Bach's classic Bourrée in E minor arranged for guitar in a jazz-swing-blues style, with walking bass lines on guitar, melody figures swung, and harmonic passages adapted towards a cool jazz and bluey idiom. It's actually a bit more difficult than the original--because the swung melody and bass lines are syncopated rather than matched... but it is very cool and fun to play, and a great showpiece for an intermediate level guitarist! Brad studied from and was mentored by jazz guitar giant Joe Pass, and took a master class from Andrés Segovia, so this arrangement bridges both musical worlds--jazz and classical--that he came up in.ABOUT: Brad Powell (aka The Candlelight Guitarist) began guitar at age ten, inspired by The Beatles. Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 Prelude, arranged for solo classical guitar. This arrangement involved careful editing of essential elements of the Cello Suite Prelude (not the entire piece), tuning the guitar's 5th and 6th strings down a whole step, and adjusting harmonies of the Cello Suite to match Happy Birthday, still retaining Bach's compositional style.  It's an intermediate level classical fingerstyle, similar in difficulty to the Sor Etudes.
