The basis of this arrangement is the edition for tenor and piano by Agustín Lara with Spanish lyrics. It permitted a standalone orchestration for concert band without relationship to an existing orchestra version as with a transcription. Lara wrote this song on the Spanish town Granada in 1932. The arrangement of this version premiered with tenor Nutthaporn Thammathi and Wind Philharmonic Mozarteum Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer on 6 January 2014 in the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and broadcasted live by Austrian television. Is was repeated in a slightly modified version with the same singer by Salzburg Wind Philharmonic conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January 2023, also in the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and again broadcasted live by Austrian television. When arranging the overture of Rossini's opera Il barbiere di Siviglia (The Barber of Seville) the choice of the original source is an important question, as there exist more versions in different scorings, with or without piccolo flute, with or without trombones. In this case the arranger was to be chosen the scientific original text edition published by the Rossini foundation. The arrangement is transposed from the original key E to E flat. The ad libitum parts of Euphonium and Tuba are only recommended to be used, if there is a lack of low winds and double bass players in the orchestra performing. This arrangement was first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their Three Kings' Concert on 6th January 2010 in the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and broadcasted live by Austrian television. Published by Edition Schwalbe (A0.1487841). The Kaiser Walzer (Emperor Waltz) is one of most famous pieces of this genre and perhaps the one with the most pronounced symphonic character. It was written for the opening of the Berlin concert hall Königsbau on 19 October 1889. The first performance in Vienna took place on 11 November 1889 by his competitor Carl Michael Ziehrer, who made his own instrumentation along a piano edition. Strauss disliked that very much. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra. It premiered on 2 October 1864 in Pavlovsk near St. Petersburg and was dedicated to the famous Viennese music critic Eduard Hanslick. This arrangement in the original key of the orchestral version was commissioned by Salzburg Wind Philharmonic, principal conductor Hansjoerg Angerer and premiered at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January 2020 at the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and broadcasted live by Austrian television. Albert Schwarzmann had to step in at very short notice for the sick Hansjoerg Angerer, who performed this piece at the same event on 6 January 2024. So he composed Don Carlos first in French, and he also had to deliver a ballet. Ballo della regina is kept as an interlude in the third act of the opera, which premiered on 11 March 1865 at Opéra National de Paris. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg. Due to an overlength program they performed not the whole ballet music, but only the final. It was first time performed conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January 2017 at the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria. Gioacchino Rossini composed the music 1835 originally for solo voice and piano. It is part of his song cycle Les soirées musicales with twelve pieces by various poets. This version was orchestrated and arranged in the key of A minor as prefered by prominent tenors like Luciano Pavarotti.
