Armida al campo d'Egitto is an opera in three acts by Antonio Vivaldi to a libretto by Giovanni Palazzo. It was first performed during the Carnival season of 1718 at the Teatro San Moisè in Venice. Unlike the more than 50 operas based on the romance of Rinaldo and Armida, Vivaldi's version starts during previous events before the war against the Crusaders. Armida was revived for the Carnival season of 1738, with much of the music rewritten, and arias by Leonardo Leo added. Act II of the original version of the opera is now lost. The Level is Early Advance and the duration is approximately 4.13 minutes. It could be played in any type of recital/concert.

Bach's Partita No. 2 in C minor, BWV 826, is an essential work for several reasons: Significance in Bach's Oeuvre It is part of Bach's monumental collection of six partitas (suites) for the keyboard, considered among music history's most famous and challenging suites. The partitas were published as Bach's Opus 1 in 1731, showcasing the diversity of forms and ingenious counterpoint in his keyboard writing. Partita No. 2 was one of the earliest partitas to be published individually in 1727, highlighting its significance. Musical Characteristics It opens with a grand Sinfonia movement akin to a French overture, followed by an expressive Andante aria-like movement. The fugue movement has an intense subject spanning a minor 9th interval. It includes a double (ornamented variation) of the traditional Sarabande dance movement. L'arrangiamento per quartetto di sassofoni della trilogia Mozart-Da Ponte nasce con l'intento di celebrare la straordinaria collaborazione tra Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart e Lorenzo Da Ponte, reinterpretando alcune delle pagine più iconiche di Le Nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni e Così fan tutte per una formazione moderna e versatile. L'arrangiamento si apre con la Sinfonia de Le Nozze di Figaro, che funge da ouverture, introducendo l'atmosfera vivace e brillante che caratterizza l'intera trilogia. A seguire, ho selezionato le arie più celebri e rappresentative delle tre opere, creando una sorta di medley che permette di esplorare le diverse sfumature emotive e drammatiche dei personaggi. L'adattamento delle arie per quartetto di sassofoni ha richiesto una particolare attenzione alle dinamiche e all'equilibrio sonoro, garantendo che ogni strumento potesse esprimere al meglio le qualità vocali e orchestrali. Il contrasto timbrico tra i quattro sassofoni permette di ricreare l'ampia gamma espressiva dell'originale, rispettando le sfumature e le emozioni che caratterizzano ciascuna aria.Una delle principali sfide nell'arrangiamento è stata quella di mantenere la ricchezza e la complessità delle partiture originali di Mozart in una formazione ridotta. Mozart composed the Divertimento, K. 136, during down-time in Salzburg in the winter of 1772, following two extended periods in Italy. This Divertimento is in three movements, fast-slow-fast after the manner of the Italian sinfonia. The opening Allegro, in sonata form, centers around a delightful, charming theme that ends with an amusing little dynamic retreat. The Andante is typically warm and elegant, its two halves contrasted by a brief acceleration in the accompaniment's pulse. A spirited Presto finale brings the Divertimento, a fine example of Mozart's ambitious work in a genre traditionally designated as light music, to a close. This arrangement for sax quartet (Bb Soprano, Eb Alto, Bb Tenor, Eb Baritone) of the entire Divertimento is suitable for classroom, repertoire and recital.
