In 2009 he was Artist-in-Residence at Duke University. In addition the USA and the UK, Oliveira's music has also been played in many countries, with invitations for concerts exclusively with his music in México, Italy and Holland (Amsterdam). The Spanish Magazine Sonograma has published 2 interviews with Sergio.Sergio is the founder and a member of the group of composers Prelúdio 21. The group is one of the most active worldwide. It holds a distinguished place in Brazilian contemporary music, having been active for 15 consecutive seasons, with a permanent series of monthly concerts since 2008. In 2011 the group released the CD String Quartets, with performances by the Quarteto Radamés Gnattali. Oliveira is also a member of the group of composers Vox Novus, based in New York.To commemorate 15 years of activity as a composer, Oliveira released a box set with 4 CDs, as well as a CD with composer Mark Hagerty, and produced the series QUINZE, with 13 concerts including his works, between July and October of 2012. More than 130 musicians, including 28 composers, participated of QUINZE (CDs and series).His discography includes 14 CDs as producer, 14 as composer, 22 as general producer, 2 as arranger and 2 as pianist. His catalog of compositions includes approximately 115 works for various ensembles, including Symphony Orchestra. Sergio Roberto de Oliveira is a member of the Latin Academy of the Arts and Science of Recording.He died from pancreatic cancer in 2017.

Um clássico do absurdo. Esperando Godot é uma peça simples de entender a descrição, sendo os velhos os instrumentos de cordas e o sintetizador seria o Godot. Então seria Godot uma pessoa ou nada? Por que o nada deveria ter um nome? Nada é nada, e por que ele deveria ter um nome, poderia esse nome transformar o nada em um ser? Mas, o nada existe? A espera de Godot é o mesmo que esperar o nada, pois as vezes ficamos sentados esperando por algo, e sem saber o que é esse algo, a gente sempre espera por algo que queremos muito, no fundo a gente sabe o que está esperando, talvez Godot seja essa sensação de espera. sintetizador poderia expressar essa sensação de espera, você pensou que ele ia fazer alguma coisa diferente do que tocar a mesma nota? A propósito, na partitura finalizada, esse sintetizador não para de tocar, eu fiz um pequeno corte para inicia-lo no finale, porque o midi chegava em um determinado momento a parar de tocar, eu não consegui resolver isso, mesmo reescrevendo todas as notas. Então é isso, o sintetizador toca a nota B do começo ao fim sem interrupção.

(Wikipédia) A Cantora Careca, de Eugêne Ionesco(1909 - 1994), é Comédia em um único ato, escrita em 1949 foi o primeiro texto do dramaturgo francês. A Cantora Careca, foi criada a partir de um livro-texto para o ensino da lÃngua inglesa, onde mostrava um casal conversando diálogos absurdos. Altamente irônico, o texto conservou também o absurdo nos diálogos, marcados por clichês e futilidades. Os absurdos nas conversas levam os seis personagens, à completa incomunicabilidade, através do diálogo ininteligÃvel. O foco central da peça é a linguagem, fazendo uma referência a um tenebroso futuro para as relações humanas, e consequentemente da comunicação: a impossibilidade de diálogo entre as pessoas. Aqui o violão não é só um simples acompanhante, existe uma conversa entre essas duas sonoridades sem a presença de palavras, talvez seja esse o dialogo absurdo que vc não vai entender, aliás, acho interessante que essa canção não vai ofender ninguém.

Work commissioned for mezzo-soprano Sandra Ferrández and pianist Irene Alfageme to be premiered at the Teatro de la Zarzuela (Madrid) on 1st April 2024.The piece takes inspiration from the the XV Century Spanish poem by anonymous author 'Van Y Vienen', which gave the lyrics of the work. Although the poem was written in the Middle Ages, it resonates with a timeless universality, allowing for a deep connection with the contemporary audience. Its metaphor of the sea as a reflection of human emotions – that come and go like the waves of the sea – transcends eras, resonating with the instability and hope that characterize the human experience.By using it as lyrics for a sort of contemporary habanera, I saw the possibility of merging the nostalgia of the past with the artistic expression of the present, creating a bridge between different historical moments through music and poetry. ____________________________________________________________________Obra encargo para el estreno a cargo de la mezzosoprano Sandra Ferrández y la pianista Irene Alfageme en el Teatro de la Zarzuela (Madrid) el 1 de abril de 2024. La pieza se utiliza el poema anónimo del siglo XV 'Van y Vienen'. Aunque fue escrito en la Edad Media, resuena con una universalidad atemporal, permitiendo una profunda conexión en la era actual. Su metáfora del mar como reflejo de las emociones humanas – que van y vienen como las olas del mar – trasciende épocas, resonando con la inestabilidad y la esperanza que caracterizan la experiencia humana. Four Hispanic Children’s Songs is a four movements piece based on 18th Century children songs from Spain that became parts of the Hispano American heritage.
