Eric DeLamarter (February 18, 1880 – May 17, 1953) was an American composer and classical organist.DeLamarter was born in Lansing, Michigan on February 18, 1880, the child of Dr. Louis and Mary B. DeLamarter. He attended public schools in Kalamazoo, then Albion College. He was a music critic for the Chicago Tribune in 1909, 1910, 1915, and 1916.He served as assistant conductor of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra from 1918 to 1933 and from 1933 to 1936 he served as their associate conductor. He was also an uncredited orchestra conductor in the 1946 film Humoresque.Among his pupils was Leon Stein.Eric DeLamarter was a composer, church organist, and music and drama critic of The Inter Ocean. He was also a close friend and adviser to Leo Sowerby as well as a champion of Sowerby's music. DeLamarter aided Sowerby in his becoming an accomplished organist. In 1915 he was organist at the Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago, IL. The following year he commissioned and gave the premiere performance of Sowerby's Comes Autumn Time.He died in Orlando, Florida on May 17, 1953.The Lila Acheson Wallace Library of The Juilliard School has several of his holographs as well as printed items. The University of Michigan Library holds the holograph of his organ concerto and a number of printed items.

'Adoration', originally composed for organ is truly one of the most beautiful slow pieces. Florence B. Price (1887-1953) was the first major black female composer in music history. Her first symphony was premiered by the chicago symphony orchestra in 1933. 'Adoration' fits perfectly in church settings, it's sentimental melodies work for funerals as well as for weddings. It also gets performed in concert setting regularily. Felix Linsmeier arranged this piece for several different ensembles, this particular version was performed by major orchestras such as National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, Charlotte Symphony, Richmond Symphony or the Grand Rapids Symphony.

Chaconne is the final movement of Partita No. 2 in D minor, BWV 1004, for solo violin. While many agree that Chaconne is a masterpiece for violin, it can certainly be argued that it is also among the greatest pieces of music ever written. Since Bach's time, several transcriptions of the piece have been made for other instruments, including inspired versions by Ferruccio Busoni (piano) and William Thomas Best (organ). This new arrangement, for brass quintet and organ, draws inspiration from both the Busoni and Best transcriptions. This demanding arrangement showcases the full color and dynamic range of the organ and each brass instrument, from delicate solo passages to heart-pounding power as brass and organ join forces.   Perfect for any recital, concert or pops program. He composed and compiled a number of works, and was well known locally as he walked around with a canvas bag full of handbooks for sale. His works include: Light and Life Songs, with William Olmstead & William Kirkpatrick. Satin Doll is a jazz standard written by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn with lyrics by Johnny Mercer. Written in 1953, the song has been recorded by many artists, incluing Ella Fitzgerald, 101 Strings, Dewey Redman, Chicago and Nancy Wilson. Johnny Mercer was often asked to write lyrics to already popular songs; the yrics to Satin Doll were written after the song was a hit in its instrumental version. This arrangement has been adapted from the jazz ensemble version by John Edmondson, retaining a short trumpet solo and incorporating the piano parts into the clarinets and vibraphone. Nessun dorma (None shall sleep) is an aria from the final act of Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot and is one of the best-known arias in all of opera. Although Nessun dorma has long been a staple of operatic recitals, Luciano Pavarotti popularized the piece well beyond the world of opera with his many recordings and live performances. Nessun dorma became his signature aria. Nessun dorma also appeared on the best selling classical album of all time, The Three Tenors in Concert. However, our favorite version will always be the soul-infused rendition by Aretha Franklin during the 1998 Grammy Awards, in which she sang in place of Luciano Pavarotti when he was unable to perform due to throat problems.
