My setting of the hymn tune Diademata ('Crown Him with Many Crowns') consists of three treatments of the tune. The first begins with a brief introduction, followed by the tune (played on a trumpet-en-chamade stop), contrasted with a rhythmically active accompaniment. After a brief modulatory interlude, the second treatment offers a stately 4-voice harmonization for manuals alone. Another brief interlude then modulates back to the original tonic. The final treatment in 12/8 meter presents the tune in long, ponderous notes in the pedal, while a 2-voice accompaniment in the hands provides a sprightly stream of eighth-notes that serve as a counterweight. I have provided a full-length recording to aid the prospective buyer in the decision-making process. I encourage you to search the Sheet Music Plus or the Sheet Music Direct website for other hymn arrangements of mine, some for organ and others for piano.

With his organ symphonies, the composer Enjott Schneider (born 1950) from Munich has been a profound sensation in recent years and seen world premieres at major European organ events. The Organ Symphony No. 6 'Te Deum' (premiered at Bruckner's St. Florian above Bruckner's tomb in 2008 and recorded there on CD) adopts the five-part structure and several motifs from Bruckner's 'Te Deum', thus becoming a forceful compact work pervaded by the Gotteslob. 1: 'Te Deum' is based on Bruckner's original figuration of fifths and eighths which is connected with the Latin Te Deum; 2: 'Te Ergo' is a 'preghiera' with pleading and praying gestures; 3: 'Aeterna fac' is an extremely virtuoso perpetuum mobile; 4: 'Salvum Fac' a basso ostinato and finally 5: 'In te, Domine speravi' a toccata which, after taking many detours, inevitably leads to the C major.

Published by John Burkett (A0.1427990). This Prelude on the Christmas carol tune Christmas Song (There's a Song in the Air) is the first of two settings I have created based on this tune. This setting requires only a two-manual organ and is of moderate difficulty. Structurally, the piece begins with an introduction that makes use of the dotted eighth/sixteenth rhythm that pervades the tune itself. A fresh harmonization of the first two phrases of the tune follows. They are succeeded in turn by an interlude similar to the introduction. A harmonization of the third and fourth phrases of the tune is then presented. A shorter interlude leads to a varied restatement of the last phrase, itself followed by a brief postlude, again employing the aforementioned dotted rhythm. I have provided a full-length recording to aid the prospective buyer in the decision-making process. Published by John Burkett (A0.1428009). This Prelude on the Christmas carol tune Christmas Song (There's a Song in the Air) is the second of two settings I have created based on this tune. This setting, like the first, requires only a two-manual organ, but it is a bit harder to play than the first setting. It is a trio in which the right hand plays an eighth-note accompaniment continuously from beginning to end. Phrases of the tune, played by the left hand, are stated in pairs separated by interludes, first in G major and then again in E-flat major. The pedal part provides a slow moving bass line to complete the harmony. I have provided a full-length recording to aid the prospective buyer in the decision-making process. My Variations on the hymn tune St. Elizabeth (Fairest Lord Jesus) present the tune with an original harmonization followed by four variations. The first two settings (Theme and Variation I) give out the tune in unaltered form, undergirded by two different harmonizations. Variation II is a duo cast in baroque style with an ornamented melody accompanied by a rhythmically repetitive pattern in the manual bass. In Variation III, a continuously moving accompaniment played by the feet and the left hand provides a backdrop to another ornamented version of the hymn tune, again in a somewhat baroque style. The final variation is more challenging to play. After a brief introduction, the tune appears in the soprano voice, harmonically supported by the alto and pedal bass, while the left hand provides a continuous stream of eighth-note triplets. After a couple of modulations, the final section (marked grandioso) presents the tune with a 4-voice harmonization punctuated at the end of each phrase by a trumpet-like rhythmic pattern played on a state trumpet stop. I have provided a full-length recording to aid the prospective buyer in the decision-making process. I encourage you to search the Sheet Music Plus or the Sheet Music Direct website for other hymn arrangements of mine, some for organ and others for piano.
