The music sheet has 213 pages and can be electronically converted to a soundtrack playing for about 21 minutes. Some songs (chapters) were composed of ancient Chinese poems by famous poets like Liu Bang, Bai Juyi, Tao Yuan-ming, Su Dong-po, et al. A video with the same title has been posted on YouTube.com, which contains more than 130 images of photos and a few short videos with the background melody of this song. Although most of the songs were published before as early as 2008 and later, the author re-composed carefully based on his memory with certain modifications and key signature changes to adjust an even playing of the song in one whole piece. The highlights of the stories' songs are as follows: The beginning part of the song is originally called the prelude of Tao Yuan-ming's The Eutopia of the Peach Land Spring; which is followed by the historical long poem of 616 Chinese characters called Pi Pa Xing by Bai Ji-yi around 1:30. Around 8:06 is a small bird feeding her young chicken and its tail-dancing matches with the melody of the song which was modified from Beijing Opera by the composer. Around 11:30 is the song called Wedding Waltz for Su Dong-po's poem Written on the West Wood Wall; around 13:40 is the Chi Le Song; around 14:00 to 15:00 is the song - Love Forever, which was jointly created with his son Raymond and his wife Catherine 25 years ago. The playing time at 15:30 is the song the author wrote for his poem called Life and Sea in 100 Chinese Characters; around 18:00 to 19:00 is King's Wedding by the author. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.1218192). Walking In Her Garden is an arrangement of the 1904 hit pop song by Carrie Jacobs-Bond. Â The text compares his lover to the beautiful flowers. Â Then she starts talking to the flowers, asking them about her lover. Â It concludes with the famous he loves me...he loves me not.... as she plucks the petals from the daisy. Â My arrangement adds quite a bit of drama to the piece. Â I have converted the main theme into an oom-pah-pah waltz and greatly increased the tempo to a brisk concert waltz for the first two verses. Â The B theme, where she talks to the flowers, resorts to a slower waltz ballad similar to the original. Â There is then a brief recapitulation of the oom-pah-pah theme building up to the suspenseful climax. Â I created a lento ending as the answers to her questions slowly unfold. Â This is a great concert piece full of passion and energy that can be dramatized. Â It is also perfect for any wedding today, whether vintage or modern.6 page score; Â 2:30 minutesI have published it in 3 different vocal ranges on this site: Â High - low D to high F#; Medium - low Bb to high D; Low - low G to high B. Published by Samuel Warren Hatch (A0.1025435). Piano Sonata No. 1 in E Major is the first series of concert piano works by S. Warren Hatch, written during his undergraduate study at Campbell University. Each movement is distinct, in that each of them is composed in a different form, utilizes different key changes and scales, and takes influence from a different period in classical music. While there is no theme that connects them to one another, they are all in the key of E Major and consist mostly of a waltz-like feeling. III. A Reflection of Passing depicts the shifting aspects about death as a person matures. It’s a piece that came from a time of great loss and much grieving. It begins with an innocent, hopeful understanding of death, followed by a major tone shift, where there is an odd utilization of the piano: the performer sings into the piano while holding down the sustain pedal, which vibrates certain overtones, producing what sounds like a distant choir. The piece closes with a triumphant, hopeful melody, borrowed from a song written by S. Warren Hatch when he was in high school.Composer Notes- Be sure to ensure that the stage hands lift the piano lid before the sonata’s start, as the strings will need to be exposed in order for you to sing into the piano’s body during A Reflection of Passing. For that section (page 22) you will need to face and sing directly into the strings while holding down the sustain pedal for the entire page. If you are playing with the sheet music (don’t worry, I’m not shaming you) simply slide the music holder in order to expose the part of the strings that are closest to you. For this sonata, I encourage you to find your own voice in these pieces. Your own interpretation should align with how you most relate to the message/story they’re telling. This could be using the una corda (leftmost) pedal during lighter sections to further differentiate them, or having a heavier rubato to strengthen the impact of certain phrases. As long as you bring these pieces to life, then it has my stamp of approval.

The song is set to a waltz, but the lyrics remind his [Hart's] listeners of the show's skeptical tone. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements, but because of its descending chromatic structure, we have at times deviated slightly from the chord root. It's not too hard and fun to play - we hope you like it!
