Instrumental Solo,Pipe Organ - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1251258 By Audra Telksnytė. By Juozas Naujalis. Arranged by Balys Vaitkus. Classical,Religious,Romantic Period. Individual part. 2 pages. Nacionaline vargonininku asociacija #845535. Published by Nacionaline vargonininku asociacija (A0.1251258). 14 Preludes, Op. 20. Fourteen pieces for organ, dedicated to a “beloved friend, Fr. Teodoras Brazys,†presents the largest collection of works for this instrument in Naujalis’ oeuvre. Like Naujalis, Brazys was the graduate of the Church Music School in Regensburg. These fourteen preludes for organ appear to be written in expression of deep affinity and gratitude to a like-minded friend who shared similar values. Some of Naujalis’ organ preludes have been included in music collections abroad – by Mieczysław Surzyński in Warsaw and Joseph Joubert in Paris. Juozas Naujalis (1869–1934) – Lithuanian composer and organist. In 1892, he was appointed organist and choir leader at the Kaunas Cathedral, a position he held until his death. Naujalis became actively involved in organizing local musical societies and institutions. As an outcome of his groundbreaking work, a number of important private entities, such as the first boys’ choir in Lithuania based at the Archcathedral Basilica in Kaunas, courses and the school for organists (1911), the first legal Lithuanian bookshop and music publishing house in Kaunas (1905–1912), the first music magazine Vargonininkas (The Organist) and calendars for organists published in Lithuanian (1909–1910), and the music school in Kaunas (1919), have been launched. In 1908, he founded the Children Society and St. Gregory Society for Organists, which was later reorganised into St. Cecilia Society for church musicians (1924). Naujalis was also the first Lithuanian composer to achieve recognition abroad. His church music was published in Regensburg, Warsaw, St. Petersburg, Leipzig and Paris. In recognition of his merits in the field of church music he was made Commander of the Order of the Crown of Italy in Rome, in 1929.A total of 29 organ pieces by Naujalis were recorded at the Archcathedral Basilica in Kaunas in 2019.

Organ - Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by Gustav Holst (1874-1934). Arranged by Paul Broadhurst. 20th Century, Modern, Repertoire, Funeral, Recital. 3 pages. Published by Molto rubato
This is an outstandingly atmospheric piece of music, the final part of Holst's choral work 'Ode to Death'. Holst composed this work in response to the First World War. He dedicated it to his musical friend Cecil Coles and "the others" who were killed in that war. The breath-takingly beautiful tune is supported by other-worldly harmonies and an unusual 7/4 rhythm to create music of immense presence. It works really beautifully on the organ: a wonderful piece for recitals, meditative services, remembrance or to play on your own for the sheer reward offered by this exceptional music. Also a great piece for demonstrating different solos and effects of the organ, including a great outlet for the Vox Humana, solo Flute and quiet Strings. Even bells, if you're lucky enough to have a set on your instrument!

Instrumental Solo,Organ - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1162902 Composed by Joey Tempest. Arranged by Paul Broadhurst. 20th Century,Contemporary,Pop,Rock,Wedding. Individual part. 6 pages. Molto rubato #763254. Published by Molto rubato (A0.1162902). This striking arrangement is a hugely rewarding piece to play on a large organ with a big Tuba or other solo reed! This is truly epic music which can be lifted to a whole extra dimension in a large cathedral or concert hall. The arrangement is both engaging and playable - even the central toccata section sits nicely under the fingers of the average player. The concept behind this particular arrangement is a rocket being charged for lift-off and then finally breaking free of the lauchpad and heading skywards. So the piece eventually ends in a striking succession of exuberant, gravity-defeating chords. A hugely uplifting piece to play as a concert opener or closer, or even as a striking final voluntary after a service to supercharge your emerging congregation!

Organ - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.915098 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Paul Broadhurst. Baroque,Concert,Contemporary,Easter,Instructional. Score. 3 pages. Molto rubato #6188059. Published by Molto rubato (A0.915098). This arrangement allows the performer to provide a very effective, emotionally charged rendering of this really beautiful music which has had a well-deserved renaissance following its use in the 2017 film 'Call Me By Your Name'. The romantic treatment is in the tradition of Virgil Fox's famous version of Bach's Come, Sweet Death (BWV 478). The simpler Adagissimo makes fewer technical demands on the player but a sensitive performance will be similarly engaging for an audience. Detailed editorial markings make this a great piece for students to learn how to use nuance to great musical effect - the notes are simple to play in themselves but careful, musical phrasing makes all the difference in performance, including for the concluding Pedal solo. It's a good recital piece for demonstrating different facets of a medium/large instrument but its simplicity also make it a very useful piece for playing on even the smallest organ. The highly engaging, mournful tone makes it a useful addition to Holy Week repertoire or for funerals.

ISBN 9780787753054.Expressions of praise can range from a quiet utterance of awe to an assertive declaration of grandeur and majesty, which Ashdown captures in this delightful collection. These dynamic organ settings are based on hymns associated with texts of praise to God and take full advantage of the organ's broad dynamic range and impressive array of tonal colors--the perfect instrument to give divine acclamation. Seven of the works are intended as celebratory postludes, with two quieter pieces for prelude or offertory use.

Organ - advanced to difficult - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q6218 Composed by Jean Guillou. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Op. 20. Duration 36 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q6218. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q6218). This is the name given to the ancient tales and legends of Scandinavia, mostly drawn up in Iceland. The term itself is of Germanic origin, form the verb 'sagen' which means to say, to recount. The title also has to do with what is said, what is recounted, in a musical epic of today. Three of these pieces, Sagas 2, 4 and 6, have the particularity of being improvisations. In Saga 1, the instrument seems to awaken out of a dream of which the two opposing elements gradually become ordered. Pedal staccati soon take control and come to predominate as they build up while, in a spirit of contradiction, various solo steps, Cornet, Cromore, unfold their melismas. The dream then reestablishes itself, this time for good. The second Saga is a sombre, frenetic dance based on groups of five semiquaves. It dies away, then, after a long silence, a note emerges, and this lone note, on three different solo stops, beaten, hunted by its two neighbouring notes in increasingly animated accents, anacruses and appoggiaturas, disappears, giving way to the sombre dance which then broadens out. It is interrupted all of a sudden by the irritated, exasperated, fuming tone of that harshness that overdoes itself and vanishes. The sombre dance appears one last time, letting itself go into paroxym. The third Saga unfolds as a very ancient chant, the memory of an Ossianic chant of the earliest times. The fourth Saga develops the lyricism of a tale to be told. But in midway comes a sort of destructive outburst of which the ever tighter links give way for a moment to pure narrativity, which, after a few upsets, ends the piece with the memory of great danger overcome by candour. The fifth Saga is a kind of quiet walk, interspersed with a few controversies, interceptions and demonstrations that are rather more lively. The sixth Saga develops a kind of theme in runs, whose constantly rhythmic rebounding might bring out the idea of apologetic or exalted acclamation.

Instrumental Solo,Pipe Organ - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1250967 By Indrė Gerikaitė. By Juozas Naujalis. Arranged by Balys Vaitkus. Classical,Religious,Romantic Period. Individual part. 2 pages. Nacionaline vargonininku asociacija #845258. Published by Nacionaline vargonininku asociacija (A0.1250967). Manuscript of Trio No. 5 has been stored in the archives of Lithuanian Theater, Music and Film Museum together with the unfinished Prelude No. 6. It seems, that these were some pages from a larger lost collection of pieces. The manuscript of Trio No. 5 was discovered in 2019 by Lithuanian organist Paulius Grigonis. At present this is its first known publication. The name Trio is slightly inaccurate for this piece, because its right hand has two voices almost throughout (33 bars out of 44 bars), which is led by the left hand and pedals. As given in the original source, the present publication maintains the free migration between the written out two-voice-texture and intervals written as one voice (bars 7, 8, 23).Juozas Naujalis (1869–1934) – Lithuanian composer and organist.
