I have arranged the first six dances by Beethoven for wind quintet. I have used Beethoven’s natural horn parts as a guide for my horn part, so each dance has a horn part for a different natural horn. Arranged wind quintet Natural Horn in Bb ALTO Mozart wrote three early String Quartets in Salzburg in 1772 naming them Divertimenti. They are catalogued as K.136, K.137 and K.138. In form these Divertimenti are in three movements, which differs from his later divertimenti which have 4 or more movements. They are sometimes known as Salzburg Symphonies 1 to 3. K. 136, in D major, the best known of the three, opens with an Allegro, followed by an attractive G major slow movement and a rapid finale with the requisite touch of contrapuntal interest. K. 137, in B flat major, starts with an Andante, followed by two faster movements. The third of the set, K. 138, in F major, follows an opening tripartite Allegro with a C major Andante and a final Presto. This is no. 2 Arranged wind quintet. Edward Alexander MacDowell (December 18, 1860 – January 23, 1908) was an American composer and pianist of the late Romantic period. He was best known for his second piano concerto and his piano suites Woodland Sketches, Sea Pieces and New England Idylls. Woodland Sketches, Op. 51, is a suite of ten short piano pieces . It was written during an 1896 stay at MacDowell's summer retreat in Peterborough, New Hampshire, where each piece was inspired by a different aspect of the surrounding nature and landscapeThe suite's first piece, To a Wild Rose, is MacDowell's best known single work according to the musicologist H. Wiley Hitchcock,and it achieved what Bomberger described as phenomenal popularity. MacDowell believed the work's popularity arose because the publisher spread its score generously across two pages.The piece begins with a spare melody, based on a simple one from the Brotherton Indians.The melody is played in short fragments and accompanied by chords and pedal points. The climax consists of a repeated dominant ninth chord, which can also be heard as a version of the Tristan chord. The piece concludes with a Scotch snap rhythm. Crawford opined that the piece's harmony saves it from blandness.Arranged for wind quintet…It could have been written for wind quintet!Other pieces are available.
