Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1120928 By Reinaldo Yiso. By Miguel Nijensohn. Arranged by Juan Carlos Cortés Aguirre. Folk,Instructional,Latin,Multicultural,Traditional,World. Score. 2 pages. Juan Carlos Cortés Aguirre #722118. Published by Juan Carlos Cortés Aguirre (A0.1120928). ¡Mentira tu fracaso, mentira que te has ido! ¡Mentira tu fracaso, mentira que te has ido!

Flute Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1215191 Composed by Grant Horsley. Contest,Festival,Folk,Latin,Multicultural,Patriotic,World. 34 pages. Grant Horsley #812063. Published by Grant Horsley (A0.1215191). Jacaranda is a very tall tree with a purple bloom which is native to South America. This tree lines the streets of Buenos Aires which is considered by many to be the birthplace of the Argentinian Tango. This original Tango has two main sections- a passionate and animated section to begin with which clearly states the rhythms associated with the Tango, followed by a contrasting more wistful romantic middle section, which has the Cuban habanera elements present, from which a Tango is derived. Then the piece returns to the first section taking it to a conclusionJacaranda is scored for 6 C flutes and is in the key of D minor (concert) with the middle section in D major. The range is around two octaves for all players, and I have tried to keep all parts interesting with shared moments of melodic and rhythmic interest. It also has wide dynamic contrasts and heavy accents, along with legato and staccato phrasing, all of which are effectively used in this genre. It is set to Intermediate level- it is 4 mins 40 in length and would make a lovely addition to any programme. The youtube link has the full score so you can assess suitability. Price is for the full score and all parts.NB There is also another Flute Choir version available (4 C flutes, Alto and Bass flute) as well as a Clarinet Choir version.

Guitar - Advanced - Digital Download SKU: ZZ.DZ-4287 Composed by Francisco Braga. Arranged by Luciano Lima. Score. 13 pages. Les Productions d'OZ - Digital #DZ 4287. Published by Les Productions d'OZ - Digital (ZZ.DZ-4287). ISBN 9782898522048.Antônio Francisco Braga (1868-1945) belongs to the generation of Brazilian composers of the first republican period, aesthetically tied to romanticism, alongside Henrique Oswald (1852-1931), Leopoldo Miguez (1850-1902), Glauco Velásquez (1884-1914), and Barrozo Neto (1881-1941). Born in Rio de Janeiro, on April 15th, 1868, he began his musical studies at the Asilo dos Meninos Desvalidos, in 1876. In 1883, he enrolled at the Imperial Conservatório de Música where he studied harmony and counterpoint with Carlos de Mesquita – a former student of César Franck, Durand, and Massenet – and clarinet with Antônio Luís de Moura. Braga's first compositions date from this period: Sonho de Dante (1885), Dolce far niente (1886), the first Valse Romantique for piano (1886), among others. In 1887, he premiered his first symphonic work, Fantasia-Abertura. In 1890, being one of the finalists in a competition to choose the new Brazilian national anthem, Braga was awarded a scholarship to study in Europe, where he took classes with Jules Massenet at the Paris Conservatory. During this period, he wrote some of his most important symphonic works, Paysage, Cauchemar, Episódio Sinfônico, and Marabá (which was performed by Richard Strauss and the Vienna Philharmonic in 1920, in Brazil). His opera Jupyra is considered one of the greatest Brazilian compositions of that genre.Back in Brazil, he was appointed professor of counterpoint, fugue, and composition at the Instituto Nacional de Música, in 1902. There, some of the finest Brazilian composers studied with him, like Glauco Velásquez and Lorenzo Fernândez.Braga wrote operas, symphonic works, songs, sacred music, two Masses, music for piano, different chamber formations, band, and choir. He is the author of many patriotic hymns, the most popular of which is Hino à Bandeira (with lyrics by Olavo Bilac). He explored Brazilian nationalist elements in some of his works, as in Variações sobre um Tema Brasileiro and in the Trio for violin, cello and piano, whose third movement is based on a lundu (a musical genre and dance of Afro-Brazilian origin). In addition to being a composer, Braga was one of the most active conductors of his time, having been ahead of three orchestras in Rio de Janeiro: Instituto Nacional de Música, Sociedade de Concertos Sinfônicos, and Theatro Municipal. Braga conducted the Brazilian premiere of major symphonic works such as La Mer (Debussy), Pacific 231 (Honegger) besides other numerous Brazilian compositions. In 1938, he retired from Instituto Nacional de Música. He passed away on March 14th, 1945, in Rio de Janeiro.Unfortunately, Francisco Braga never wrote for the guitar. However, over a century ago his music had already been incorporated to its repertoire. According to information found in newspapers of the time, Spanish guitarist Josefina Robledo included transcriptions of pieces by Braga in her programs when she performed in Brazil: Gavota e Minuete (from the melodrama Contratador de Diamantes), in 1919, in São Paulo, and the waltz-caprice Corrupio, in 1921, in Rio de Janeiro. The piano score of Madrigal Pavane was dedicated to Alexina Leitão and published by Casa Vieira Machado, in 1901. According to the composer’s catalogue, there are two other versions of this piece: strings orchestra (1901) and quartet (which is still in manuscript). Dedicated to Braga’s childhood friend José de Souza Rocha, Timburibá (the name of a Brazilian tree) is a tango for piano from 1886, published by Narciso & Arthur Napoleão.

Published by Juan Carlos Cortés Aguirre (A0.958668).

Juan Maria Solare #4794263. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596574). Reencuentro (Reunion): Slow Milonga (country-side milonga) written down after a visit to the cemetery at El Escorial (Spain) on 30 March 2008. This is the typical piece that is destilated in concentric stages: first a lead sheet version (only melody and chords), later a simple piano solo version that starts to become more and more complex. The easy piano version was written on 7 April 2008 and finished in Berlin on 9th April 2008. Piano Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.596506 Composed by Juan MarÃa Solare. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary,Standards,World. Score. 10 pages. Juan Maria Solare #3363803. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596506). Juan MarÃa Solare: Acuarelas junto al rÃo inmóvil (Watercolours alongside the still river) five nocturnes for piano solo The still river is the River Plate; the novelist Eduardo Mallea (1902-1982) refers to Buenos Aires as the city next to the still river, an allusion to its lack of haste. This cycle of piano pieces is a collection of five short nocturnes. The first four Acuarelas were composed in Buenos Aires between 9th and 12th April 2007, the fifth piece was conceived on 4th May and written down on 6th May 2007. All five pieces have practically the same formal structure. Concerning the musical language or style, I would classify this work under contemporary classical with interferences from modern jazz and new tango (imagine Astor Piazzolla listening to a recording of Thelonious Monk playing preludes of Alexander Scriabin). Single titles and approximate durations I - Bruma matinal (Morning Mist) [1'10] II - Flecha flotante (Floating Arrow) [1'00] III - Vaivén de los juncos (Sawying Reeds) [1'15] IV - Orilla urbana (Urban Shore) [2'00] V - Incandescencia estática (Static Incandescence) [0'45] ISWC (International Standard Musical Work Code): T-802.466.008-1 The Acuarelas were recorded by Juan MarÃa Solare in London on Friday 23rd May 2014. That most sensual of ballroom dances, the tango, originated during the 1880s along the Río de la Plata, the confluence of the Uruguay and Paraná rivers. It got started among the enslaved peoples and the lower classes, became popular and eventually spread to other countries. <br> The tango is closely identified with Argentina, and Argentine musician Á.G. Villoldo was instrumental in developing the music of the dance. He supposedly wrote this particular tango to celebrate the proprietor of a nightclub, a gentleman whose nickname was “El Choclo” (in English: “The Corn Cob”!).<br> “El Choclo” premiered in Buenos Aires in 1903 and became one of Argentina’s most popular tangos. Dance orchestras recorded instrumental versions of "El Choclo." It achieved widespread popularity in the United States in 1952 when Lester Allen and Robert Hill provided it with English-language lyrics and a new name: “Kiss of Fire.” A number of singers made recordings of “Kiss of Fire” that year, the most popular of which was that of Georgia Gibbs; her “Kiss of Fire” disc reached the top spot on the Billboard chart.<br> The melody for “El Choclo” is exciting, stirring, stimulating, electrifying; in other words, perfect for a brass group. In this arrangement Horn in F has the melody throughout much of the piece, but Trumpets, Trombone and Tuba also take turns with the lead. The piece opens in the key of D minor, switches to D major (for the part of the melody that was not in the Georgia Gibbs version) and finally goes back to D minor for the recap of the main melody and a dramatic conclusion. The suggested tempo is 120 but may certainly be played faster. All notes are within the normal playing range of the five instruments. However the Tango rhythm lies mostly in the bass line, so Tuba and sometimes Trombone have frequent octave and octave-plus jumps.<br> Completed in 2020, performance time for “El Choclo” runs about 2 minutes, 50 seconds. The arranger, Les Smith, will be happy to provide substitute parts (for example, treble clef baritone for trombone) at no charge; contact him directly at lessmith61@bellsouth.net. Piano - intermediate - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q25583 14 famous classical pieces, original version + jazzy arrangement. Composed by Uwe Korn. Arranged by Uwe Korn. This edition: Sheet music. Jazz rock - classic - music history. Downloadable. Op. Vol. 2. Schott Music - Digital #Q25583. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q25583). 14 famous themes from music history, from Bach to Offenbach, each with its own jazzy interpretation - just as in Vol. 1. This edition shows that 'classical music' and jazz are not that distant from one another after all. Just imagine Grieg's Piano Concerto played on a bandoneon - and you have got the perfect tango! Brahms' Hungarian Dance No. 1 is also ideal as a salsa ('Hungarian Salsa No.1'). Schubert's trout suffers a terrible fate, here it may continue to live in a lively ragtime ('Fish Rag'). With Mozart, the night is merry and friendly. but 'A Black Night Music' shows its dark side.

Piano Solo - Advanced - Digital Download Composed by Juan María Solare. 21st Century, Contemporary Classical, Post- Modern, Neo-Classical, Graduation. Score. 9 pages. Published by Juan Maria Solare
This composition was born in order to be used as obligatory piece in a piano competition. As such, it has to have very specific characteristics: not to be too long, to presenta minimum degree of technical and aesthetic difficulty, but also achieving thatdelicate sweet spot in which the technical difficulty is musically justified; i.e.,that no pianist feels that they are wasting their time while studying it (oreven worse: that they have the impression of being studying an exercise).<br> <br> The piano competition involved was the Segundo concurso nacional de piano 'festival de pianistas', basedin the city of Mar del Plata, Argentina.<br> <br> In the adjective "tangabile" (a neologism that resembles "cantabile")is a hidden allusion to Astor Piazzolla's pieces Allegro tangabile or Moderatotangabile. Of course, tangabile implies "related to tango"<br> <br> This is a video of the presentation of Daniel Álvarez Veizaga during that competition. The event tookplace at the Centro Cultural Victoria Ocampo “Villa Victoria”, Mar del Plata,Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina. Piano Kawaii RX5.<br> <br> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfClIaFgBBI
