Hakim also manages to capture the textual content of the Latin verses from Psalm 81 by means of musical imagery with various madrigalisms, e.g. with extended melismatic melody lines and distinctive rhythms. This technically demanding sacred choral work was inspired by the Basque folk song Adieu fillette de Bayonne which the Lebanon-born composer already used in the first movement of his concerto for txistu (= Basque wooden flute) and orchestra.Naji Hakim's compositional oeuvre is deeply rooted in his personal faith. But I kept coming back to music: 'Music, gift of the highest God,' music with the power to 'untune the sky,' music that refreshes and gives us strength, 'affording solace to all.' The music begins mysteriously with the John Dryden text split among the voices and ending with Alleluias. A sort of scherzo section follows, concluding with a declamation, The dead shall live, the living die, and music shall untune the sky. Then follows the setting of the Latin text of the title. The music is challenging, the textures interesting and varied. Duration: 4:30.

Latin.Almost 40 compositions, half of which written for accompanied and unaccompanied choir, can currently be found in the catalogue of works by the young Polish composer Katarzyna Danel (born in 1992). After winning several national composition prizes, she was awarded the 1st prize of the 13th International Composition Competition 'Musica Sacra Nova' 2016 for Misericordias Domini for eight-part mixed a cappella choir. The complex sacred a cappella choral work is based on the eponymous Gregorian chorale (Psalm 89:2). This Latin choral piece is characterized by three main structures: by aleatoric sound clouds in major pentatonic scales which are emphasized by sustained organum-like notes from the Gregorian chorale melody, on the one hand, by Renaissance-style polyphony combined with modern harmony, on the other hand, and finally, by long static chords merging in space and harmony. A wonderfully mystical, spherical composition which, by means of ad libitum passages marked in the musical text, even gives the performer the opportunity to interpret the piece individually.

Latin.This Ave Maria is an arrangement made by Bertold Hummel in December 1997 of his motet Gegrüßet seist du, Maria [Hail Maria] (C 53714) which he had composed on 20 May 1993 with a dedication in memory of his deeply religioues sister Erika. This Latin version was dedicated to the Cathedral Music Master Siegfried Koesler in Berold Hummel also co-founded the Bruckner Festival in Würzburg together with Koesler and Erwin Horn, a specialist in the opening section of their sorks and Bertold Humme quotes Bruckner's final cadence on the name of Jesus prios to the Amen. The text of the so-called Angelic Salutaion is based on the Bible passages from the Gospel of St Luke (luke 1, 28b, 42) which was extended over the centuries with additions such as Jesus (14th century) and the Invocation to Mary. This text was included in the Breviary of Pope Pius V in 1568 which officially confirmed its status as a prayer.

It is the effective antiphony between female and male voices, four-part homophonic passages including four bars for two solo sopranos, rich dynamic nuances, staggered entries of the voices in imitation, and sound elements to be performed in an individual loop-like manner that make this sacred choral work special. For this work, the young composer was awarded the 3rd prize at the Composition Competition Musica Sacra.
