Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1270160 By Arlo Guthrie. By Arlo Guthrie. Arranged by Craig Hanson. A Cappella,Comedy,Folk. Octavo. 6 pages. Edition Craig Hanson #862589. Published by Edition Craig Hanson (A0.1270160). For TTBB chorus a cappella and solo voice. As performed by Arlo Guthrie.Wanna hear something? You know that Indians never ate clams. They didn't have linguini! And so what happened was that clams was allowed to grow unmolested in the coastal waters of America for millions of years. And they got big, and I ain't talking about clams in general, I'm talking about each clam! Individually. I mean each one was a couple of million years old or older. So imagine they could have got bigger than this whole room. And when they get that big, God gives them little feet so that they could walk around easier. And when they get feet, they get dangerous. I'm talking about real dangerous. I ain't talking about sitting under the water waiting for you. I'm talking about coming after you.Imagine being on one of them boats coming over to discover America, like Columbus or something, standing there at night on watch, everyone else is either drunk or asleep. And you're watching for America and the boat's going up and down. And you don't like it anyhow but you gotta stand there and watch, for what? Only he knows, and he ain't watching. You hear the waves lapping against the side of the ship. The moon is going behind the clouds. You hear the pitter patter of little footprints on deck. ‘Is that you kids?’ It ain't! My god! It's this humongous, giant clam!Imagine those little feet coming on deck. A clam twice the size of the ship. Feet first. You're standing there shivering with fear, you grab one of these. This is a belaying pin. They used to have these stuck in the holes all around the ship… You probably didn't know what this is for; you probably had an idea, but you were wrong. They used to have these stuck in the holes all along the sides of the ship, everywhere. You wouldn't know what this is for unless you was that guy that night.I mean, you'd grab this out of the hole, run on over there, bam bam on them little feet! Back into the ocean would go a hurt, but not defeated, humongous, giant clam. Ready to strike again when opportunity was better. You know not even the coastal villages was safe from them big clams. You know them big clams had an inland range of about 15 miles. Think of that. I mean our early pioneers and the settlers built little houses all up and down the coast you know. A little inland and stuff like that and they didn't have houses like we got now, with bathrooms and stuff. They built little privies out back. And late at night, maybe a kid would have to go, and he'd go stomping out there in the moonlight. And all they'd hear for miles around...(loud clap/belch).... One less kid for America. One more smiling, smurking, humongous, giant clam.So Americans built forts. Them forts --you know—them pictures of them forts with the wooden points all around. You probably thought them points was for Indians but that's stupid! 'Cause Indians know about doors. But clams didn't. Even if a clam knew about a door, so what? A clam couldn't fit in a door. I mean, he'd come stomping up to a fort at night, put them feet on them points, jump back crying, tears coming out of them everywhere. But Americans couldn't live in forts forever. You couldn't just build one big fort around America. How would you go to the beach? So what they did was they formed groups of people. I mean they had groups of people all up and down the coast form these little alliances. Like up North it was call the Clamshell Alliance. And farther down South it was called the Catfish Alliance. They had these Alliances all up and down the coast defending themselves against these threatening monsters. These humongous giant clams. Andt hey'd go out there, if there was maybe fifteen of them they'd be singing songs in fifteen part harmony. And when one part disappeared, that's how they knew where the clam would be.Which is why Americans only sing in four part harmony to this very day. That proved to be too dangerous. See, what they did was they'd be singing these songs called Clam Chanties, and they'd have these big spears called clampoons. And they'd be walking up and down the beach and the method they eventually devised where they'd have this guy, the most strongest heavy duty true blue American, courageous type dude they could find and they'd have him out there walking up and down the beach by himself with other chicken dudes hiding behind the sand dunes somewhere. He'd be singing the verses. They'd be singing the chorus, and clams would hear 'em. And clams hate music. So clams would come out of the water and they'd come after this one guy. And all you'd see pretty soon was flying all over the sand flying up and down the beach manmanclamclammanmanclam manclamclamman up and down the beach going this way and that way up the hills in the water out of the water behind the trees everywhere. Finally the man would jump over a big sand dune, roll over the side, the clam would come over the dune, fall in the hole and fourteen guys would come out there and stab the shit out of him with their clampoons. That's the way it was. That was one way to deal with them. The other way was to weld two clams together. [I don't believe it. I'm losing it. Hey. What can you do. Another night shot to hell.] Hey, this was serious back then. This was very serious. I mean these songs now are just piddly folk songs. But back then these songs were controversial. These was radical, almost revolutionary songs. Because times was different and clams was a threat to America. That's right. So we want to sing this song tonight about the one last... You see what they did was there was one man, he was one of these men, his name will always be remembered, his name was Reuben Clamzo, and he was one of the last great clam men there ever was. He stuck the last clam stab. The last clampoon into the last clam that was ever seen on this continent. Knowing he would be out of work in an hour. He did it anyway so that you and me could go to the beach in relative safety. That's right. Made America safe for the likes of you and me. And so we sing this song in his memory. He went into whaling like most of them guys did and he got out of that, when he died. You know, clams was much more dangerous than whales. Clams can run in the water, on the water or on the ground, and they are so big sometimes that they can jump and they can spread their kinda shells and kinda almost fly like one of them flying squirrels. You could be standing there thinking that your perfectly safe and all of a sudden whop.... That's true... And so this is the song of this guy by the name of Reuben Clamzo and the song takes place right after he stabbed this clam and the clam was, going through this kinda death dance over on the side somewhere. The song starts there and he goes into whaling and takes you through the next...I sing the part of the guy on the beach by himself. I go like this: Poor old Reuben Clamzo and you go Clamzo Boys Clamzo. That's the part of the fourteen chicken dudes over on the other side. That's what they used to sing. They'd be calling these clams out of the water. Like taunting them making fun of them. Clams would get real mad and come out. Here we go. I want you to sing it in case you ever have an occasion to join such an alliance. You know some of these alliances are still around. Still defending America against things like them clams. If you ever wants to join one, now you have some historic background. So you know where these guys are coming from. It's not just some 60's movement or something, these things go back a long time.Notice the distinction you're going to have to make now between the first and easy Clamzo Boys Clamzo and the more complicated Clamzo Me Boys Clamzo. Stay serious! Folk songs are serious. That's what Pete Seeger told me. Arlo I only want to tell you one thing... Folk songs are serious. I said right. Let's do it in C for Clam...Iet's do it in B... For boy that's a big clam... Iet' s do it in G for Gee, I hope that big clam don't see me. Let's do it in F... For …he sees me. Let's do it back in A...for a clam is coming. Better get this song done quick. The Story of Reuben Clamzo and His Strange Daughter in the Key of A.

Then…Come to the fountain. (Chorus) The Fountain of Life that never runs dry, The source of all hope wipes all tears from the eye, God’s Living Water, always clean and pure, Will quench your thirst; His promise is sure. Without Living Water the soul shrivels and withers, Heed the Lord’s call: Come to Me, Hither. Without Living Water problems keep growing, So come to the artesian. It’s peace ever flowing. Around the Bend (for Cello & Piano)

Cello,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1280306 Composed by Brian Strohmetz. Chamber,Classical,Contemporary. Score and part. 46 pages. Brian Strohmetz #871769. Published by Brian Strohmetz (A0.1280306). Around the Bend is a journey of tranquility, adventure, and discovery down a section of the Monocacy Creek in Bethlehem, PA. The first section of the music that appears throughout the piece is a simple melody that is reminiscent of a simple art song. It represents the river flowing along peacefully on a beautiful day. Occasionally, we come across an area where the water hits a small obstacle that causes the water to change its path and speed. We hear this as violent 16th note interruptions in the music. The river then returns to its natural flow and pace. Further along we encounter a small waterfall area with rapids and obstacles. The music cascades and has a rhythmic drive representing the rapids and the swift moving waters. After we have traversed the rapids, we return to the calm waters of the river as it continuously flows peacefully. The next portion of our journey is inspired by a specific and unique section of the Monocacy, where we find the hidden ivy. Trees surround the creek. When looking into them, at a certain angle, you will find a tree covered in ivy hidden amongst the other trees. When we reach this point in our journey, the music starts off mysteriously as though looking through the trees. When we find the hidden ivy, we are greeted by a majestic melody that reflects this hidden beauty. The piano plays a rising arpeggio repeatedly, reflecting the ivy’s goal to grow higher and closer to the sky. Once we pass the ivy, we return to the peacefully flowing river. We approach a bend in the river that we cannot see beyond. There is a bit of trepidation, but as we start to go around the bend, everything ends peacefully, and we know everything will be fine. The river will keep moving and we will survive. For Cello & Piano.

Jazz ensemble - Digital Download SKU: IZ.JES171 Composed by Benjamin Van De Water. Score and Parts. 63 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #JES171. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.JES171). 9 x 12 in inches.Boppin' at the Laundromat, a piece for Jazz Ensemble featuring Oboe and Tuba soloists, is a programmatic story. The first idea to come to mind was the dissonant chord (m. 16, m. 24, m. 32, etc.) intended to emulate a dryer buzzer. From there, a story began to take shape. An attractive gentleman (tuba) approaches the counter at his local laundromat (m. 17), looking to have some of his clothes washed. Soon after, an attractive lady (oboe) approaches the counter along with the man (m. 23), and they notice each other. The mutual attraction is palpable, illustrated with arpeggios in triplets in the piano and vibes (m. 33). Their clothes washing questions are resolved, and they take their seats, nearby each other, of course. The small talk begins.Just then, some noisier patrons enter (brass), completing the laundering atmosphere. A high trumpet lick (m. 61) is the ever present obnoxious laughter that always seems to have an outburst at the most inopportune time. The following solo section (m. 66) is a lull in the superficial conversation of the lady and gentleman, where each is left to their own thoughts.Suddenly (m. 78), the conversation begins anew, with a more personal and profound interaction between them. All the while, the other launderers continue their carrying on. At measure 121, the man's dryer finishes, followed soon after by the woman's (m. 122), and the pair go their separate ways. Their story to be completed in the mind of the listener.

Edition based on Ms. D MÜu, ms. 775Score (20 pages) and Parts (friendly performance edition): Violino principale, Violin I, Violin II, Violin III, Viola, Violoncello and Harpsichord. The Violin Concerto in A major (TWV 51:A4), which has come to light only fairly recently, does not take as its musical model the song of the nightingale (as in ‘La Bizarre’ [TWV 55:G2]) or of the goldfinch (Vivaldi), but the croaking of the common frog, also called ‘Reling’ in certain regions of Germany, whence the concerto’s subtitle. Nothing better could be expected of a composer who found inspiration even in crows and in the out-of-tune playing of village musicians! Although this concerto, which the manuscript attributes to Telemann, bears traces of his personal style, other features, such as the exceptionally high solo part, leave room for doubt. At a structurally important point in the first movement the soloist produces no more than a succession of repeated notes, ‘a-a, a-a’, which infect the other parts as well. Of course, this is the vowel that the frog croaks, given a distinctive tone-colour by use of the open A string and stopped D string. But worse is to come. In the second ritornello the orchestral violins ‘forget’ the beginning of their theme, whilst the cello inappropriately pushes its way into the foreground. The setting of the second movement (Adagio), probably a moonlit stretch of shallow water, then audibly inspires a pair of courting frogs to make sweet music together. We are given the opportunity to rejoice in their croaking offspring in the concluding Menuet and its rapid Double. This movement entirely dispenses with concertante sounds of nature and thereby betrays its origins in the suite, where it always takes its accustomed place in Telemann’s music. If we knew that a satirist was at work in this ‘Relinge’ Concerto, someone who was deliberately exhibiting all these deviations from good taste, then we could infer with some certainty that the composer is indeed Telemann. Since his own concertos ‘smack of France’ (as he puts it in his autobiography of 1718), we may most likely credit him with permitting his not at all ‘sullen old heart’ a little joke at the expense of the relevant concertos of a certain Italian composer… – Peter Huth (trans. Charles Johnston)www.snakewoodeditions.com

Large Ensemble Bassoon,Cello,Clarinet,Flute,Low Voice,Medium Voice,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1023434 Composed by Theresa Koon. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 14 pages. Theresa Koon #5722325. Published by Theresa Koon (A0.1023434). I Come from Water is a chamber work for Mezzo-soprano, Baritone, Alto Flute, Clarinet, Bassoon, Violin, Cello and, briefly, Bass Drum. The piece was inspired by news that the US may be planning to perform missile tests in the Pacific Ocean in the vicinity of the Hawaiian island of Kauai. Scientific research is leading to speculation that these tests could be harmful to water creatures over a large area surrounding the testing sites. In particular, scientists are concerned that the tests may cause animals who orient themselves via sound waves, such as dolphins and whales, to become permanently deaf. The music is intended to evoke impressions of a life in water, beginning with non-verbal communication between fish in streams. Images, sensations and sounds of water are expressed throughout the piece as salmon make their way from streams to rivers to the ocean. Eventually, we hear a sense of quiet communion in the ocean, which is interrupted by three explosions. The water creatures respond with panic, followed by silence. The final measures are intended to express grieving.

These are the 4 hymns in the colorized movie Stars in My Crown.(1) Will There Be Any Stars in My Crown? - An old favorite simplified hymn arrangement on Late Elementary-Early Intermediate Level, in the Key of G, with lyrics and Guitar chords included. From the scriptures Daniel 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. 1 Peter 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? For ye are our glory and joy.(2) Shall We Gather At The River? - An old favorite hymn with simplified Early Intermediate Level Piano Accompaniment, Lyrics, and Guitar chords. Very special arrangement with duet notation using the Violin and Flute. From the scriptures Revelation 22: 1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.(3) Beulah Land - An old favorite hymn with simplified Late Elementary - Early Intermediate Level Piano Accompaniment, Lyrics, in the Key of G. From the scriptures Deuteronomy 8: 7 For the Lord thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills; 8 A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey; 9 A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass. 10 ¶ When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the Lord thy God for the good land which he hath given thee. Isaiah 33:17 Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.(4) Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing - An old favorite hymn in the Key of C, with simplified Early Intermediate Level Piano Accompaniment, Lyrics, and additional melody with the Bb Clarinet. From the scriptures 1 Corinthians 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.1 Samuel 7 :12 Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Eben-ezer, saying, Hitherto hath the Lord helped us.

Published by Nicole E Doran (A0.968672). The Steadfast Heart, a psalm cycle for advancing musicians is a pedagogical work of art and a journey of faith. It sets into sound the faith of a Messianic Jewish classical musician who wants to pass along all that she has learned of faith and music to her children and the next generation of God-fearing musicians.Mastering the keyboard step by step helps you understand the miracle of harmony. Melodies refresh the soul and many tones blending together show the wonder of unity in diversity; this is true of all music. However, meditating on the psalms as you play helps you understand the way Christ and all the faithful have looked to the Father in Heaven as their guide and protector as you delight in the musical sounds you can produce.Dr. Doran includes accessible verses from the NIV and some lines of the poetry that challenge modern ears and sensibilities. Sweet melodies, imitative counterpoint, modal and tonal harmonization and register shifts prove that an intermediate pianist can savor the artistry for the level they have achieved and still thirst for more musical and spiritual goodness to come just like David longed for the Lord’s presence and fullness. As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul longs after You, O God. The Water is Wide (SSA choir and piano)

Choral Choir (SSA) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1251832 Composed by Traditi…

Choral Choir (SSA) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1251832 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Celtic,Folk,Irish,Multicultural,Wedding,World. Octavo. 9 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #846048. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1251832). This lovely folksong is thought to have come from Scotland, though similar versions have been recorded in other parts of Britain. The song is also known as “O Waly, Waly†which means something like “woe is meâ€. For such an old song, it is not surprising that there are many variations of the lyrics. An early version of the modern lyrics was consolidated by the British folksong collector Cecil Sharp in 1906 using multiple older sources in southern England. There are many sets of lyrics with different story-lines. This was because performers would often create new lyrics for the song. This melody has attracted a family of lyrics many of which bear little relationship to each other. The words used in this choral arrangement reflect the popular and optimistic lyrics used during the twentieth century. The song was made popular by many folk singers notably Joan Baez and Bob Dylan. It has become one of the most popular folk songs today, largely because of its beautiful tune. But as with the lyrics, there are many variations on the melody with the result that no single variation can be considered the “correct†one. This SSA arrangement by Colin Kirkpatrick is ideal for boy choir, amateur choir, school or college choir. Each section of the choir as the melody line at some point and there are attractive and evocative counter-melodies. In the Soprano 1 part (which has one brief divisi section), the highest note is G5 (the G just above the staff) and the highest note in the Soprano 2 part is E5 (near the top of the treble staff). The Alto part has a range of G below Middle C (G4) up to B flat in the middle of the treble staff. The piano part is an integral part of the arrangement and therefore essential. The music begins in E flat and modulates to C major. Running at just over three minutes, the work is sure to be popular with choir and audiences alike. Note that the audio sample cannot yet render the words.
