Written in E, the work consist of two themes that have hymn-like and chorale qualities interspersed with lighthearted passages that depict the strength and weakness of human nature. The first theme resembles a melody of the ancient church; the melody has a mystical quality depicting God's majesty. The transition is light in content as it gives a listener a break from the serious mood of the first theme. The second theme is a chorale and is chordal in texture; it resembles a church hymn sung in many churches. Moreover, the second theme is written in B Flat Major, depicting one's praising God in spirit; the general mood is quiet. Following that section is the transition that gradually builds up excitement before the restatement of the first theme. The second theme is restated in E Major, but its longer note values are placed over the repeated bass and chordal patterns, a style that many composers use in their works, including Igor Stravinsky's L'Histoire Du Soldat. Once again, the lighthearted transitional passage recurs before the chimes start to strike four times. Following the chimes, the chorale is stated in E Major and begins quietly and builds up power as the work nears its ending; the chorale, unlike its first statement depicts the singing of praise with joy. This piece may be performed in concert halls and churches; it could give people fond memories of recitalists who enjoy bringing excitement to the public.

A turbulent organ work depicting a vision Judas Iscariot had after betraying Jesus Christ. According to the Gospel of Judas, the latter's vision was of the disciples stoning and persecuting him. This is apparent in the extended section of violence, with its darting harmonies and virtuoso writing. A long moment of calm leads to more turmoil and Judas' eventual hanging (suicide); the final descending pedal notes depict his fall against the noose. The opening scherzo-like passage signifies Judas' initial craftiness at betraying Jesus. This quickly leads to feelings of regret and then dread - portrayed in the darkening music. The first section is written in a North German toccata style where the opening measures are treated in a canonic manner and played in a series of thirds and sixths against the main theme stated in the pedal division; this compositional approach is somewhat reminiscent of the organ compositions of Dietrich Buxtehude (Prelude and Fugue in G Minor BUXWV 149). The second section is contrapuntal in nature and depicts a humorous moment; that moment may depict a comedy show or a circus event at a fair. Following that section is the recurrence of the main theme of the first movement. The fourth section is quiet in sound intensity and is the most chromatically oriented than other parts. Following that is a fugue, derived from the main theme of the first movement, and a transitional passage leading back to the recurring main theme. The work concludes triumphantly in the key of G Major. The Scherzo requires attention to articulation, phrasing and timing. This work is suitable for educational and recital uses: it introduces organ students to major works of Buxtehude and Johann S. Bach and many more composers; organists of various expertise may play the work to lighten up the audience's mood after listening to more difficult organ works. Four-part suite The Seasons for narrator and orchestra Lithuanian composer Kazys Daugėla created on the basis of K. Donelaitis poem The Seasons plots and the most famous artist Vytautas Kazimieras Jonynas (1907-1997) woodcut illustrations. These Donelaitis poem The Seasons illustrations have become classics of Lithuanian art. Composer created his paintings of the suite using native Lithuania Minor folk song melodies. Some of them are written almost 200 years ago. Most songs used are from Christian Bartsch prepared and published by Lithuanian folk songs Song of the votes. If you do not doubt that the song’s soul is in the melody, it should also be true, that the song is understood correctly only when we sing or listen to it – so believed Ch. Bartsch. He could not possibly foresee that the songs that sounded at his time will be wiped out in parallel with the East Prussian population. But after all, maybe he did predict? Therefore, he was rescuing them. The ancient epics and worldview associate The Seasons with cyclical idea of time, which is expressed by the view of The Sun’s path in the sky. The main hero of this musical work is The Sun and the diversity of nature, life and work associated with it. In the Eternal Circle we born, age, die - everything repeats, nothing new happens. In the second part of the The Cares of Winter, the Lithuanian traditional Advent song Sodai, sodai, leliumoj was used and developed.

Toccata on Hyfrydol was commissioned by the West Region of the American Guild of Organists for their 2019 Convention in Orange County, California, and premiered in recital by the composer as part of this convention on July 1, 2019 at Christ Cathedral Arboretum, Garden Grove, CA, USA. The piece consists of three sections which musically depict the iconic phrase wonder, love, and praise found at the end of the hymn text Love divine, all loves excelling by Charles Wesley which is often set to this tune. The beginning is filled with flurries of exciting figurations and pedal runs, followed by a soothing and contemplative middle section, which gradually builds to a rejoicing finale. Works perfectly as a postlude after congregational singing of this hymn tune. Also suitable as an organ recital piece. Duration approximately 6 minutes.

Over these chords, a melody gradually unfolds and is developed and decorated (also appearing in canon at one point in the pedals!). This musical material originates from the same composer's early original setting of the carol Away in a Manger (also available via Sheet Music Plus), which uses the aforementioned harmonies to depict the rocking motion of Christ's crib. Therefore, this organ work is a 'meditation' on this, almost in the manner of a chorale prelude. Prelude and Fugue on ’Dix’, the tune to which the Christmas carol ’As With Gladness Men of Old’ is sung, consists of a prelude in the style of a stately fanfare and march depicting the majesty of the kings as they make their way to Bethlehem and a fugue in which a variation of the first part of the hymn tune forms the subject which climaxes with a return of the fanfare of the prelude. Although the indicated registration is for three manuals, both movements can be played on two manuals. As the tune is occasionally sung to other hymns at various times of the year, this prelude and fugue is also suitable for other times of the year.

After the climactic part of the piece is stated, the sound intensity begins to decrease and concludes in a major key. The work is suitable for recital purposes, and may also be performed in church-related events, such as the Lenten and Good Friday services. Organ registrations and tempo indications are only suggestions.

The Finale from Sonata In C For Organ is suitable for recital use, and may be used for teaching students on techniques of incorporating thematic materials from other movements or other works to their compositions.This last movement opens with a slow and quiet registration, depicting an anticipation of some good event to come. One may associate this section (measure 1 to 51) with the expectation of Christ’s resurrection from the dead. The theme opens with a motivic variation of bugle theme that was stated in the first movement of the sonata. The exposition part of this work begins at measure 52, where the TRSCH motive repeats continuously in the pedal part against the main theme. Other thematic materials from previous movements occur in this movement. From measure 111 to 118, the first theme from the first movement appears against the main theme of this movement, and the former one is restated at bar 182 to 185. The second theme from the scherzo movement appears against the main theme of this movement at bar 120 to 123. The final section of the piece that commences from measure 195 to 211 contains the TRSCH motive, stated in the pedal part; the motive, originally written in quarter-note notation, is augmented rhythmically to whole note notation, giving one an impression of triumphant splendor. What brings the sonata to a triumphant close is that the TRSCH motive is stated three times, using the full organ registration. I hope that you enjoy this work.

The opening movement is composed in a sonata form and consists of three sections: exposition, development and recapitulation.The exposition begins with a stately introduction that consists of pointed rhythms. After the opening theme has been stated, there are two sections that employ canonic imitation of motives at measures 9 to 12 and 21 to 32. The closing theme depicts a bugle passage that is imitative in nature. The development section usually states thematic materials from the exposition section, but it is not always the case in some compositions. Take, for example, the middle section (measures 42 to 83) that contrasts the opening theme in its lyricism; its melody is written in the stepwise manner and is imitated in the pedal part. The recapitulation is a section where the restatement of the main theme and other sections, including the extended version of the bugle theme, recur after concluding the middle section of the sonata form. The piece ends triumphantly in a FFF passage.The work is educational in that it teaches students the sections that make up a sonata form. This piece is suitable for recital use.
