This bundle of brass ensemble music represents a huge saving on the prices of the individual arrangements, and comprises 5 popular pieces which are ideal for concert purposes. From the quiet, emotional 'Londonderry Air', which has been arranged as per the version featured in the 'Brassed Off' film, to the huge 'Sinfonietta' by Janáand#269;ek, there is a whole range of music here. Much of it is aimed at advanced players as the level of challenge is high, but they all work incredibly well once rehearsed properly. Starring Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Bill Paxton, Gary Sinise and Ed Harris, the 1995 American film Apollo 13 tells the story of the aborted 1970 Apollo 13 lunar mission that turned into a struggle to get the three astronauts aboard home safely. The screenplay was adapted from the book Lost Moon: The Perilous Voyage of Apollo 13 by astronauts Jim Lovell and Jeffrey Kluger. It was nominated for nine Academy Awards (winning for Best Film Editing and Best Sound).
The iconic and moving score to Apollo 13 was composed and conducted by James Horner. It was nominated for an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Score.

La Rejouissance (from Heroic Music) - Georg Philipp Telemann - Brass Choir - Intermediate - Digital Download.Heroic Music (or Heldenmusik) is a suite of twelve short marches and processionals, written by Georg Philipp Telemann in 1728 and is associated with various attributes of Heroism such as Dignity, Bravery and Alertness. All twelve movements have now been transcribed and arranged by Regis Booksgar to be played by Trumpet Quintets or Brass Quinets. Some of them have also been arranged for Sextets, Septets, Octets, Nonets and Brass Choirs. Some also include a Timpani. They can be purchased individually, or, if you prefer, as a complete set of all twelve at a huge saving.Any of these selections would be a wonderful addition to any music library. They are perfectly suited to recitals and public peformances, can stand alone as short interludes and are generally well received by audiences. They are suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing these arrangements. These selections are some of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. In the past, these compositions have often been performed by a soloist playing on a Piccolo Trumpet, but these new arrangements are Bb Trumpet friendly as one player stated after playing through them, making them much easier for most high school students.This selection, La Rejouissance (from Heroic Music), is arranged for a Brass Choir, with parts for 3 Bb Trumpets, 1 French Horn, 1 Trombone, 1 Euphonium and 1 Tuba, and is associated with the heroic quality of Joy. There is also a version which includes a Timpani, if you would prefer. The parts may be doubled as needed. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (15 pages).Many of these selections are readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. The polyphony becomes more complex and more tonal and the interdependence of the parts more striking. He is experimenting with more dissonance but also moves towards more tonal writing. Some of these songs can be written by incorporating the accompaniment into the parts for those instruments which are resting, some will require more than a quintet. Certainly as we get into the next three books, reduction to a quintet will become increasingly more difficult, if not impossible. The twelfth madrigal, Che dar più vi poss'io, is a song about a young man offering his companion his heart (with the implication of other bodily parts) as an expression of love (lust).

Cruel Amarillis is the translation of the first line and the fp in each part's entry emphasises that cruelty, along with the increased use of dissonance.

The penultimate song, again presents difficulties in arranging for quintet, however the sixth voice mostly alternates with the others and so with a bit of jusicious adaptation, a six-voice song becomes a quintet.
