. Like most eighteenth-century sources, the manuscript is at times inconsistent in its notation of appoggiature ; these too have been standardised to minimise confusion. Obvious wrong notes have been corrected without comment; editorial emendations with no authority from the source are placed within brackets. Allan Badley.

This piece demonstrates the effect of purposely placed rests: listen for the frog to jump, pause, then jump again. This is my arrangement of Mozart's Sonata for 2 Pianos in D, K. 448, complete 3 movements, for 1 piano, 4 hands. Since it isn't so easy finding a hall or any place where there are 2 pianos laying around I decided to make my own arrangement of this marvelous composition for 1 piano, four hands. I tried to be faithful to the original music as much as possible. Each of the movements are also available separately as well. Enjoy.
