PULSO DE LA VIDA was composed as part of my dear friend Kostas Tosidis' doctoral thesis with the title Bowing technique on the guitar.The character of the piece changes from simple and meditative to rhythmic and tension-filled, reflecting different stages of our lives.Using a C, G, D tuning for the bass strings, the guitar utilizes resonance to create sustained, cello-sounding melodies on the fourth string, complemented by harmonies on the fifth and sixth strings.The bowing technique is introduced with a continuous tremolo accompanied by an extended form of the first theme. The more dancelike and rhythmical part of the piece uses a 19/16 measure that allows us to experience a sense of disparity. Finally, the simplicity combined with a sense of completeness, but also of abandonment of the beautiful gift of life, leaves us in a state of stillness for any kind of introspection.PULSO DE LA VIDA a été composé dans le cadre de la recherche doctorale de mon cher ami Kostas Tosidis, sous le titre Bowing technique on the guitar (technique d'archet à la guitare).Le caractère de la pièce passe de simple et méditatif à rythmique et plein de tension, reflétant les différentes étapes de notre vie.La guitare, dont les cordes basses sont accordées en do, sol et ré, utilise la résonance pour créer des mélodies soutenues au son du violoncelle sur la quatrième corde, complétées par des harmonies sur les cinquième et sixième cordes.La technique d'archet est introduite par un trémolo continu accompagné d'une forme étendue du premier thème. La partie plus dansante et rythmique de la pièce utilise une mesure 19/16 qui nous permet d'éprouver un sentiment de disparité. Enfin, la simplicité combinée à un sentiment de plénitude, mais aussi d'abandon du magnifique cadeau qu'est la vie, nous laisse dans un état de tranquillité propice à toute forme d'introspection.

All gestures, all attacks or caresses of breath and lips multiply only with the aim of lending more richness and more substance as well as more reason to this initial question and statement. With the weight given to the more eloquent deductions and developments, the discourse comes to an end, while returning, as if in conclusion, again and again to this short and final statement from the beginning. Thus, the impulse and breath of the flute is expressed – eloquent and passionate – between paraphrase, exposition and clarification.

Published by Andres LLona (A0.1473634). “Golpes Festivos” es una obra para dos sets de percusión, en el que no hay alturas definida solo parches, platillos y accesorios como shaker, cascabeles, vibraslap y bocina. El título para esta obra fue elegido con el fin de crear un ambiente festivo, en el que los sonidos puedan promover un ambiente alegre, y en donde en algunas secciones se pueda imaginar alguna festividad conocida por el uso de algún instrumento, como lo es en el caso de los cascabeles. Esta obra fue creada mayoritariamente a partir de la realización de patrones rítmicos con un tempo estable. Se busca un resultado sonoro vigoroso, energético, agraciado, en el que se demuestre la fuerza de los instrumentos de percusión elegidos.Las principales obras que inspiraron a este compositor para llegar a crear “Golpes Festivos” fueron “Rebonds b”, “Rebonds a” y “Dmaathen” de Iannis Xenakis, principalmente la primera mencionada ya que mantiene un pulso constante, estable, fluido y con patrones rítmicos similares. También la obra de John Cage “Third Construction” sirvió para buscar mas sonoridades y otras formas de construir patrones rítmicos. Además, las Obras de Gene Koshinski como “Dance of the Drums” y “As One” que sirvieron como inspiración de obras de percusión más contemporáneas dentro del siglo XXI. Finalmente, también sirvió como inspiración la obra de Luciano Berio “Circles”.

This little suite for beginner string orchestra aims to put into practice as many of the different technical aspects of the ABRSM Grade 1 exam as possible, whilst remaining a fun piece to play! The cheerful first movement is in D major. There is some use of open string double stops and a chance for the 2nd violins to show off their left hand pizzicato, whilst the legato cello melody in the middle section explores the 1234 chromatic finger pattern. The short second movement, which is really no more than a brief interlude, is in A major, and provides the opportunity to focus on controlling slurs and legato bowing. 4th fingers instead of open Es in the 1st violins are desirable but not compulsory! Finally, the third Latin-inspired movement is a syncopation-filled exploration of the E minor natural scale. If you have some percussion instruments at hand please feel free to get creative and add them in wherever you like! The piece can be played without double basses, but if there are none it might be an idea for one desk of cellos to cover the bass part in the first movement middle section. 3rd violins are only necessary if there are no violas, or if violas need an extra boost!

Toccata № 1 (1983) Toccata № 1 was written in Minsk at the request of professor Yuri Gildiuk, Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus, to compose a piano piece for a talented student for the participation in the national competition. In 1983 the piece was performed for the first time by Andrey Sikorsky, who was awarded the First price of the Republican Piano Competition. It was later recorded on the Belarusian Radio. It is dedicated to Yuri Gildiuk. Toccata № 2 (1985) The piece was written in Minsk by order of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus for the National piano competition, following the tradition of performing a Belarusian composition as a compulsory assignment. It is dedicated to Timur Sergeyenia as the best performer of this piece at the competition. Afterwards it was often included in the programs of international piano competitions. It was also played in Germany and Netherlands. Sonata (1989) The one movement sonata, which was written in Druskinenkai (Lithuania), has the subtitle «Tragic». It was performed for the first time and recorded on the Belarusian Radio by the famous pianist Oleg Krimer (Germany). The piece was played by Beltiukov himself several times. It was also included in the concerts at the Congress of the Union of Composers of the Republic of Belarus, as well as in the concert programs of S. Beltiukov in the Netherlands (2002).
