Strohm. This setting of the work is scored for a unique 10-part ensemble, comprised of a brass quintet (two Trumpets, Horn, Trombone and Tuba), and a saxophone quintet (Soprano, Alto 2 Tenors, Baritone with low A key). The antiphonal scoring with the two quintets makes the work ideal for skilled high school or college players looking for a showcase piece. The sound of the piece is tonal, ranging from quiet contemplation to thundering assertion. It opens with a chorale-like 3/2 that lasts about four minutes, moving into a powerful three-and-a-half minute incantation, then bursts into a two-and-a-half minute dance in 7/4. Trilogy is an exciting work for contest or concert, with a Medium to Medium-Advanced level of difficulty. Total performance time is around 10:00. Member, ASCAP.

The Liberty Bell for Saxophone Quartet (SATB or AATB)The Liberty Bell is ideal for any concert programmes that have an American, patriotic, or military focus. In the UK it will be a popular addition to Film & TV based programmes because of the march's use as the theme for Monty Python's Flying Circus.Sousa’s The Liberty Bell (March) for Military Band was published in 1893 and became an immediate hit. It was originally scored for: 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 4 horns, 2 trumpets, 3 trombones, tuba, timpani, cymbals, bass drum, snare drum, and strings. However, it is often performed today by a standard Military Band, consisting of woodwind, brass, and percussion sections. An abbreviated version of Liberty Bell was used as the theme tune for the British television comedy sketch show, Monty Python’s Flying Circus, which ran from 1969 to 1974.This arrangement for Sax Quartet consists of the whole March with its Trio section. The dynamic shaping is based on that used by The President’s Own Band, but these are mostly editorial so can be changed by the performers. The full length is 3 minutes 35 seconds, but there is an optional ending at 2 minutes 35 seconds.
